@@TableTopBROs I've really enjoyed seeing your army coming together and then doing so well in the tournament. There are so many videos out there that do nothing but pedal negativity towards the hobby and Games Workshop in general. It's great that you are making content that runs counter to all of that. I don't think we're going to get a game in anytime soon. It would be an awful long journey to just play Warhammer. I'm going to take a break from the game, just for a little while. I will focus on my painting, because that is something that I can always improve.

thank you. i've done the next step on the assault marines, which gives them the blue tint. cant wait to get a couple more units up to par with the highlights as well. i do love the heavy infantry armies as well! I really like the look and feel of the army, but am going to drop some stuff, to fit in a 10x block of terminators. thanks i'm happy with the growth, and glad people are enjoying the hobby/gaming aspect on its own!

@@TableTopBROs Yes mate , every marine army needs a big squad of terminators. The terminator squad could be a good excuse for some heavy conversions.

ya i agree. i have been crunching numbers on the mixed terminator/veteran kill team, or the DW terminators, and unfortunately i think the answer is just a good old block of basic terminators. i was considering also the Assault Terminators, but decided. 10 chainfist termininators with 2x Missiles. cheap, versatile, and they can slap hard, especially with a well timed arrival with rapid ingress

ya for sure, i've never been the type to just build an exact 2k list, and then stop. i love to have options. currently building the terminators, so it wont be too long, but i do want to focus on finishing the paint on some of my staple units, before i get too carried away expanding!

ya man, 100%. no Ragerts lol. adepticon was amazing. i'm open to trying different things. i think for the new Sigmar League we are going to do 500 pts starting, then escalation up to 2k. the nice thing about 250 per week, is its basically 1 or 2 units, so fairly attainable. but we have done 1k starting for 40k, and then 100 pts per week as well. its really just what people like, and works best. my favorite has been 250 per week, for 8 weeks. start with nothing, 2k at the end. i do like the idea of our upcoming sigmar league, 500 to start, and then 250 per week though. the final week we are going to do a massive free for all game, which should be insane!

@@TableTopBROs I live in a rural area of Australia, and we have no access to FLGSs, everything is online. Unless, of course, we head to the nearest city, 4.5 hrs away. Escalation leagues, while a nice idea, don't feel a realistic option. Making a purchase each week/fortnight, considering current army performance and needs, would literally double the cost of the army. I suspect the best option for one like me is to escalate monthly @ 500 pts a shot, over 4 months. This would allow for items to get delivered (usually a week here), but has the downside of a lengthy league. Alternatively, buy the whole army and have a painting escalation league over 2 months, but this doesn't allow for mid-league army reorganisation, unless options are purchased - an expensive business. If you have/heard of any other ideas, let me know. I did run a club locally for 8 years, it closed almost 20 yrs ago now, ~20 members on the books. No one wanted to manage it, other than me - sounds like the GM/DM issue, everyone wants to play RPGs, but few want to run one (I have been GMing almost as long as TTGing) - it is a lot of extra work. At the time of closing, my work life had changed drastically, and I couldn't keep it running, but at least I can still GM weekly online. Cheers.

ya sportsmanship is always important. i always make sure the game is fun, either with friendly banter, or good spirits. the stream game on Wargames live was awesome, and i watched it back, to see how many mistakes i made... other than not using grenades on magnus, rules wise i did good, could have made a couple minor strategic moves differently as well. most importantly though, i felt like i did a great job representing the game, and good sportsmanship in a competitive setting! cheers

thank you. i'm glad i got some points decreases. last time i gained +5 pts, this time it was +30... i'd have loved to see some minor points changes to all the kill teams, but its clear GW is not really worried about deathwatch at the moment. could be because the codex is coming, or they are getting rolled in with agents of the imperium. but it was nice to see a bit of love!

you get one extra model, from what i've heard its always an extra intercessor, but only have like 3 people so far confirming they too, got an extra intercessor as the random model

thats awesome, sigmar is a ton of fun, and i know this edition looks even better. nighthaunt are super cool, and the models are awesome! i really like the felgor ravagers and they too are very cool, and very competitive. kill team is a load of fun, and great skirmish game!

ya GW has really stepped up their packaging game over the last few sets. the cardboard spacer, the book/card case, massive upgrades to keep stuff safe. it is a shame i still got a broken bit, but overall an upgrade for sure!

yes they are the easy to build assault intercessors, but i put old jump packs on them. (i dont love the new assault intercessor poses, but they are starting to grow on me, the backpacks especially)

no you're wrong. read the character/attached unit rules carefully. then look at calgars unit/datasheets. the victrix guard are part of calgars unit, but they do not possess the character keyword, so you can always pull casualties and allocate damage as you please, to the guard. the attached unit, is the intercessors, so they must all be dead, before you can allocate damage to the character (calgar), but again, because the victrix guard do not have the character keyword, you can allocate damage to them however you please. i have played in many tournaments, including recently Mayhem, which is where i took this list. over 140 players, and verified this rule with the judges. now you know. cheers.

