one of the best tutorials there is , i managed to do it first try, i followed every single step you make in the video.
what is the difference between v2 and v3 flex? cai i use de v2 flex on the oled switch?
Hey buddy, can you check on my order 11190. Sent it over a week ago. Cant wait!
Where’s your shop located?
What is your iron temp?
Hi, thank you for this tutorial! Where i can find that dat0
Can you explain the software part to finish the work? Thank you!
In my first installation the most difficult for me was the point in the 3.3 v to solder the resistor, in my second lite, the points where the cpu is was difficult because the flex cable was too open
The CPU soldering technique looks to be more efficient and with less hassle than other peoples video, very impressive. I will be trying to do a V2 installation soon and will be trying to do the way that you do (without pre-tinning the flex). Videos that tin the flex always seem to have problems with attaching the cable (have to do multiple times).
@10:55 you dropped some solder on the bottom of that 3.3v connection at the top of the ribbon cable real quick but you didn't say anything and when I pause it, it looks like there are connections at the top and bottom but you just did a real quick job on the bottom connection but not the top? @ 12:05 you show a really good pic of it but the top is not soldered? Does that 3.3v not need to be connected at both ends? It also looks like you're supposed to jump the two together on the top and bottom? What's going on there? Seems kinda important.
Hi, I have question a Nintendo switch switch came in for repair I change the usb port and P13 chip as it had shots. Now switch is fix working and charging fine. But the problem is it is not docking. I have checked LCD connector it is fine as well and there is no shot around M92 chip as well. But still not image on TV. What could the problem and advice
Check the filters near the piusb3 otherwise replace that chip again. Good luck.
Thanks I will do that @@Wayayeo
What is the temperature that should be set to remove capacitors?
Don't you have to clean the flux?
Soldering is one thing but when you require a microscope...at one point its just cheaper to get someone to do it instead of buying all the equipment.
nice clear thermal paste mate lol
I followed your video step by step, I like how you go into detail about everything, my issue is my oled will not boot with the picofly install, however if i remove the ribbon cables from the picofly it boots up like nothing ever happened, any advice? or tips? Thank you for your time
nvm i didnt know i had to install firmwire to the picofly it self thank you again great video
My switch lite has a purple screen after installing RP2040, any idea what could be the problem?
Resistor on point A
@@Wayayeo Thank you, I appreciate your help.
So I attempted this myself, though I did ok, had all the right readings. Got the firmware flashed and it won't boot. It gives me one solid blue light, then yellow x2 a pause yellow x2, pause yellow x2 and then nothing. What could I have possible messed up? 🤦♂️
Possibly your DA0 point but I’d check for any shorted points. Good luck
@Wayayeo yeah, I'm not sure... I think I messed something else up, I removed it and the system still wouldn't power on, so I think it's a new mobo time and pay someone with better eyesight to install it 🤷🏻♂️😬😅
Suerte 👍🍀
So anyone knows how the bios chip gets corrupted in the first place?
Which microscope did you recommended me to get one? Thanks in advance.
Anything from a $400 rage from aliexpress works fine
@Wayayeo thanks for replying! Which wier soldering do you recommend my to use? I'm using this one ( Tin 97%, Silver 0.3%, Cuper 0.7%, Flex 2%), but I'm having a hard time to deal with it. My machine is Sugon A9. Big thanks in advance.
Just finally got around to installing the older ribbon version I've had for months yesterday on my lite and this would have been so much nicer to have. Also, my picofly board was dead but not by me, touched up the solder joints around the RP2040 chip and it works great now.
Glad to hear
The chips also need to be flashed with software first. People never mention this.
Some chips come pre-flashed, others don't
16:20 I tend to find many that botched this part up. The unintended pads are too close to the other capacitors (the right side ones), you came close to shorting the right side too! Trying to get out of it is HARD with cheap irons and most often than not they will lose the capacitor trying to fix it. What I usually find out is their soldering tip is not small enough nor hot enough if its too small. I've tested a few methods to counter this for "everyday joes" to do it with their normal irons and the BEST way is to put a tiny layer of solder mask on the unintended caps. It will save their bacon, perhaps you could do it in a video.
