      I would try swapping the battery for another one temporarily to see if the fault remains, as you may have a dead cell. Failing that, make sure your belt is tight and recheck your alternator. It’s a pretty simple charging circuit, so there are very few components that can go wrong

      Power it down, then power it all back up, don’t chuck it into reverse or press the “continue” button when starting up, wait til your phone connects, then long press the speech button. Once you’re in CarPlay, try maps first to see if you get the voice directions, then try internet radio or Spotify

    I'm having a issue with my 08 5 speed Stick Yairs. Tonight. It started fine. Then it cut out completely. I thought, it threw the belt, was the battery or alternator. Even though the alternator is new and so is the battery. The belt was replaced,the alternator was replaced and battery all last year. I pulled into auto zone. They tested the starter,battery and alternator and all tested working and fine. Well, I was there. I moved the battery and it again lost complete power again. No head lights, no dash lights. But, when I push the clutch. It ingages the starter. But it tries to crank the starter even without the key in it turning it. I'm lost to what the issue it. If anyone can help. Id be grateful

    • @nonrasputin9260
      @nonrasputin9260 2 месяца назад

      sounds like you have an intermittent connection issue if you move the battery and you start losing circuits. I would try and slowly go through the connections and wiring closest to the battery, moving/wiggling the wiring until you find the exact point which makes it do it. These kinds of failures can be frustrating to find, but, if you work through systematically, you should be able to trace it down. If you are able to download a schematic of the electrical system, there is likely a complete circuit which is affected where the lights, dash etc are powered from, I would start there. Good luck mate!

    • @kevdogcle9955
      @kevdogcle9955 Месяц назад

      I changed the ignition switch in the colon. And it's doing the same thing. When I hit the clutch. It ingages the starter. But, still no dash lights, headlight and no start. I checked the writing and nothing seems damage or broken wires. I never had a stick shift car do this. I rechecked battery and it good and fully charged. It has a new battery and alternator.

    • @nonrasputin9260
      @nonrasputin9260 Месяц назад

      @ hey mate, I’ve looked through the schematics and there are a few common relays/connections which would be worth checking and tracing back with a voltmeter. If you can check the relay H-LP/AMT (headlight relay), that’s a good start, then work your way back. It really does sound like a connection issue, but, a faulty relay could be your culprit eh, good luck mate

    the person that owned this before you was a bit of a feral not gonna lie ( my car cleaned every week and every second week leather Detailed) . The colour on the car is quite nice for a GM product. Also I thought all Alloytech engines were gonna fail regardless of service? Replacing the key fobs for me is usually first thing I Do, I have OCD and if it isnt how i like it I get pretty annoyed and have to do it! lol

      It’s one of those things, it’s either clean or not clean, there’s no “half-clean”, so I can relate! I’ve heard that as long as the engine doesn’t sludge and services are observed, you can get some kms out of them. It may well be that the chains were changed on this one at some stage, as there was zero rattle on it and ran super smooth

    • @Vikturus22
      @Vikturus22 3 месяца назад

      @@nonrasputin9260 Very lucky on the chains then. Not many people these days are prepared to service cars properly and keep to times. I have a Mk7 GTI that I bought from flipping cars ( so essentially cost me $1000 lol ) but I tore the engine apart knowing chains were due soon ( on those engines anything close to negative 5 degrees off time is borrowed time. It was at -4.6) replaced timing chains, Upgraded turbo, did injectors, got schrick cams and Topmar pistons. I also replaced All fluids, coils spark plugs etc. Same with Suspension ( bilstein B6 shocks and all the bushings ) Service every 5000km or 6 months and It runs brilliantly! Its also had a exhaust and intake put on making Reliably 385hp at the wheels so a insane pocket rocket! If you ever come down to CHCH would be happy to give you a ride in it!

    Yup, love this sort of content. Great work! I know it has nothing to do with anything you did, but, are the doors on the left a different colour/resprayed? From this time stamp: ruclips.net/video/965WoKNx1xE/видео.htmlsi=3EwOmkB2Zz_BUAcA&t=1015 (not a fault pick btw! just curious!)

      Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! That’s all good, the front left guard + bonnet + left rear quarter + roof were resprayed by a good mate of mine, we had some difficulty blending it in as the paint had some minor sun exposure damage. So, the left doors are more like how most/some of the car was coloured. In most lights it was hard to pick up, good spotting! Cheers

      @@nonrasputin9260 It's great to see. I just finished watching the video, and i rarely can watch a whole video without getting bored, but i never get bored watching yours. @@hoon760 that’s an awesome compliment, thank you! I don’t know why people would hate the VE, I think it’s a great car with great road presence. My first Holden was a VE Commodore ex-police car, maybe 9 years ago, I’ve liked them ever since

    • @hoon760

      @nonrasputin9260 My thoughts, too. My uncle has a Vf sv6 wagon, and likes the Ve's for the steering. As he dislikes the Vf electric steering. He had a series 2 VF redline before that, and it was a real beast. But the Ve's i like. As there's a lot more options out there for them in terms of different models with different stereos, etc, that you can swap over as well as body panels from hsv's, etc. The Ve i have is my first car. It's only a 2010 International with the 3 litre 190kw motor. It isn't real gutsy, but it was owned by my family from new, and it has been extremely reliable. Still on the original chains with 227,xxxks. And it's all down to maintenance. A thicker oil is the trick to it all. But i look forward to seeing more of these videos. It's really cool watching these little rebuild videos on something close to home and not something in America. And i can appreciate someone putting in the work to preserve them as they don't make them anymore. Yes, there was a ton of them made, and still heaps to buy, but in 20-30 years, it won't be that easy.
