I spend a long weekend in Nashville, IN every Fall. Hard Truth is great. Theres another small distillery right down the road from them called Bear Wallow doing good things.

I live a few minutes from Hard Truth. If you can find the sweet mash rye double oak I think it's the best they make.

I picked one up for 47.00 bucks at Costco. My friend gave me a sample of his so I didn’t have to open mine. I traded it for a Michters toasted bourbon, Lucky Seven (The Holdup), and a Sagamore PX Sherry finished. Bottles were all new, so I would buy another just to trade! Cheers

What’s a great fruit forward bourbon that you would recommend?

Hard Truth that I have tried are great and It's on my list to acquire more. Of course Dettling is on my list being from Bama. I really want try JT Mellick. I am just hearing about Black Forth Farms. Lost Lantern is another one I'm interested in. The Corbin Cash that I have had is dang good stuff, only had samples I really need distribution here in Bama. Good stuff. I am going to dive into Redwood Empire, Hard Truth, Ben Holladay, Sagamore, and many other smaller distilleries.

So what are the whiskeys that you will sacrifice and not buy and striving after trying to attain these other bottles what are you willing to not buy instead?

Dettling Cask Strength is awesome, got one in Kentucky before Christmas, Hard Truth Mellencamp collaboration rye is one I picked up a few weeks ago 😋, jt meleck-old Dominick,corbin cash and Crittendens are on my list to get in 2025 . CHEERS 🥃

Don’t sleep on the cask strength offerings from Driftless Glen in Wisconsin. Headed there this summer if you’re interested.

There are two. 1863 by swill dog and JP Wiser. A 24 year old Canadian bourbon.

There are two whiskies I want on my shelf in 2025. There is a small distillery in Newtown, Indiana called Old 55. A few years ago WhiskeyTubers The Bourbon Van crowned Old 55 BiB their Advent tournament winner so I'd love to get a any bottle from Old 55. Found North is Canadian whisky that I cannot buy in Canada. Ironic eh! Looks like a road trip to Indiana is in my future.

I have a hard truth and still not opened it! I have too many bottles that I still haven't opened. I have never seen or tried the Dettling. I have heard of J.T. Meleck, but never tried it. I have a bottle of Black Fork Farms, and I did a tasting of Black Fork Farms in Deadwood. We may be going to Deadwood this summer, its one of my favorite places to visit. If I do I will pick you up a bottle. I have not seen Lost Lantern. I must have been living under a rock, or out looking for Bigfoot, because I have never see Corbin Cash. Thanks for the video.

Literally every single one of those is on my list. Also, Cedar Ridge, High Bank, Fiddler, Unbendt, Crittenden, J. Reiger, Middle West, Frey Ranch, Pursuit, and I'm sure that list will only grow from there.

Absolutely loved the Heart Release , but this was a big miss for us as well. Just not a palate we enjoyed. This recipe should have stayed lost.

I’m a big MM fan but this isn’t a bottle I’ll see we don’t have liquor stores in big box stores. However I did like the Heart release. And all the cask strength.

Very nice review. I have three of your selections. I have a Markers Mark store pick, the Redwood Empire Lost Monarch Cask Strength and the Penelope Marshmallow Toast (actually 2 bottles). All three are great and on point. I would also add Cedar Ridge Small Batch Barrel Strength Bourbon at 116 proof. Oh, so nice. Cheers! Stay warm!

My favorites are JDSBBP Rye and New Riff 6 year Malt. Great video.

All solid choices. I'm sipping on an OLD Forrester single barrel store pick. I like the Knob Creek store picks. I never pass them up and have never been disappointed.

Love all these. I've been grabbing the Smokeye Hill (I'm pretty obsessed with it.) Also barrel proof double oaked products are really hitting the spot. Speaking of that, I've got a Sagamore pick that I've snagged a few times that to me drinks almost like a DO, and it's a nice spicy rye that drivers tons of flavor.

Nice to get what you want! The paperwork comes inside the case of three box. Nice that your friend gave it to you. I bought a case (3 bottles, box, and paperwork) for 200.00 each last year around this time. I’m hoping I score again this year! I gave one to my sone and one to a good friend to enjoy. They were 2023 very spicy!

It's great when you are able to A+ an allocated bottle you've really desired. Unsolicited advice, which I am good at, don't fall into the trap of loading up on bottles that you're afraid to kill. Two or three is fine. I used to have over a dozen. Now it's two. It's a happier place to be. Cheers!

Had a pour of the 23 GTS and it was a truly amazing experience. Will I ever get to try another probably not but at least I got to try some. Glad you got a bottle.🥃🥃🥃
