Enjoyed your review. I'm going to sit this one out. The pen does not call out to me. Heavier than I like & that section, not a fan of chrome. I do enjoy my C1, M8, M600S, M800 & T1. Moonman has made some great pens lately.
I totally understand your stance on the pen! What makes this pen for me is the look and the nib is just as good if not better than my C1. Thanks for watching Chris!
As someone already mentioned, it looks like a more adult or maybe polished and elegant version of the TWSBI Go. Thanks for the video and I hope you keep enjoying this fountain pen. May you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy 🖖.
This feels like an "adult" version of the twsbi go. Hmm, wanted a Go for a really really long time, but it's availability evade me. I don't want to buy online (since it costs more) and I'm fine waiting. This one though, can be bought online for the same price. However, the "local" online seller sells it for $40, whereas in ebay it's only listed for around $20 with shipping. Hopefully, it goes down to around $20 in the near future so I can buy it as well.
Mine came in today in the brown color. Matched it with Sailor Studio #373 ink. I love this pen-especially the weight. And I got it with a medium Jinhao nib-very smooth. I’m so happy and thanks for your review! Yes a 5 rating!
I got mine in this week. I was really put off by the weight at first, but after using it a few times it's grown on me. Fit and finish is good on mine. Section is super slick, but I'm able to use my thumb as an anchor on the threads and use it. Still, I'm tempted to put some electrical tape on the grip just like I did on the T1. I have the brown version, and it's nice. Standard moonman fine nib, I made it wetter to suit my preference. Thanks for the review, man. I don't normally have a pen before I watch the review, lol.
Great review Aaron been waiting for a full review of this pen. Already have 2 Moonman pens and another in delivery. This may be another I have to order love the look of it. 😀
It's funny that you mentioned the silver nibs. When I got my moonman m600 purple it came with a gold nib. Didn't write at all out of the box. I got a replacement silver nib and it works amazing. It came almost like it was tuned. The tines came perfectly aligned and there was even that slight v-groove gap where the top of the nib is a little wider apart than the bottom (when looking straight on). I don't understand it.
Really enjoyed your review. I like larger pens and the weight doesn't bother me if it balances well in the hand. I have one on order and hope to enjoy it soon. Your review will make it much easier for me to use and maintain this pen when it arrives . Keep safe and well.
@@aaronspenvideos4420 just arrived, what a chunk! Was not ready for the weight of the thing. Looking forward to some red ink in there and giving it a decent try. First impressions are very good though.
The back of the barrel actually grabbed the plunger and would not release it. I didn't want to break the plunger. I finally got it to release, but the tolerances aren't correct.
Very cool pen! Probably be a PITA, but too bad they didn't do a "textured" section using the same material as the cap n barrel, alla the TWSBI 580 ALR.
My moonman C1 has become kind of a desk decoration because of how inconsistent its nib was with how susceptible to baby's bottom and running dry it was, and after I tried to fix those problems to no avail. Was that just a problem with the moonman nib I got and should I give them another try?
I would give it another try. Most of my moonman nibs have been excellent. There is always unfortunately going to be poor performers and I'm sure at one point I will be one of the unlucky ones. Hopefully your next nib performs better!
Padoru Padoru You can always get an Fpnibs nib ground to your specifications or a goulet #6 nib. It would be a shame to not use a pen because of one bad component, no?
Moonman nibs are quality control wise, great. Maybe you really had bad luck with the nib... so far out of like 8 moonman pens, all came in great straight out of the box. Other brands like jinhao, wing sung etc. came in with "slight" need of adjustment.
Pretty good review, I think like Chris though, it's not as appealing to me. Sometimes a review helps you turn off the libido and save some money, and that's good too! Thanks for this :)
Please, tell me if it hard starts over night. My M8 hard starts when left for a few days and it really bugs me, I am honestly a little disappointed with the M8 and I do enjoy the Jinhao 159 more, as a writing instrument.
No hard starts. I just finished writing with it earlier. I don't know why, but the gold nibs seem to be more inconsistent than the silver or even two toned.
@@aaronspenvideos4420 Thanks. It may be the plating, causing worse inkflow. Can't think of anything else because I believe they're the same nibs, just one is plated and one isn't.

Very nice and thorough review. I really like my C1 and M2 and this one looks like another Moonman heading into my inventory. Thanks for sharing.

That is my only long term concern with this pen is the section. Thanks for watching the video!
Try spraying the grip with Plasti Dip.
Thanks for the review, Aaron. Looks like it writes wonderfully. But how about a measurement of the section? How narrow does it get?
I will measure tomorrow and let you know
Great review Aaron, I was wondering whether or not to buy this pen, your review has covinced me to go ahead and buy it. Thankyou. ✌❤ Rob

It is definitely a nice pen!

Me neither. I rank the nibs silver, two toned, then gold. All three silver nibs I have recieved have been great!
Over 50g, whoa that's a really heavy pen by most people's standard.
I could see that being a deal breaker for some. I don't know if it is just my mind, buy the jinhao still feels heavier. Thank you for watching!
Hard to believe tocco ferro is still heavier

This is honestly what the TWSBI go should have been.
Lol🙂
It honestly is not. Twist cap, heavy and horrible chrome section. Long live the TWSBI Go.
The only reproach I can do to Moonman is the lack of en EF nib.
The back of the barrel actually grabbed the plunger and would not release it. I didn't want to break the plunger. I finally got it to release, but the tolerances aren't correct.
Enjoyed your review. Wondering what you thought of it versus the T1?
I have not purchased the T1. I may look at it later as a future purchase. I am really enjoying this pen though.
I’ve been waiting for your review 👌
Thanks for watching!
i've been eyeballing this one for a while, if i really get a stimulus check i'm gonna have to grab one.
I dont think you will be disappointed.
does the grip section feel slippery to you?
Cheers bro for sharing....stay safe and healthy.
Thanks, same to you!

If you can't fix the nib, switch. Good Chinese #6 nibs are around $1 like the Jinhao, up to 3-4 for a Moonman. Pity not to use a beauty like the C1.
@@aaronspenvideos4420 alright i'll probably grab a T2 fine for school when that starts back up. Do they come in EF?

Dude i feel the same way about the two tone nibs! Not as buttery smooth and wet as my c1' nib.
