My biggest surprise for 2024 is the Evan Williams 1783 American Heroes Edition. Incredible value and way better than expected for a $20 bottle. Also, the Penelope Estate Private Select 9 Year is definitely one of the best bottles of the year.
Last year the Penelope 9 year was my bourbon of the year out of what I was able to get. This year it’s the James E Pepper great. Again I’m not a hunter nor do I buy bottles over 100 often. And I’ve stopped buying from Seelbachs just to expensive with shipping and honestly they are showcasing bottles that are just expensive. At my age I like to stay with what I’m liking Rare breed Knob creek single barrel and other shelfers. Now if I win the lottery I’ll go on a long bourbon hunt and will try them all but I’m not going to hold my breath. 🥃🥃🥃
