Woohoo, first to comment! What a great video. I never knew Bucharest was so modern and interesting. Thanks for showcasing much of what this amazing city has to offer.
I've found food tours to be so much fun and informative! The bookstore was a great place! There were a lot of other things on the menu with more flavor than the tripe soup. I am certain of that!
the church that is shown with the caption "St Nicholas Russian Church" at 06:26 is actually the Kretzulescu church, doesn't have onion shaped domes, like the Russian church does, but is rather a typical wallachian style church from 1724
Thanks! Located in the Old Town, Ground Zero carries the English name, because there are so many tourists who visit. You'll find English named businesses in. just about every country.
From my very limited experience, I think that prices almost everywhere are coming more into line with what we see in the US. Yes, it is cheaper elsewhere, but the gap is closing, quickly. Anecdotally, I follow the way things are going in Dublin, Ireland. That is a relatively high cost of living area, to begin with. Every day, I see businesses that been operating for years or decades, closing because they say they can't get the numbers to work for them. It makes you wonder how things can continue to follow current trends.
@@oldaloneandfarfromhome Ireland might be an extreme example. They got business in by lowering the corporate tax rate. If every EU country did that Ireland's model wouldn't work. It has also attracted many foreigners and real estate speculators. But yes, prices are up all over. But I always heard that Eastern Europe was so cheap. But I also see it as a world of the haves and have nots

There should be prizes! Sadly, there are not.
I was so impressed with Bucharest! As Alexandra says, they are "civilized"!

Bucureşti was spectacular! My only regret is that I wasn't able to stay there longer.
Thank you for watching!
The food tour looked great and I would love to explore the giant bookstore! I think I would pass on the tripe soup...

Thank you for the correction. This will help other viewers!
Another fun video! I'm curious--why would the brew pub "Ground Zero" be named in English?
Thanks!

Have you discovered better places you would rather move to in terms of prices, safety, beauty than Mexico?
