Hey, would you be able to do one highlighting ALL areas, you didn’t cover, any of the south suburbs, Orland Park is considered a southwest suburb! Great video but let’s be fair and not forget about the south suburbs, you can find one! I believe in you!
no homewood?
Yeah I gotta get him together
It’s giving if it’s not white, it’s not right, smh!!
Flossmoor, Homewood, Crete, Lynwood, South Holland, Olympia Fields, Maybeeee Matteson but they be cutting up! Lol
@ for real 😂 they doing that on purpose or living in a box
@@walter29883lol 😂😂😂 I was blew
Big downside to Lemont and Palatine, are in Crook County....one of the most corrupt in the country 🙁
I miss home im looking to move back to Chicago myself but what neighborhood should i move to ? I love to live near the city
I did not think that I would ever see Lombard on a list such as this! We moved here in 1992 and absolutely love it. Great neighborhood, great schools and new library, with minutes of both the Prairie Path and Great Western Trail for biking, and on the days I commute to the city I walk to the train. SUPER affordable and a great place to live. Oh, and don't forget to visit Lilacia Park for the Christmas lights as well! And Shannon's Deli, and Babcock's Grove, Ground Level 105- all right by Gnarly Knots. Thanks for the Shout Out!!
Lakeview and Uptown/Buena Park are my favorites.
Live along the Beautiful lakefront and near public transportation. No need for a car.
Well done. Thank you.
The Villa, Chicago’s smallest neighborhood. It’s in the heart of the Northside and boasts “country living in the city.” The whole neighborhood is built in the arts and crafts style and is a quick 15 minute ride from downtown.
Problem is, you may live on a nice block, but the next block over is bad, or the next neighborhood over is bad. It’s very compartmentalized.
the schools have to have metal detectors..to keep out student guns and knives....over 300 shootings this year many more expected on New Years Eve....Ukraine is safer than Chgo.
The prices in Chicago are basically a reflection of who lives there. If you dont mind living around minorities then there are alot of great affordable locations to live.
Man for someone who's lived in the area a long time you've come up with pretty lame for/against reasons. FOR: Chitown is a sports town? Not anytime recently. All, ALL the teams suck. Cubs, Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks, and of course da Bears. Topography...how come you didn't mention Lake Michigan...it's our Grand Canyon for crying out loud. It's the reason the city was founded here, provides an ever changing panorama, endless entertainment. Music scene diverse and hot. Food: put it up against NYC and Frisco it's a dazzling array of lip-smacking eats and eateries anywhere. AGAINST: well violent crime hurts everyone and it's busting out all over. According to American Lung Association air quality ain't so good either. Da weather: pretty miserable from December to early March. There I've said some of them. Enjoy if you can, lol.
Humboldt park??? Em...Hell no! Check your crime stats.
I never understood wanting to live close to the loop. Once you've been there a few times its not that awesome. The neighborhoods are way more enjoyable. Moving from Portage Park to Uptown and I can't wait.
Other big cities are just as corrupt. Chicago is just better at exposing it.
Impressive
Can you recommend and area with a large Polish population, low crime, excellent schools, entertainment, Catholic Church, close proximity to Costco & stores, and lastly availability of Polish language school on Saturday? Thank you very much
It’s lemont not lamont
Just as a heads up Naperville is not a suburb. It is a satellite city. A satellite city is a city that was established on its own etc (was already around before the big city by it. Aurora for example is also not a suburb of Joliet all of these are satellite cities
SHITCAGO DO NIT MOVE IN SHITCAGO OR ANY PART OF ILLINOIS
Bruh i got exam tmr and i am watching this i mean whyy XD
Lombard !!!
The style and exterior of this house knocks it out of the park. If they removed the furniture, window treatments, painted and staged it, they probably could have gotten close to the asking price. They did well though.
Ul wana carry a gun
But….but….I thought Peter Parker lived in NYC. Has the webslinger come to save our Chicago?!
Great options!
