I'd love to see you do a series of the Dornian Heresy like you did for the various legion cultists. Just a single model as an example of each legion. That would be so cool!
Just looked up the Dornian Heresy. Am I the only one to find it amusing that the Lion is a loyalist in both timelines, but his loyalties are questioned by everyone regardless?
@@kappa6109 he is very loyal to the emperors vision of an enlightened humanity but he demanded absolute trust and faith even if you weren’t trusted by him to know plans His ships helmswoman literally followed orders blind at one point
There’s actually stl files of DH Ultras on cults 3d, 5 bucks more or less for 5 torsos and legs, shoulder pads with and without Ultramarine symbols and the heads. You’d have to source the arms from elsewhere, but they’re still awesome!
I personally feel like having a more classic khornate helmet would have looked better as the head, but you did a superb job with this kitbash as usual, keep up the good work!
I agree. Space marines without helmets are just lame as far as the head area goes and are not iconic like the helmets are. I wouldn't ever make any space marine without a helmet to be honest
If I remember right, that crest is something linked to the fighting pits of Nuceria, so that wouldn't necessarily make sense as it's 12th legion specific. An actual symbol of Khorne would be ok though.
@@Wortwort-Spooderbat I liked the head he used. If you look closely to it it looks demonic an more corrupted. But I agree with you aswell because I hate painting faces and helmets are just cooler.
I still havent fully understood why the rg were picked for the tzeentchian legion of DH. They are stealthy, pragmatic, and untrusted by their allies, but they still dont say "tzeentch" to me
I always preferred DH because it was an alternate take on the actual events rather than just a faction swap. I don't buy Guilliman falling to chaos he's too pragmatic and rational, the successionist route is a way better way of doing traitor Ultramarines. That being said I think it's cool there's more than one alternate history take on the HH.
The gory mix of typhus corrosion and blood for the blood god is genius and works so well, I'll be trying that soon. Also love that the skulls on the bannerpole are crying blood, its so khorne
This turned out amazing! I especially love how the battered axes turned out. You should definitely do more Dornian Heresy kitbashes. I absolutely adore your videos and you're the reason I got into this hobby but, Pete, could you please do a kitbash of the Black Templar Castellan? It's such a stiff and rigid model and it seems as though it's nigh impossible to customize/pose the arms differently without using a truck load of green stuff. I'm interested in how you'd approach him.
A big thank you to Cult of Paints "Painting Imperial Fists Space Marine" guide for helping me out with this particular scheme. Go check out their excellent guides: ruclips.net/video/MJ_ZzunCsPo/видео.html
10/10 work here, but now that you're doing DH I'm afraid to say... We're gonna need to see some of those DH secessionist Ultramarines (As well as some of those horrific Nurgle Blood angels, please)
This made my day better I love 4 dead animal bits conversions and watching the painting process especially how you did the axes. Thank you for this video. Also a Chaos Undivided or Khornite Black Templar could be cool.
I recently found your channel and your videos are phenomenal. You’re really making me want to get back into the hobby, if just purely for converting and painting single stunning models. I doubt I’ll ever play tabletop in any form again, but from a creative perspective you are inspiring me to get out the paint brushes and go wild. Your skill and knowledge are amazing.
Fantastic model! Both the original mini and your conversion. Hooray for your level of creativity! And great choice of shoulder armor - the spiked one is just insanely cool.
If you are kitbashing what if scenarios, I would love to see your take on a demon possessed Grey Knight. I know that this is not supposed to exist, but the idea of a demon powered Grey Knight just sounds awesome in my head, and with your skills I think it could be just as awesome as I think it should be.
Gotta love them "DEAD ANIMAL BITS." I just got my own box of Citadel Skulls, and they work a treat even for Figma, Gunpla, and Bishojo Plamo kitbashes.
For models that sport a yellow armor like this, what really works for me, is giving it an undercoat of pink in the shadows/midtone zones, and white as a zenithal. Then, you pop a yellow ink on it through airbrush, and you have an insane looking "not flat" and warm yellow. Saves the step of going all over the model with a glaze.
This was awesome! Loved the dive into this alternate dimension. If you're in the mood for another, probably excessively more, Khornate conversion, I would adore seeing you tackle the Dornian Heresy Space Wolves (Flesh Wolves? Blood Hounds?). I've seen a few conversions of them, here and there, and as both a SW and Khorne fan, they get me so hyped. Perhaps a Rune Priest as some kind of Khornate Daemon Summoner?
thanks for the great vide. What i would like to see are conversion videos for the older HH characters like Loken,Abbadon, Sigismund etc. Some of these have not aged so well and because of this newer version would be great
I'd probably opt for a Chaos Undivided conversion myself, but this Khornite one looks great overall! Loving the alternate timeline interpretations your channel has been doing.
FOR CHAOS!!! And now, what about the Roboutian Heresy with a conversion of Roboute Guilliman himself as the dark master of chaos? ; ) Proposition aside, your conversions and your work are a huge source of inspiration for me. You're juste soooo good ^^
hihi, not so much a surprise after your Community Post hinting into that direction and then your name in the WarCom article. Still awesome paintjob! Thanks for your inspiring conversions.
This is such a slick looking model. I would adore seeing you tackle a Dornian iron hands model, maybe if they ever get a fun character for 30k it would be a great time to attempt that kitbash
Never heard of Dorian Heresy before this morning. I'm looking it up currently, however as a long time fan I can see this as a possible alternative. Logar says "Father's right I'll embrace the Imperial Truth." Guliaman says "I built my empire and now it's his?" In addition some Loyalist had demons in there planets.
Alright call me a heretic now but as someone looking to spice up my combat patrol of them can we get some loyalist Emperors Children or “Pretty Marines”
Great video! Though the yellow came out too desaturated, almost green at parts. A good tip for painting yellow with an airbrush is to prime black, basecoat pink, zenithal with white, then paint the yellow on top. That will create pure yellow highlights and orange shadows in the recesses. Supposedly purple also works for this but I haven't tried it myself.
I would love to see the seccessionist Ultramarines with their Tau-esque armor and weapon! A Terminator+Crisis Suit or Centurion+Ghostkeel hybrid would be soooo good.
There's a lot of heresy going on here and all of it is badass. I got a big kick out of the subtle heresy of the application of a paint called iron warriors to an imperial fist. That's heretical in all timelines I think
Love the vid, i would love to see other legions, for instance nurgle blood angels look rlly cool and different than normal wh40k death guard.
