Zizai Resin fountain pen - Beautiful Material!
Whats the risn of springing the tines. Are you writing with normal pressure as you do steel nibs? Do one have to be extra careful with the pressure ?
Great review. I'm glad you went in depth with inspecting the body and threads. A lot of reviewers skimp on that and only focus on the writing experience. But as important as that is, the little things, such as build quality, can introduce minor annoyances that build up to be major compromises in the enjoyability of a pen.
Such an introduction! Thank you for the video. Now I will dream about Wing Sung 626
Wingsung 601a golden cap howmany prices, how to bay it.
Why was Tardiff's beautiful Neponset video taken down?!
Reviewer speaks about how good the nib is while at the same flexing nib and getting tons of issues classic ink starvation issues. Clearly the setup is not working, but dear review just keep going telling us how good the thing is. Well, I am not convinced. However, thanks for the video, it is very helpful. It made me to re-think about getting that jowo nib.
Cigar cases work well.
If you're looking for a softer nib, look for longer tines, generally about half the length of the exposed nib. Only way I've found. 😁 The Wahl-Eversharp nibs are easily my favorite gold nibs. Smooth, wet, just a joy to write with. Which esthetic do I prefer? I have had several, and it's really ultimately the one I'm currently using. 😉
Is that extra nib a Schmidt nib?
To bad your video posts Stopped in 2020 ....I would like to know what your 2024 Top Chinese fountain pens would be now.
Hello Aaron I have the same pen with the same nib (sf). It is very soft, even flexible. But, please can you tell me whether your pen has a little bit of feedback or not? Mine is a little bit feedbacky. It is not scratchy, but somehow toothy. How is yours?
The Ebonites not the Acrylics.
Good choice! The best of Live in You pens is their nibs made by Schmidt. Great nibs!
Happy you reviewed this. Just recently got a pre-owned one exactly as this - Firedance F nib w date code L. Means made in Q4 1993 - one of the first batches of the 1994 release.
I have that fuliwen pen in a purple, yellow and green swirl resin. Worst mistake I’ve made. The resin is ugly, don’t even know what really attracted me other than the cigar shape and that it’s clipless. But that’s not the bad part. The writing just sucks, that Fuliwen nib and feeder combo is pure crap, skips, dries, the tines are inconsistent, the flow is very poor. Sure, you can change the nib and section, but then I would prefer to build a frankenpen with another pen, really. Even being a cheap pen is too expensive for what it is.
Immaculate handwriting, and cool style. The pen is gorgeous with so much detail in that resin
What ink do u used here?
my favourite pen at present is a parker slimfold pen, which seems to write better than most others.
Have you had any problems with the gold plating on the clip? I want to get one of these and was just curious.. thanks
Very nice ink color!
I would like to hear something similar in 2023.
Solved my question on soft fine or soft medium! Thanks. I’m going with your recommendation! A soft fine it is! Thank you!
I wish PenBBS made pens without the same resin all over, as in say a white cap or the small knob on the back being another color. say like the oppus 8 koloro
Nice video. For me, this pen (as for almost all Pilot Pens) is a thing of beauty and understated elegance. Have one in SB nib, though I have learnt that these nibs are ideally for Japanese calligraphy. As you have rightly mentioned this is not a flex nib, has not been claimed to be one, but flexes much more than the Conklin All American Duraflex. Writing with this, needs getting used to as it is one of the lightest pens. But it is addictive. And once you are hooked there is no getting out. Thanks again for the good work done.
What ink did u use?
Very useful video and I now know what to do to have my own pens storage box! thank you so much for your share!
Thanks for sharing. The jinhao weight 27g with or without cap?
I love the nib of this pen too 🙂
Would a SF nib make sense for someone who prints when they write? I tend to print relatively small when I write and am not sure if an SF nibs makes sense or not. Is it possible to create similar line variations with an SF nib when printing?
For the longest time, I thought my "fountain pen fascination" season ("frenzy") that I was anticipating for... probably many years was going to take place much later in life. I have no idea why I was imagining getting into fountain pens like a decade from now as if "settling down" from a pretty busy life would suddenly give me time to enjoy fountain pens. But now I'm here and glad to say I chose my first fountain pens to learn on quite well. I have been quite enjoying my pen hobby of late. Because of preferences I had learned about my writing tastes, I chose 3 fountain pens to start out with. The one I have now refilled the cartridge with ink is the transparent and clear Pilot Kakuno with an EF nib. It writes such a fine line and I am so glad to be able to current use printer-quality paper as a regular journal for destressing on a regular basis. That and documenting things I'll inevitably forget is very helpful, too. Thanks for your reviews on these pens! I enjoyed getting to see what you really like using.
