My Favourite Cosy and Spooky Books for Autumn Plus Autumn in Devon: Visiting Dartmoor National Park
I’ve read 39 warrior cats books by this point, I’ve personally enjoyed them! Warriors Into the Wild is the first book, the later ones do not explain much so it’s very important to read it to understand what they are talking about 💀😹 Edit: the order of the books can probably be found in the end of the book. It’s important to enjoy the journey and not be intimidated by the length of the series. (If you are interested, that is.)
Jane Austen Choose Your Own Adventure...and choosing your own beau 😉 I love it! I didn't watch the entire video as I still have a few Austens to read (Northanger, Mansfield, Persuasion) but I can't wait to return to this video once I have read them!
I'm so happy to see you, Jack! 🥰 Alice was a lovely person, and it is heartwarming to hear you sharing how special she is to you because she will always be with you. You have been blessed with making wonderful memories with Alice, and those memories are now treasures. While I hope that you and Gemma will continue with FOMO, I understand if you choose not to because Alice will be sadly missed. I am still planning to read the last two books for this year as a way to remember Alice. I'm grateful Alice's channel is still available because there are so many videos I still need to watch. I found this quote comforting after my best friend died in November. "The risk of love is loss, and the price of loss is grief. But the pain of grief is only a shadow when compared with the pain of never risking love." ~ Hilary Stanton Zunin Hugs and much love to you, Jack. ❤
Well that went well!
Right? 😂
I love that book. I’ve read it multiple times and enjoyed it each one! You should also read ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar (if you haven’t already read it) I also recommend Two Wolves and Scar Town by Tristan Banks. 🤪
Holes is also amazing! Thank you for the other recommendations 😁
@@spreadbookjoy No problem!
Hi Jack 🙋🏻♀️, What a fun video!! I really thought you had Henry Tilney! I really enjoyed this book. I'm going to try and get a copy. XXOO
Thanks Kelly! It was lots of fun. Hoping for Tilney or Wentworth next time 🤞
@spreadbookjoy Jack I know Tilney and Wentworth are waiting for you!! 💕💕
❤❤
Ever since you told me about this book, I’ve been curious so I was excited for this video. Sooo fun!!! 😊💙
Glad you enjoyed it! It really was fun! 🤍
That was so much fun 😊
@@novellenovels oh good! I’m glad you liked it Em x
This sounds fun--except for your ending! And I disagree that you should be deducted so many points for being SENSIBLE (and a rational creature)! I'm with you: Team Wentworth & Tilney all the way. So now we'll need another video as you try again. Ha! 🙂
@@LedgerAndLace I’m glad you enjoyed this - it was fun! Though my tragic ending was not what I expected! 😂
This was fun! I am going to look for this now and see if I can get my own copy to Choose an adventure! 🥳
@@novelideea it really was fun! I am going to try and capture Captain Wentworth’s heart next time! 😂
@@spreadbookjoy just don’t end up with a concussion only to wake from it and fall in love with someone else! 😜

❤You have my full sympathy for the loss of your (our-but only virtual for me) Alice. Take all the time you need to grieve. Thank you so much for your past and future books with Alice. Take the greatest care. 💔📚
Thank you so much 🤍
❤️🩹 Jack, it is good to see your face again. Thanks for this heartfelt tribute to Alice. Thank you also for talking about the impact that our friends have on our lives. I’m sending you big hugs.
Thank you so much Lindy 🤍
hello buddy ♥️ great to see you. this was a beautiful tribute to Alice and I’m very happy you’re back xxxxxx
Hi Amelia - thank you so much. I’m glad to be back 🤍
Loved this video. A wonderful way to remember Alice. I am hoping to read Demon Copperhead myself. Let me know if you are up for a buddy read. Perhaps we can do it as a way of remembering Alice, together. Sending you lots of love, friend. 😊💙
@@BookwormAdventureGirl a buddy read sounds great. I think she would have loved that - she was such a champion for that book! 🤍🤍🤍
Lovely review. I started reading it on the train home from the launch. Delightful so far.
@@scallydandlingaboutthebook2711 delightful is exactly the word for it!
Well said Jaq 😊
Thank you Julie 🤍
Sounds like a fun book 😊
@@RovingRedhead it really is!

