As someone who hasn’t watched it i think it alright. Kids and adults may have a good time with this. Still wondering why they cast prat as Garfield tho.
Garfield fan here: it’s really good unless you go into it expecting it to be really good, it’s significantly better when you watch it slightly ironically
I like this movie too, funny all around, doesn't go above and beyond to be more than what it is. I like how simple the villain is, her design, her necklace, her pettiness, and being her own downfall is refreshing, especially when compared to the current normal of "complex villains who are just people like you and me." And her song in the end credits, I feel, should've been in the movie and it looked like the team knew exactly where to put it, but chose not to, for whatever reason. I literally whispered to myself, "If you love him, you'll let him go" at the scene you're talking about. I agree, John was shafted in this movie, but I'm not bothered with it. Ah, you catched Nirmal (sorry if I misspelled) too, good. I thought I just imagined seeing him.
The villain reminds me of the villain in emperors new groove and the scene were Garfields dad told he’s side of the story actually made me very emotional almost made me tear up The film made me chuckle 4 times And it was a fun time 7.8/10 Btw film has a 60 mill budget and it already made 100 million….yeah its gonna be a hit
Yeah, I feel like people saying the Garfield movie is the worst thing ever is probably just for bait. I mean, it’s not the next Toy Story, but it’s still a good movie.
Yeah, John and Garfield's dynamic was rather underdone in the story. I also wish they would've remembered to include Lyman since Odie just appearing into Garfield's life was rather unexplained.
Thank you for giving a positive reaction to this movie. I really don't get why so many reviews are talking so badly about it. Did they not just sit back and enjoy the movie? Anyways, personally, I loved The Garfield Movie. So did my sister. I think this is the movie that Garfield himself and his fan base deserved. The world has been waiting 35 years for Garfield to have his own animated full length movie, ever since Garfield's Judgement Day got cancelled. In other words: It's About Time! And I'm really happy with this movie. Sure it's nothing particularly over the top or groundbreaking, but the movie is true to what makes Garfield the cat, Garfield the cat. Besides, Garfield's own creator Jim Davis was the executive producer. It's funny, enjoyable and a bit heartwarming. I do sense that they played it safe with this movie by keeping the story and the animation a bit simple, but I think that actually helped the movie overall. It makes the movie that much more relatable to the comics and the original popular show of the 1980s. As for the voice acting, I thought everyone actually fit their respective roles including Chris Pratt. Lorenzo Music will always be the undisputed best voice of Garfield, but (unlike the 2000s Garfield show, which I simply got used to Garfield's husky voice) I actually feel like Chris Pratt is a worthy successor to voice Garfield. I honestly think he pretty much nailed it and actually sounds like Garfield. I'm also excited to see the sequel they promised at the end. Since this movie was a bit safe as there was no guarantee to how the public would respond, I can imagine (that after The Garfield Movie's clear box office success) that the sequel will be a bolder movie building on this film's establishment's success.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you so much, could not agree more with my favourite movie of the year so far! And I’m not even a huge Garfield fan, and I love this movie! :-)
So first the budget was 60,000,000 and as of me commenting this it’s at 100,000,000 and a month before the movie was released it was announced that a sequel was already being produced
Okay, I need to ask these 2 questions to see how much of a fan you are (from the perspective of someone who grew up with the 3D show & thinks the comics aren't funny) 1. have you played Garfield+ (it's actually pretty good if you haven't) 2. what do you think of that one obsessed garfield fan joke in family guy
Did you like the Garfield movie?
It was pretty good

This movie didn’t make me loose my faith in humanity. That was already lost in the Mulan remake.

1:26 The LEGO Movie was produced by WB
Thanks, that’s my bad

So first the budget was 60,000,000 and as of me commenting this it’s at 100,000,000 and a month before the movie was released it was announced that a sequel was already being produced
People are hating on it entirely because there's a crispy rat in it
