Test the waterproof, dustproof, JVC GC-XA2 action cam as a traffic DVR cam recorder. The camera is mounted behind the windshield to protect dust and elements from damaging the front lens. The white round orb you see on the bottom of the frame is the scooter's automatic headlight sensor. The video is considerably stable due to gyro image stabilizer in the JVC camera, and way better than other cams. The shake is due to massive vibration of the scooter's 400cc single cylinder engine when mounting the cam directly on the bike.
I open the battery door and hook up a USB cable to the scooter's USB port to power the unit. This JVC unit can be set to record in loop. There is no shut down problem with overheating. I believe problem is due to battery getting too hot so I remove it, using only power from USB, and never encounter the problem even at blazing hot noon in Bangkok, Thailand.