How does that filling mechanism actually work? I have a pen like that, but I don’t know how to fill it!
Thank you so much for this video. I am new to fountain pens and just got 5 Jinhao x750 pens from Amazon for $23.53. I love the FPR 1.1 stub nib and found this video when searching as to whether or not I could use it in my x750. I am going to order some and give it a try as they are more affordable than the #6 stub nib from Goulet.
Any size six nib should work unless it is some weird shape.
Nice work but no Asvine?
Aaron, thanks for this nice review. After seeing this, I realized I have a couple of these. Mine are unbranded so no telling who made them. The only difference is In the feed. Good pens but I'm going to have to modify the grip. Again, thanks for the review.
What price in India?
Thanks for a great video. I bought mine two years ago from Fahrney's Pens. I really love my pen. SF point writes wonderfully. I almost always use bottled ink.
I just got this pen in the mail today-love the color!
Great demo, which make want Pilot with SF or SFM nib as next purchase
Platinum Preppy: Pro: Feels good to use, light, easy to refill. Con: Cheap plastic that has a tendency to crack if tightened even slightly too much. Jinhao 599: Pro: Durable construction, feels good to use, easy to refill. Pilot Varsity/Pilot VPen: Pro: Both disposable and refillable. Con: Sometimes dries out to the point that the nib has to be wet every time it is used. Zebra Fuente
Great looking pen. I would love it if it had a nice clip on.
I keep hearing that fishing it that hard is really going to ruin the nib
Nice videos. I have two pens m800 and m700 that I would like to replace the nibs. Could you tell me what size should I get #35 maybe??? Do both pens use the same nib set?? Thanks in advance.
Anyone with experience using FNF S6E- XF #6 JOWO unit in an Opus 88 Omar? Fine art use experience?
What is the color of your penbbs 456(the one at the top) ? It looked stunning ! Is it dawn cloud ? Or cordierite ?
Still have my Sonnet Flighter CT from 1994 and it's still the best fountain pen I've ever had in terms of usability. Just perfect everyday pen.
Captions be like «this pin» «fountain» pin» pin pin pin, hehe, not that you’re not speaking clearly, but there’s noise around atm, just found it funny with the pin pin 😂 Great list btw, I’d say the majority of these are on my wishlist, definitely the Centennial and the C1, as well as the mag-fill, I just love demonstrators and especially eyedroppers, they just look so cool 😎 How many will I get this year? Yes, yes I will ✍🏻👈🏻👀👍
I've definitely seen that captions "whoops" done probably in most pen videos. Glad to see I'm not the only one to notice that. 😄🙂
I have the exact 3-drawer set up!!! Great minds….😊
It resembles the Monteverde Giant Sequoia, doesn't it???
mine got stuck and wouldn't go in further or out :( I think I ruined the FPR pen with expensive shipping I had! not sure if it's the nib or the pen that's the issue
Did you manage to take the nib out?
@@petersavchenco9826 yeah
grammar and spelling check: the plural of video is videos, no apostrophe! The apostrophe is only for possessive! I'm not sure what would be an example of that, a video possessing something, but that's when you would need that apostrophe. I cannot imagine why some people just decide (for whatever reason, I cannot imagine why) that that noun needs an apostrophe for the plural, while other nouns -- in the same sentence! -- do not need an apostrophe to become plural! Can ANYONE out there explain to me why only some nouns would need an apostrophe to become plural? Please? For example, why pen - pens, not pen - pen's? Ah, but Jinhao's, not Jinhaos? Why does that noun require an apostrophe to become plural? Is it because it begins with a capital letter? (Can anyone explain to me that rationale? "Oh, it's a proper noun. That's why it needs an apostrophe." Funny thing, I do not remember ever learning anything about proper nouns needing an apostrophe to become plural. Maybe you do? If so, please, remind me? I am pretty good at grammar and spelling in general, and I remember ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about proper nouns needing an apostrophe to become plural!!!!!
