I believe that the reason why the Lover set was the first part of The Eras Tour is because that was the real concept she thought of for the cancelled Lover Fest.... and maybe MAATHP/Cruel Summer was also her opening song if there was a Lover Fest that happened. Anyway, The Eras Tour is just so amazing, we're reliving all of the eras one moment at a time.

Yes! Listening to TTPD is like talking to Taylor when she's a little drunk and pretty sad but still a bookworm and smartypants who she never stops to be. She's just revealing her feelings to you but in her usual somewhat cringey funny elegant and overdramatic manner. I think Taylor as an artist got to a point where she can just be herself for a minute and let public do the work of understanding if it's good or bad or genius. Also ttpd feels like a big closure somehow, like she's finished a pig chapter of her live, and said everything she wanted to say abt it. And it's also the most reflective work of hers, trying to embrace the pros and cons of being Taylor Swift. Her personality, after all, one of the most interesting parts of her art, cause she's childish and naive and overdramatic but brilliant and smart at the same time, so big and loud yet so quiet and sad, petty and generous, bookwormish yet loving to party and being observed. So in terms of showing who she really is ttpd is priceless

I would attend Roskilde Festival in 2020 to listen to Taylor Swift but I would imagine that the Lover Fest was more anti-climactic wrt. the previous tours. Now, four years later, I will finally listen to her in Hamburg in July, taking revenge on the covid 19 pandemic.

This album really only caters to her and the fans that supports her no matter what she releases which explains why I and the general public don't get the "masterpiece" claim.

This is my problem with swifties, if you don’t think the album is a masterpiece it’s because you are an idiot who doesn’t understand it. Couldn’t just be that Taylor is not perfect and her work might have flaws? I know there’s people who hates her music just because it’s hers, but can I, as a fan say that this is not my favorite record and it’s a shame because I’ve seen her doing better? It’s interesting what you mentioned about the lore of the album. And swifties should know that, an album is not better or a masterpiece just because you got an inside joke, it only means you have lots of free time 🤦🏻‍♀️

My boyfriend at the time bought us tickets to go to California on my birthday for Loverfest, and he made this adorable gift box with a chain of paper rings in it and it was so sweet. It would've been so perfect. And then COVID had to ruin everything, and I haven't been able to see The Eras Tour in consolation which is upsetting lol. I don't think he ever got his money back for the Loverfest tickets, either. So thanks Ticketmaster ya scummy bastards

I agree with virtually everything you said except for TTPD not being suited to touring- the ttpd set has quickly become one of my absolute favorite parts of the Eras Tour. It’s so theatrical and dramatic it makes my theatre kid heart sing/ calls back to her country days w how much storytelling you can pick up on

I think people are taking their criticisms overboard. You made a good point about shifting her songwriting from equally focused on melodies and lyrics to mostly focusing on lyrics and kind of throwing melodies to the wind on some of these ttpd tracks. Personally it's not my cup of tea but I'll stick to my favorite of her albums (rep, lover, folklore). people just have to go crazy with their hate

I guarantee you that if loverfest happened many of the underated songs on the album like I think he know, afterglow, etc. would’ve gotten the right recognition they still deserve to this day

I think this tour could have led to many controversies and fan disappointments if It ever happened. Everything happens for a reason.

tbh i think she just doesn’t have a lot of presence. we know nothing abt her, her undefined aesthetic says nothing abt her, her undefined sound and music say nothing ab her, her voice isn’t distinctive, there’s nothing to latch onto.

Khloe is definitely Alex Roldans daughter she looks exactly like him and I don’t see the resemblance between her son and brother everyone is talking about I think he just looks like Khloe when she was a baby. I’ve always thought Kendall is Todd’s bio daughter she resembles them both more than Caitlyn Jenner (previously Bruce Jenner) Kylie and her Jenner siblings have the same jawline as Bruce and Kendall doesn’t her face shape and features are different she’s also taller than Kylie.

I think its so sad that a tour got cancelled while the eras tour is something worth seeing its so sad, she spread the hype for a tour for her lover album which I think is a good album and then it got cancelled and its sad that afterglow was meant to be performed on the lover fest but isn't on the eras tour setlist as that is such a good song

Looking at the leaked stage plan, the Eras Tour stage up to the end of the diamond look very similar, and almost none of the songs from the Lover Era went past the end of the diamond. The Archer was the only song. Nice little documentary. We'll hear about it in due course I expect, you also have to consider that Taylor doesn't do all this organisation herself she might put out the idea and her team will then run with it. I would suggest that she didin't want to stray very far from her mother tbh. She was promoting the album more by appearances at iHeart Radio Wango Tango, Prime Day Concert and City of Lover in Paris, also the BBC Live Lounge was unusually held in the USA rather than in UK. She really didn't want to go far.

I was never going to be able to make it to Loverfest but I was able to attend the Eras tour by some miracle so it worked out for me. I'll always sympathize with Taylor for having to cancel the Loverfest and all her work. I'm always curious about it. I can't imagine things Not working out like they did
