Good video. I’ve been using circle hooks for a while catfishing and was trying to decide what kind of setup to use going to the NC coast to fish. This video was very helpful.
Hey, sorry the dont pop into the video. However, all my recommendations are in the description of the video. Just click the "more" button and all the links are there. Thanks a ton for the view Tight Lines!
I really liked the vid. Being a new saltwater angler My question is how big of a hook to use. What is the mouth size of most fish caught in the surf. I have been using 3/0 and 4/0 hooks. To big or too small for most fish. ??????
For the most common fish caught from the beach, i think 3/0 is a little big. The majority of the fish are going to do better with a #1 up to a 2/0. With that being said, if I'm going after big redfish, snook, or shark I will step it up to a 4/0 hook. check out hook recommendations in our article tightlinesandhightides.com/top-10-most-common-fish-caught-from-the-beach/
Thank you for the advice. I'm trying to catch big fish, not that smaller fish are bad. I through spoons 2 and 3 oz. I also fish dead fresh bait. Ill try smaller hooks. Thanks Tyler.@@tightlineshightides
