Asunción Paraguay: Is it South America's Most Overlooked City?

  • Not that many tourists place Paraguay or its capital, Asunción on their list of places to visit. Is there a good reason for that? Or are they missing out on experiencing a special place? I'll try to give an answer to those questions in the video.
This could be the most comprehensive look at Asunción on RUclips. Check out what this city has to offer!
    Music provided by Epidemic Sound.
Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for RUclips is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational. Perhaps you will come away from my channel with ideas about places you would like to visit or be inspired to forge your own way.
I travel slowly, spending four or five weeks in each destination. Hopefully, that will allow me to go beyond the surface to find the essence of each location. By the end of 2024, I will have visited 14 countries and five of the seven continents. Come along for the journey!

I must say that I have been pleasantly surprised! It won't be long before people discover that there is another place they should visit in South America.

I'm looking forward to your next videos about Paraguay. I had dismissed visiting it before, but am now considering a road trip around the country this coming May,. Enjoy your time in Asuncion.

      Thank you so much!
I don't show much more than Asunción in my videos. In the next one (out Sunday) I do discuss and try some of the traditional foods of Paraguay.
I've moved on to Bolivia at this point, but I am regretting my decision not to go to Iguazu Falls. It looks incredible!

Awesome! It felt a little like I was discovering something new, when I visited, since there weren't that many other tourists around!

There is a lot of great stuff here and very few other tourists to share it with! Paraguay will be discovered someday.
Thank you for watching and thanks for the travel wishes!

Really enjoyed your videos. Id like to sugest using music from the country you are visiting, like Agustin Barrios in this case

Thank you! I would love to use music from artists in each of the countries I visit, but I cannot do that without securing the rights to use those songs. The service that I use (and pay for) is one of the best, but it is limited in what music is available from each country.

I feel the same way about zoos.

If the place is a rescue and the animals have plenty of space and lots of enrichment, I can totally get behind the facility. If it exists just to exhibit animals, that is sad.

@@oldaloneandfarfromhome I am from Paraguay and I kind of agree that zoos are sad places for animals. This zoo is better now than in the past but the animals even though well taken care of still live in cages like in most zoos.

Your presentations are a little too professional appearing. You must spend a lot of time editing. You can't help being old, but being alone? Why? Where is home? I have none now, I am a Gipsy, but seldom alone...