no, this is a common misconception. listen to what i'm saying carefully, the Character keyword, and attached unit rules, are what restrict where you allocate damage. so you cannot allocate damage to a character, unless the attached unit is dead, or the attacker choses to, because of precision. those are the only restrictions that the rules require. so in this case, Calgars datasheet consists of 3 models, those models attach to a unit, calgar is the only model with the character keyword. so when you are allocating wounds, you must allocate them to the attached unit, not calgar. HOWEVER, the victrix honor guard, are part of calgars unit, but do not have the character keyword. so when calgar attaches to the attached unit, the victrix guard are still part of calgars unit, which is attached, but there are ZERO rules or restrictions that apply to them. so if you get hit by some weak attacks, you allocate the damage to the attached unit of course, but if you get hit with something powerful, you can CHOSE to allocate the damage to the victrix and take advantage of the 2+/4++ save. but after 1 of them dies, you keep the other one until last. so assume 1x victrix dies first, then the entire attached unit. now you just have calgar, and 1xVictrix. a single unit, a single datasheet, and no longer an attached unit. so now the Character rules restrictions no longer apply, and you can do whatever you want with incoming damage. so obviously you allocate damage to calgar, because he has toughness 6, 2+/4++ save, and 4+ feel no pain, because the other victrix is still alive. i know its complicated, but if you need to see it in the rules, look carefully at the part where it talks about attached units, and the part where it talks about allocating damage to a character. neither one of these rules has anything to do with calgar and the victrix guard, because they are a single datasheet, not an attached/leader unit.

why do you say that? makes a lot more sense to go through the list in 2 parts, so its large enough to read for viewers, otherwise its half the size, and the text is tiny. did you want a screenshot or something? legit curious.

@TableTopBROs its easier to look at your whole list and process it mentally, you break it in half with the dialouge in the back ground its alot to both read the list and keep up with the dialouge. If you put it all on one page; there are definitely ways to do so and have it be easily read, the viewer can take more time digesting the information in the list whilst absorbing your dialouge. Additionally while us heretics read the list, you can continue onto your game synopsis which will shorten your video run time

they average 35 hits... shooting or overwatch. thats 70 str 5 hits per turn, mine and his... they are good. and force battleshock. people just dont use them, because the internet says they are bad. in reality they are awesome. its 10 bodies, 20 wounds, and still have 30 str 4 attacks in combat. they are good. for sure. try them, you'll be shocked! everyone hates infiltrators, they deny all the secondaries, and dont have to do anything lol. they are auto include, minimum take 5. if you want to be competitive, take 10!

@@TableTopBROs so I played with them Albeit my opinion is skewed because I was playing against a lot of grey knights and power armor opponents. Assuming you have all 10 still alive and you get an average roll of 35 attacks, that’s only 2-3 dead marines or only 1-2 dead grey knights. The battle shock thing is cool but if you’re hitting a target that was about to use a strat, but it clears at the end of the turn so doesn’t affect scoring. Even in firestorm I thought they were just ok with the dev wound strat

@@Powaup so 36 hits against normal marines is 12 wounds, that is 6 dead guys. against grey knights its 6 wounds, which is 3 dead guys.. but you should be shooting them at what they are good at killing, not things with 2+ saves. correct the battleshock test is right away, so is best for stopping strats, which is good. its not amazing, since battleshock isnt that great, until it is. if you're going to use infernus marines with firestorm, and the strat, they should have a captain attached, so its free, saves 2 cp, and you should be using salamanders for the wound rerolls. otherwise statistically flamestorm aggressors are better, with the inbuild twin linked.

@@TableTopBROs Monument Hobbies blue? Yea I tried Macragge and it felt too dark. I tried metallic blue but settled with monument hobbies pro blue. I love it.

its actually a black prime, with zenithal white over top, and then the whole model is sprayed with frostheart contrast, then Sprayed between light and dark with talasar blue, and finally sprayed the shadows with celestium blue

ya man, it was actually even worse, because it was the player placed terrain, that really did it. if i would have gotten first turn, it would have been a much better game. him getting first turn, and pushing forward, into a barren, no mans land was just a really rough situation. he could have countered my terrain deployment, but instead sort of mirrored it. he also rolled really badly throughout the game. but he def learned from it, as we had a nice conversation after the game, and we were able to demonstrate a couple different ways he could have countered it instead.

hello brother, glad you found me! we are few and far between, but we do exist! haha. thank you for the kind words, once i have the highlights added in, the paint will look much nicer (my jump captains is my only "finished" model) as far as other detachments i've considered it, but i actually love blackspear. i have heavy bolters in all my veteran squads, and making them -2 or -3 ap, with 42" range using kraken rounds and plunging fire has served me well in almost all my games. i also think the teleportarium is one of the best strats in the game. getting to pick up any unit, or 2x kill teams is crucial for scoring secondaries, and offsets the lack of scouts. the sustained hits, lethals, and precision may be once a game, but i've had tons of situations where they were game changing. not to mention the thief of secrets is one of the best enhancements in the game, especially with all the damage reduction, and has served me well. follow it up with tome of ectoclades, 2x times oath, and reroll wounds on both, once per game... i think our detachment is one of the best, maybe even the best space marine detachment. i'm convinced that the internet is just wrong about deathwatch. i was hopeful that we would get a couple points trimmed off some of our units, but even how they are, we have a lot of powerful abilities. just have to think outside the box. cheers

its possible. we filmed some Combat patrol battle reports a while back. it was a ton of work, took so much time, and never released them lol. i'd like add battle reports though!