👍😸
so fast and efficient + explaining what is going on without skipping a beat.. Masterclass at work :) keep it up !
Glad you liked it!
how and why the solder is so well connected and brillant on the iron ? what is your solder wire and your temperature :) ?
I'm still a novice at soldering but have found that just regular tin solder is terrible at flowing. No lead flux core solder and some no clean flux make it nice and flow. The one I use has Sn99 Ag0.3 Cu0.7 with a flux core. The temperature I use depends but 500F or above. But take my temperature with a grain of salt because my tip may not be the best and I'm probably doing something wrong.
You need quality leaded solder along with flux. I’ll link to the stuff I use in the next vid Temp is 680-700.
@@Wayayeo my solder can't reach 680 ,can i use 480?
order mine going to do it friday i do have all the tools to do it just nervous on fucking it up lol
Oled is more difficult then other models, think twise before start. only if you have greate expirience in soldering, and right tools, flux. paste.
Take your time and breaks if need to. Wish you good luck
If i install a digital edition bios will it still work on a disc editon to convert to digital only?
Yes
Hi, I am considering sending my switch to get a mod chip installed through your company. Though after looking at Wayayeo's Service and its contreversial reviews on Yelp, It's kinda making me reconsider the decision, is everything fine? ☹️ I can't find anyone to solder and this was one of my options.
Which one is better? The new one or the old type?
New one is easier to solder
Which Temperatur is recommended?
680F
I can also confirm that he is 100% legit Responded to every call every text he is super professional He knows what he is doing and i would recommend him to everybody wanting any repairs at all i shipped him my switch oled all the way from the bay area Everything came back working as it should and super clean work i couldnt be happier wish this guy the absolute best and i hope your business booms not too many honest and trustworthy men like yourself!!!! ( ALSO HE TOOK 2 DAYS!!! )
The only reason i even chose to work with him was because of the vouch right under me
What iron temp? Nice work.
He visto trabajos chambones y este
Sería buneo que explicases exactamente que materiales usaste y no nada más directo vayas a la parte de soldar
Hola qué tipo de herramienta usas para cortar las láminas me podrás pasar el modelo de las pinzas gracias
Any reason you use different wires. From the enameled copper wire to the insulated yellow wire?
Not a fan if enameled copper wire. Too stiff.
What size wire are you using? Nice work.
36-38 awg wire works
i am having an issue where it doesn't boot the lights come on but it is one blue followed by 6 yellow lights. Has anybody had this issue before?
It’s most likely a soldering problem. Check all connections with multimeter. Good luck.
hola con que cortas el aluminio si no es con el drimer ?
Saludos. Con Pinzas agudas.
Are you plugging it in via usb-c at the very end to get it to initiate the glitching?
Yes. Plug in to a regular amp meter so you can see the activity. Based on the chip LED and amps drawn you can tell if it’s installed properly. Good luck on your install.
@@Wayayeo thanks for the response. Do you have the usb coming from a computer or a power block? Does it matter? Tried it to my computer and unfortunately no blinking for me.
Man i couldnt even attempt to micro solder...And then not even do the job correctly. And now send it to get it repaired Should of just send it the first time to get the job done correctly!
We’ll gladly take care of it. Use our site wayayeo.org
Great guide and soldering skills but my god, why reuse the same, old thermal paste? 😮
Thank you for your comments. We use quality thermal paste we’ve been using for many years with absolutely no issues.
I hate to be that person, but what are you installing on the board? I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of bypass or a common issue on these Oled’s, but I haven’t worked on any thus far, but would love to know what issues this resolves with them Thank you
You are so bad man 🤦♂️
Amazing job. What is the millimiter of the wire you used?
Thank you. Your comment is very much appreciated. 38 awg wire used.
So where do we find what to do after the chip is installed . Like the process after that with the sd card. ??
There’s lots of RUclips vids on how to do this. Simply search for how to install “hekate”. Good luck 👍
@@Wayayeo what happens when I solder everything and the led lights up and the Nintendo turns on but the screen is black . Happened to me after resoldering the flex cable because I flipped the right side of it the wrong way .
so crazy how people attempt this install and have gorilla hands. Look at all the scratches near cpu traces where you cut the metal shield out lol
Definitely takes patience and dedication.
