    If I was limited to only one lure... it would be the KastMaster... I remove the treble tool and replace it with a single barbless hook. Add a little flash-a-boo in gold or silver to give it some flash... catches every kind of fish, salt or freshwater.

      Hey! Thanks for the question. I think that a swivel could help, but I never thought it made a significant difference in action. That being said, snap swivel would make lure swap much faster and easier. If you don't want to commit to one for s bit, maybe a clip would be better.

      A couple different ways. 1) moderate fast retrieve with small vertical bumps all the way in. Bump sort of interrupts the retrieve 2) reel fall down. reel retrieve faster and raise rod tip up followed be a pause in reel and lower of rod tip. this works well with low weed areas 3) fast retrieve

    The kreh loop isn't as strong as a cinching knot like a uni. The split ring lets it flop around anyway. I'd either pull the ring off to tie the kreh loop, or leave it on and tie a uni knot, or take it off and uni knot a powerclip so I can change between spoons / gotcha plugs / whatever with the powerclip replacing the split ring and it stays with the leader instead of with the lure.

I have 100 gallons on board still after 8 years of sitting. I'm assuming the tank is fine. I tried pulling the fuel line out with a string attached to it. Fuel line came out easy but the string pulled off. How did you get yours thru? I still have the original 290 hp 2 stroke on it which ran perfect when i left it behind in our move. I'm struggling with replacement, rebuild, or new.

    • @dtylerpaul
      @dtylerpaul 2 месяца назад

      Thanks! I appreciate the view. The rods in this video are all ones that I built. The 1st one is a 7' 6" heavy action fast action rod that I built for walking the beach. Its on the bigger side for tossing large lures going after bigger species. Let me know if your interested in one, I can put you one together. For braid I usually run 20# most often. I find it the best all around size for most surf fishing. There are applications that I would go larger, but for 90% of my fishing its 20#.

I also say, independent of whats legal, its important to be considerate of the other people sharing the beach. If its crowded i tend to scale down to let others cover some ground.
