Old patrick was a bit dumb qnd goofy, but modern patrick is just stupid. Like- why did they give him that ONLY tooth in the sandy movie? That makes him look like a baby.

Patrick lost his charm when the show lost its wit and comedic timing with its dialogue.

Patrick in season 1 definitely lost a quality that he only had in it. He was supportive of spongebob but had a sense of that "trust me bro" wisdom to him that made him funny because he was not wrong, but just ignorant. He was only dumb when stuff happened that he didn't keep up with, but in a clever way. While he got dumber in season 2 and 3, it was still saved by his wit in it. Later seasons just make him a dumber version of baby-like flanderized Spongebob that is over-the-top yelling and chaotic slapstick at all times. His old humor came from his dialogue and misunderstanding of stuff that still played into the plot (like when he confuses spongebob for the manic in the hall monitor episode. It was dumb but logical because they set it up for Patrick to be afraid of Spongebob's wanted poster that just said "Maniac" but not getting that it was Spongebob on it.) Or how in season 2 and 3, his dumbness was played with a straight-face, so it didn't feel like they were forcing it. Like when he can't open the jar or when he wouldn't take back his wallet.

The writes just ignore that Spongebob is supposed to be an adult with child-like enthusiasm to things. Instead they make him just a screaming child now. Old Spongebob was usually the voice of reason at times, or shown a strong sense of responsibility at times when nobody else would. Like the speech he gives about violence, when Flats faints (before Mrs. Puff thinks he punched him.)

It wasn’t just dumbing down him but over simplifying. were in the older episodes Patrick was stupid but still had substance, he was a supporting character for sponge bob and could be funny without every joke being a “oh Patrick is dumb or Patrick likes to eat” like the misery box episode were it’s him being stupid but also being an actual person and not just the character like he is now.

i noticed despicable me 4 seemed a bit.... nothing when i watched it and this video pinpoints exactly why i thought that in the cinema cool video, 10/10

Actually, Joy isn't an antagonist at all. A protagonist is defined as the leading character and the antagonist is the character who opposes the lead character. Since we see the entire first movie through Joy's perspective, she is the protagonist the entire way. Protagonist does not mean hero. Antagonist does not mean villain. That's not saying Joy is a villain either. Her needing to change in the movie and then actually DOING that and fixing her beheavior doesn't make her a villain. I'd say a false protagonist is the right term for her, but saying she's an antagonist or antagonistic force doesn't really fit.
