How I Repowered & Refurbished My 1993 Robalo Center Console Boat

- In this video, I will show you what I’ve done for my boat repower and refurbish. The boat is a 1993 2120 Center Console Robalo that I grew up on and my wife and I decided it was time to spend the money on repowering it and doing several other upgrades. The outboard was an old Mercury 2 stroke and is now a BRAND NEW Yamaha 200HP inline 4 stroke, and it makes a huge difference! The other updates include improved seating and storage, plus a brand new fiberglass T-Top by Young Boats. Young Boats in Inglis, FL did a fantastic job on the refurbishment!

I have a 1993 2120 Robalo as well. I am interested in refurbishing it. I'd love to pick your brain. The first question is did you have to replace the fuel tank?

love my Robalo and am so happy I brought it back to life.
I was worried about the same thing when I started considering refurbishing it. I had to swap some fuel lines a few years back before the refurb due to a leak, but never had to replace the tank. No issues so far with that approach for me.
@tightlineshightides4599 sorry for not getting back sooner. Wife had surgery and i put this on the back burner. Shes doing well now though.
I have 100 gallons on board still after 8 years of sitting. I'm assuming the tank is fine. I tried pulling the fuel line out with a string attached to it. Fuel line came out easy but the string pulled off. How did you get yours thru?
I still have the original 290 hp 2 stroke on it which ran perfect when i left it behind in our move. I'm struggling with replacement, rebuild, or new.
Can we get an estimated cost or cost breakdown of the updates? I think that be a good, informative video for people trying to do this.
I will say, this was not a cheap endeavor.All in for the refurbishment and repower is close to $50K.
Some will say it wasn't worth the cost and that I could have purchased a newer (still used) boat for the cost of the refurbishment. However, there is a lot of sentimental value in this boat which was a big driver for me to refurb vs buy. Plus, I love the idea of an older model boat... really stands out in the water.