@@readingoffmyshelf2088 it is such a lovely read!
❤️
So sorry to hear about Alice! Thank you for sharing about her and her books!
Thank you 🤍
Great review, I enjoyed Katie's first and I'm loving the sound of this one too - loving the idea of the humour while keeping the important social commentary.
She balanced it really well!
We should all be so lucky to have a wonderful friendship such as you have! Beautiful memories and anecdotes about Alice! I hope Gemma and you keep bringing great content
Thank you so much. It was such a special friendship and I feel fortunate to have had it. Gemma and I will do our best 🤍
❤
Great review sweetie and I’m so excited about the book 🎉🎉
You will love it
Lovely video Jack, great to hear about your wonderful friendship with Alice. Sending lots of love xx
Thank you so much. I feel so very grateful to have had such a wonderful friend 🤍
It sounds intriguing.
I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Sounds delightful & so quintessentially our Katie 🤓😊
@@melissahouse1296 very much so! It’s a wonderful read!
Wonderful review, Jack! Very thoughtful. Loved your discussion of the themes.
@@BookChatWithPat8668 thanks Pat! There were so many more themes to discuss but couldn’t mention them without spoilers! It’s a great book!
❤
Lovely video ❤
Thank you 🤍
Thank you for this excellent review, I've been hoping somebody made one and set my expectations prior to me reading it. Katie writing in Austen's style is definitely something I will be in the mood for at some point in the coming weeks. 😊
@@GunpowderFictionPlot there was a lot more to it but did not want to risk any spoilers - it was a lovely read and look forward to your thoughts!
Lovely video ❤ miss her channel too…… I have a tabby too ❤
She is sorely missed. I am biased but tabbies are the best! 🤍
Hi Jack 🙋🏻♀️ , What a great review! You gave us just enough information to really peak my interest. I am looking forward to reading g Katie's ne Novel. I like the fact that it explores the poorer people/ lower classes . The little love mysteries sound fun. I was a fan of The Secrets of Haretwood Hall. The new book sounds even more interesting. 💕💕🦋
@@kellyoconnor1035 I think you’ll really enjoy this Kelly. It was a lovely read!
@spreadbookjoy Thank you, Jack. I trust your recommendations. I have been looking around trying to find where I can Pre- Order here in the States. PS- The Pub with the Bookshop inside sounds wonderful ! 🦋
Alice was such a wonderful person. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Thank you so much 🤍
Lovely review Jack! This is hard to resist!
@@sallyhughes4803 thanks Sally - it’s a lovely read!
LOVED her first one and have had this new one pre-ordered forever. I knew it was going to be good, but it's great to hear your review!
@@LedgerAndLace thanks! It’s a really great read - so much more to it but didn’t want to add any spoilers!
I still have no words so here's my emoji ❤ Alice was so warm and smart and sweet. I never knew her in person but I watched her videos almost from the start. I'm so sad for her mom and for her husband and friends.
Thank you 🤍
Great review lovely. Katie’s books are always such a treat. I have slowly started this but I think I am going to pause & head to the audiobook and re-listen from the start as I know Olivia Vinall has narrated it and I loved her narration of Secrets ❤️ So will start that Thursday. Looking forward to it.❤️
@@CharlieBrookReads I think I will treat myself to the audio
Looking forward to getting my copy. Thanks for the great review.
@@BookishTexan I hope you enjoy it! There’s so much more to it but didn’t want to give too much away! Look forward to your thought!
❤ Thank you so much for sharing. ♥️

Sadly I hadn't heard of Alice's channel until after her death, but so many booktubers have had such lovely things to say about her she must have been a genuinely lovely person ❤
She really was. I hope you are enjoying her videos 🤍
💙💙💙
This was such a lovely video! You and Alice were so connected! Thank you for sharing that connection with us. ❤️
Thank you so much - she was such a wonderful friend
