    I'm surprised I've stumbled upon another Deathwatch player. I feel like there are literally dozens of us, as of late.
    The vehicles look great! Never thought of using grey instead of black as a base colour, but you make it work!
    As for the tabletop results, have you thought about running Ironstorm, given all the vehicles you have?

      hello brother, glad you found me! we are few and far between, but we do exist! haha. thank you for the kind words, once i have the highlights added in, the paint will look much nicer (my jump captains is my only "finished" model) as far as other detachments i've considered it, but i actually love blackspear. i have heavy bolters in all my veteran squads, and making them -2 or -3 ap, with 42" range using kraken rounds and plunging fire has served me well in almost all my games. i also think the teleportarium is one of the best strats in the game. getting to pick up any unit, or 2x kill teams is crucial for scoring secondaries, and offsets the lack of scouts. the sustained hits, lethals, and precision may be once a game, but i've had tons of situations where they were game changing. not to mention the thief of secrets is one of the best enhancements in the game, especially with all the damage reduction, and has served me well. follow it up with tome of ectoclades, 2x times oath, and reroll wounds on both, once per game... i think our detachment is one of the best, maybe even the best space marine detachment. i'm convinced that the internet is just wrong about deathwatch. i was hopeful that we would get a couple points trimmed off some of our units, but even how they are, we have a lot of powerful abilities. just have to think outside the box. cheers

    Damn, I have absolutely lost games in deployment and its a super rotten feel.

      ya man, it was actually even worse, because it was the player placed terrain, that really did it. if i would have gotten first turn, it would have been a much better game. him getting first turn, and pushing forward, into a barren, no mans land was just a really rough situation. he could have countered my terrain deployment, but instead sort of mirrored it. he also rolled really badly throughout the game. but he def learned from it, as we had a nice conversation after the game, and we were able to demonstrate a couple different ways he could have countered it instead.
