      @@nonrasputin9260 It's great to see. I just finished watching the video, and i rarely can watch a whole video without getting bored, but i never get bored watching yours. It's cool seeing the commodores more in depth. As i have a Ve commodore myself, and as much as people hate them, they're amazing cars.

      @@hoon760 that’s an awesome compliment, thank you! I don’t know why people would hate the VE, I think it’s a great car with great road presence. My first Holden was a VE Commodore ex-police car, maybe 9 years ago, I’ve liked them ever since

    • @hoon760
      @hoon760 2 дня назад

      @nonrasputin9260 My thoughts, too. My uncle has a Vf sv6 wagon, and likes the Ve's for the steering. As he dislikes the Vf electric steering. He had a series 2 VF redline before that, and it was a real beast. But the Ve's i like. As there's a lot more options out there for them in terms of different models with different stereos, etc, that you can swap over as well as body panels from hsv's, etc. The Ve i have is my first car. It's only a 2010 International with the 3 litre 190kw motor. It isn't real gutsy, but it was owned by my family from new, and it has been extremely reliable. Still on the original chains with 227,xxxks. And it's all down to maintenance. A thicker oil is the trick to it all. But i look forward to seeing more of these videos. It's really cool watching these little rebuild videos on something close to home and not something in America. And i can appreciate someone putting in the work to preserve them as they don't make them anymore. Yes, there was a ton of them made, and still heaps to buy, but in 20-30 years, it won't be that easy.

      @@hoon760 All very good points! Hey, the 2010 international is a great first car, and especially since you know the service and repair history, well worth holden onto! Cheers for the feedback, every car saved from the crusher is a small win, and in a way, these cars are part of a shared Nz/Aus history, as theres a huge fanbase over here. Thanks for the support, more rebuilds on the way...

      @@nonrasputin9260 The HFV6 could do with the PCY orifice drilled out too, GM chained the hole size in late LFX production to reduce likelyhood of the hole to get blocked (only by 0.8mm top hole) , so theoretically can be applied the LY7 etc from 2004 to 2014 engines, I did it on my 08 Wagon Ly7 v6 by machining a new clean new part then swapped it over, my car already had good service history too.

    the person that owned this before you was a bit of a feral not gonna lie ( my car cleaned every week and every second week leather Detailed) . The colour on the car is quite nice for a GM product. Also I thought all Alloytech engines were gonna fail regardless of service? Replacing the key fobs for me is usually first thing I Do, I have OCD and if it isnt how i like it I get pretty annoyed and have to do it! lol

    • @nonrasputin9260
      @nonrasputin9260  3 дня назад

      It’s one of those things, it’s either clean or not clean, there’s no “half-clean”, so I can relate! I’ve heard that as long as the engine doesn’t sludge and services are observed, you can get some kms out of them. It may well be that the chains were changed on this one at some stage, as there was zero rattle on it and ran super smooth

    • @Vikturus22

      @@nonrasputin9260 Very lucky on the chains then. Not many people these days are prepared to service cars properly and keep to times. I have a Mk7 GTI that I bought from flipping cars ( so essentially cost me $1000 lol ) but I tore the engine apart knowing chains were due soon ( on those engines anything close to negative 5 degrees off time is borrowed time. It was at -4.6) replaced timing chains, Upgraded turbo, did injectors, got schrick cams and Topmar pistons. I also replaced All fluids, coils spark plugs etc. Same with Suspension ( bilstein B6 shocks and all the bushings ) Service every 5000km or 6 months and It runs brilliantly! Its also had a exhaust and intake put on making Reliably 385hp at the wheels so a insane pocket rocket! If you ever come down to CHCH would be happy to give you a ride in it!

    I know it has nothing to do with anything you did, but, are the doors on the left a different colour/resprayed? From this time stamp: ruclips.net/video/965WoKNx1xE/видео.htmlsi=3EwOmkB2Zz_BUAcA&t=1015

      Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! That’s all good, the front left guard + bonnet + left rear quarter + roof were resprayed by a good mate of mine, we had some difficulty blending it in as the paint had some minor sun exposure damage. So, the left doors are more like how most/some of the car was coloured. In most lights it was hard to pick up, good spotting! Cheers
