I love the way this artist paints those little patches of sunlight on the ground or on the face of the little girl. The colour of the light itself is so dusky/twilighty. That against the dark of the surface is so ...stark as you put it. It's lovely.

Just brought this book today and read it with my 6 year old and it was great, she really really enjoyed it and we had a lot of fun discussing the different angles!

💀💀What a delightful book! I'm familiar with some of Klassen's previous books, but this one was new to me (which makes sense, since it was just released!) I may put this on my list for possible gifts for some younger members in my family.
