Your method of debaffling might be different. I bought this bike used and the privious owner had the exhaust pipes modified so they were just straight tubes with no rooms, no catalytic, nothing inside. They were absolutely loud being straight pipes.

Hi, did you mean the seat on the chrome bike? It is the original kawa seat that I had it flattened and reupholstered at a local bike seat shop.

Thanks :) It is because I replaced the spark plugs to Brisk gapless race plugs. It's harder to start when cold but never fails to start. Been 3 years and the battery is still the original one. No replacement needed.

@@ArtTerekhov The design of this sparkplug will ignite simultaneously 3 times so it ensures cleaner combustion which translates to a little more but noticeable power. I put them in all my bikes. The engines also run smoother across rpm range. And it's more convenient because the plug life is 30,000-40,000km per a service cycle instead of 10,000 of a standard plug. So I don't need to remove the tank to replace the plugs as often.

Hi Mark, Thanks for your comment. The new W800 sounds great and almost as loud as the Beet Japan , and it's still under the legal limit. While it's tempting to try the drilling mod and see if the sound improves like people did with the old model, it seems to be more complicated to do. I saw a member drilled into his new W800 exhaust but he couldn't remove the tube out no matter how. It seems to be certain that the new muffler is different and the old drilling mod doesn't work the same way. I don't know what happened to the guy's bike in the end because nobody could help him. It could end up being his big mess up and a lot of regret.

@@sapadapas Good to know.. though I felt bad for the guy who tried it himself. I really appreciate your reply and thank you for sharing the info. One way to be sure is to buy the whole exhaust of the old model and do the mod on it. It might be costly and may not guarantee a satisfying result in the end though. But I am still curious, because I just love a classic burble sound.. XD

@@markanthonynario5447 Beet Japan has just come out with an exhaust system for the new W800 😊 After a year passed by, I thought they would not make it anymore. Check their website 👍 Anyway if you are going to mod the old exhaust, please note the different position of the O2 sensor. KAWI moved the sensors to the exhaust headers and there are 2 sensors now. I guess you are already aware. 👌

It's louder and I'm certain never louder than any legal limits. Because I have other 800cc and 900cc bikes with aftermarket exhuasts that fall within legal limits and they're still a tiny bit louder than this rebel 500 exhaust on the 300 model.
