GSC seems to be a good option for rules, especially if you’re using a lot of GSC bits as a base for the conversion. Chaos is another obvious choice, and I’ve seen a blog with someone doing Skaven Admech which worked surprisingly well too.
What's great is how in the Old World lore most mortals didn't even believe the Skaven existed, but yet they did. Now the same thing can be said about the 40,000 millennia. Love it, thanks for sharing.
That's a cool looking mini. I made a squad of Space Rats by using a box of Stormvermin and leftover, less-human hands from the Neophyte and Acolyte Hybrid kits. The clawed hands really fit the Skaven aesthetic, and it is generally a quick and easy conversion. That paint job you've given your rat-boy is really cool and grim-dark.
For a video idea why not a Space Seraphon? Maybe using Tao parts to add a clean yet still religious-esque style to them (maybe using the bloodbowl seraphon figure because the regular ones are a bit outdated)
The December 2019 issue of White Dwarf has some Seraphon which have been converted with some necron parts to give them some extra future tech stuff, which is definitely worth the look :)
Love your vids. Conversions were always my favourite part of the hobby: smashing together WHFB and 40k kits was something I did a bit of: Chaos Warriors and Chaos Space Marines... it was meant to be! I think Eldar is definitely a good source of video content for you. There’s the aspect warriors which could use updating, as well as old factions like Corsairs and Exodites, and new like Ynnari (making them more unified rather that just Dark and Craftworlds models just mixed up with a similar colour scheme)
I remember yesterday thinking, huh, I should buy some skaven and use the genestealers cultists for clawed hands to make some space rat Boiz, and lo and behold you have a video on doing just that
Space Skaven: 7pts. M7 WS2 BS3 S3 T3 W1 A2 Ld6 Sv4+ Squads of up to 25. Mantic Veer-myn (and Ratkin) just work really well as a Rat Mutant Cult. Ratkin actually work great as Oldschool Skaven for Warhammer Fantasy, The 9th Age, etc, as well.
I have to say, it would be amazing if you did conversions similar to your plastic biovore for the various Skaven Weapon Teams and Skryre Acolytes. The models are ancient and mainly metal or fine cast.
Funny, one of the 40k original lore videos just made something called "Kreigers clear the Rats Nest" which a lot of people were apparently hoping were Kreigers fighting Space Skaven. Good timing!
Nice thought! Since GW has no rules for Space Skaven, one might use those minis simply as Chaos Cultists of a Death Guard army. I'd love too see GW catch this on an put 'em in just like the Tzaangor....
I recently saw the Warhammer mourngul figure (on forge world) for the first time and thought it would be an awesome conversion to a c'tan nightbringer. Happy new year dude.
i would like to think that these space skaven are chaos-tainted ratmen from the imperium. not sure about alinement, but if i had to guess, perhaps like a separate army of chaos undivided like the black legion and word bearers (along with their offshoot warbands)
I started making my own space skaven based on your video and it looks great, however it isn't very financially friendly. Making a full combat patrol of CheeseStealers will need many many acolyte kits. Still, great video and thanks for the inspiration.
Well, since you are asking for ideas: Ork: "our boss found a humi stompa and made it into his power armor" Tau: turn the weeb level to 250% und make a battle suit samurai Fantasy Chaos: a Gor chaos champion (a Nurgle one might be fun) Guardsmen: Regiment from a feudal world. Alternatively: a space marine chapter or an order of sisters of battle from a feudal world. Fantasy revamp: Dogs of War - Paymaster, just to have something that is completely our of left field. 40K in general: a rogue trader
I used a Tau Pathfinder kit for my Skaven auxiliaries which you can see on my IG - the_greensauce. Also, for heads that don't fit torsos quite right, you can use a tiny ball of putty under the head so that it squishes to form a 'collar'.
Great job on this one! Love to see that you want to convert some xenos! An idea I have had for a while is that Necrons are based on dynasties, but the GW range seems to go around an ancient egyptian style. However, the term "dynasties" is much wider than that! Imagine ancient civilizations like Aztecs kind of style added to the necrons! That would be awesome to see, and a fun challenge as well Keep up with the good job mate!
I'd love to see a necron conversion. Maybe a flayed one lord, like Sahtah the Enfleshed, or Valgûl the Fallen Lord. Both of them are interesting enough characters to warrant a model imo
Video Idea: A Felinid Imperial Guard conversion. No canon art of them exists so you can really get creative with it. Then make a kill team for both the Felinids and your Space Skaven for a cat vs mouse game!

for the Horned one-one!

I'm sure AoS skaven players would really like new sculpts. Plastic kits would also make Acolytes a valid choice, which it currently is not.

Skaven just seem to fit the 40k universe IMO. Huge overpopulated, futuristic cities should include large mutated, plagued rats
TBH I just kinda assumed if they existed in 40k, they'd be found at the lowest levels of hive-worlds, where mutants are plentiful.