Yo man what about Des Plaines????? You totally missed this town. It has a downtown, closer to expressway and trains, closer to airport , great schools affordable houses for the most part if you get a fixer upper. Horrible list
I’ll be moving there pretty soon and I consider this video really helpful. Could you make a video about the crime rate? I heard it’s pretty high😢
Geneva ,Batavia and St Charles.
I have lived in East Lakeview for 20 years, and I would live in any of the neighborhoods mentioned. Along the lake, generally speaking, the further north to south you go until you hit the Michigan Avenue area, the more pricey it is going to be. 2 areas not mentioned: Buena Park (a little pocket of south Uptown where I used to live) and West Rogers Park. Both of these areas are nice and certainly less expensive that Lakeview. Buena Park is right off LSD at Irving Park, so it is an easy commute to the Loop. West Rogers is a little more remote, but I have a friend there who is a first time home buyer that commutes daily to Lincoln Park.
Rogers park you will access to be robbed all the time…
I love it 💚💚💚
Tinley Park has lower property taxes and cool little downtown.
Lakeview also has the largest gay population in the Midwest. Sorry you did not mention that. Boystown is in the heart of Lakeview.
Hyde Park is a jewel. U of Chicago, Museum of Science and Industry, restaurants, architecture. Bronzeville the home of world renowned Illinois Institute of Technology and minutes from the home of the white Sox..
Lakeview is overrated imho. Everyone has different needs & I totally understand the pros of being in Lakeview..location is good, it's probably one of the most commuter-friendly neighborhoods in the city, if not the most. It is however one of the densest places in Illinois, and that for me is a deal-breaker. Also, parking is hell so someone who owns a car like me will suffer unless I have private parking. Furthermore, the crime rate has been on the rise lately, with muggings and carjackings. All-in-all, I can't afford anything so none of it matters at this moment in my life lol..I am a blue-collar suburban boy who got laid off and got a temporary job with a pay-cut. There's only a handful of neighbourhoods in Chicago I would live in anyhow, the vast majority are not for me. I also invested most of my money so I gave up my freedom of having cash liquidity. It will be an eon before I can buy a home..I doubt I can afford anything over $120k with these interest rates & useless HOA's goin around. Cheers, thanks for the videos Peter!
I think this is a fine video, but I don’t know if it’s fair to call Uptown and Roger’s Park underrated. If you want to do the whole North/South/West neighborhood thing, I think the more underrated neighborhood would be: McKinley Park in the south - right by orange line, Chinatown, and large park Bucktown in the west - it’s where all the early white collar families are headed And Lincoln Square - more diverse housing stock and has its own central business/community area along Lincoln
I think you missed Beverly.
I knew you were going to stick with north side neighborhoods. What about south side? Beverly? Mt Greenwood? Pilsen?
LOL. Hasn’t anyone noticed the horror stories about property tax increases in Cook County. Stay away from Illinois!
Nothing in Illinois or Chicago is worth it. The crime is through the roof!!!!
You don't know what your talking about.
Really wish the cities would get rid of on street parking. Cars are a nuisance in a city with great public transportation.
Just stop
1. Naperville 2. Winnetka 3. Oak Park 4. Orland Park 5. Barrington
Piotrek ty wirzysz w co mowisz. Ludzie uciekają z Chicago i Illinois
Half of these have higher than average crime rates, no thanks.
I used to live in Lakeview nice area I moved to Plainfield. Most the youth will move from Plainfield to Lakeview, Old Town or the Gold Coast.
@@christinecoleman6460 Fulton market, bucktown, wicker Park, Lincoln Park, river north.. (basically anything north of cermack Street)
What about muggings in Lakeview being up by over 55% so far in 2024? 🙄☹️
Hahaha, you sound foolish. I live in Lakeview
I grew up in Evanston and have lived in the Chicago area for 50+ years. You forgot my favorite neighborhood where I lived for 16 years - Edgewater! I could write several paragraphs here, so I will leave it to your viewers to PLEASE explore this amazing area within walking distance of Loyola University, the Lake, awesome public transportation, diverse population and restaurants.
