Purple screen almost always means theres a problem with that 4.7k ohm cmd resistor. Nice repair 👍

That was it for me too. Resistor looked fine. No missing pads. Replaced with 4.7 ohm resistor and switch is back to life. Thanks!!!

Thank you for the video, I had the same problem, I put a 4.8k resistor a little bigger, but it works fine, the switch came back to life👍

Hello, very good, what resistance is placed at point A (CMD)? I mean the impedance value, is it a 4.7k or a 10k? Spero possiate dirmi che resistore adeguato avete messo, io ho schermo viola e non riesco con uno da 4.7k. sopra ottengono in modalità diodo com sonda rossa a terra, 290, sotto il pad dove si salda il punto A (CMD) ottengono il valore di questo video. Cosa c'è che non va sopra che mi da 290 e non 302? Cosa può essere? Potete aiutarmi?

I hope you can tell me what appropriate resistor you put, I have a purple screen and I can't with a 4.7k one. above they get in diode mode with red probe to ground, 290, under the pad where point A is soldered (CMD) they get the value of this video. What's wrong with it that gives me 290 and not 302? What can it be? Can you help me?

That resistor is tiny, were you able to solder that by hand or did you end up using hot air?

I used the solder iron. No need for heat gun.

I think I read somewhere that the capacitors from a RP 2040 chip fit to the Switch Nvidea chip

2:33 is salvagable.
clean it the best you can and look for the D point, and check if its shorted to gnd.
Flood it with uv mask, cure it, and slowly scrape to the d point. Check if the short is gone. If not, redo the process again.

I faced this nightmare of purple screen of death and get rid of it by removing the picofly ship clean everything and put some solder on A point on where this capacitor is located by miracle the switch works again and i ressamble everything back to normal state and giving back to customer ..''what a nightmare .

I too found a bad chip can cause this issue. Replaced chip and no more purple screen.

You could save so much time and hassle by just cleaning things with isopropyl alcohol instead of using whatever scraping tool you are using.
