Oshi No Ko Has One of the Endings of All Time.
Oshi No Ko has finally ended, and the story has definitely concluded with an ending. Aka Akasaka finished Oshi no Ko, Yokoyari Mengi drew Oshi no Ko, and Weekly Young Jump published the last chapter of the manga.
All in all Oshi no Ko ending was explained in the last chapter of the manga which concluded the story.

Re Zero is on the menu today. With the 3rd season of ReZero coming in full force, I got the urge to re-watch the whole series :) I never had a strong opinion of ReZero before, but with new lens, plenty of new episodes to add on top, and a new best girl *Echidna* - Rem is done, ReZero managed to win me over. #rezero #rezerokarahajimeruisekaiseikatsu #echidna Follow me on Twitter: Syl...
Why Bad Endings in Manga Are Normal.

It's normal for manga to have bad endings. While it's terrific when a manga has a good, cohesive story from start to finish, it's not hard to see why many mangaka struggle to end their works. From burnouts to artificially lengthening their manga to even getting bored of their own creation. Let's look into why this happens. Endings are hard to write, but not really. They Finally Meet! Ruby X Kamiki | Oshi No Ko Chapter 147

Oshi No Ko Chapter 147 Review. Well, well, well, Hikaru Kamiki finally put on his walking shoes and officially met one of his children. There were many interesting things that happened in this chapter, but in this video, I want to focus on two big events: Did Ruby recognise Kamiki? And if so, was their meeting planned? And did Kamiki really want to not-alive Ruby right then and there? #oshinoko...

Oshi No Ko Dropped the Ball. I know I haven't talked about Oshi No Ko for months, so I thought I'd make an update on it :) No, no, this isn't about the "incest." I don't really care too much about that. It's rather about the manga's overall inconsistency, be it the characters' behaviour, which is all over the place, or the mystery aspect, which has been pushed out of the window entirely. With e...
Does An Author's Intention Matter?

Merry Christmas everyone - It's not a very Christamsy video, but what can I do :) Does an author's intention matter? What I mean by that is: Does it matter what an author wanted to portray/convey/imply through their work? Or it depends on what the audience understood? When we watch an anime or read a manga (or any form of media) we tend to interpret things in our own way regardless of what the ...

For how much I love Durarara, a video on it was long overdue. Comfortably sitting as my 2nd, sometimes 1st, favourite anime of all time, there are so many aspects about it that I could talk about. When Visual Effects Are Too Much. I didn't think there would be a day when I would complain about anime doing too much. I guess there is a time for everything. Poor visuals can definitely take away from the watching experience, and I think everybody can agree with that...but what about when t...

Frill Shiranui Is Kamiki's Daughter?!

Is Frill Shiranui Kamiki's Daughter? Okay, okay, I swear I'm not losing it guys. It may look like a crackpot theory, but there are some excellent arguments and shreds of evidence as to why this could be true. Given that Oshi No Ko loves to show great mothers...this might be right on the money. It all starts with Airi Himekawa. The one and only Taiki's mother and Hikaru Kamiki's..."lover". What ...

The Best Detective Manga You've Never Heard Of
Here's to hoping the anime will have a different ending lol!
You know this ending only slightly makes sense if you push up the incest like if aqua only faux romance ir feelings to kana and actually loved ruby with 100 percent disregard then he off himself cause he knew he tarnish her being the perfect idol... Because remember idols are supposed to be untainted fans turn ugly like with their mom. The way the story as hold you can see him happy with k while he adores ruby we dont get that lingering affection that would suggest the only way too tie things up for ruby would include a world where he is dead. Ruby literally acknowledges he doesn't exactly know how deep her feelings are to know if those feelings are returned to the same degree of affection.
There are some stories where i just want to sit back, relax and let author take through a wild wacky ride
super lame. why did this mangaka try to pull a korean ending? korea manhwas suck because they all try to be edgy with stupid endings just to get u mad.
Imma just call this an alternate ending and hope the anime makes a true ending that is very different
i agree the ending is bad but there's no need for the r slur use geez :/
the decision to call ai whos canonically autistic the r slur is really interesting... specially interesting to call her that over actions that fit in with her character lol it was always highlighted that she thought she didnt know how to genuinely love, its been a long while since i last read the manga but i do remember she viewed herself as innately dishonest, it makes sense that she'd think of her continued presence in hikarus life as a disservice to him exactly bc she cared. characters will not always do whats "objectively most logical" and ai's character always had issues with interpersonal relationships, its completely in line for her to have harmed hikaru while thinking she was doing the opposite
This would’ve been a much better ending for Oshi no ko Aqua wakes up in the hospital right next to Ruby and Miyako they start crying and are really happy that Aqua finally woke up kana and others are really happy that Aqua is fine after that, they all go outside to give Aqua some time to rest then, the crow girl appears in Aqua’s hospital room and she tells Aqua she was the one who saved him with her god powers she tells aqua, do not throw away your life. I gave you a second chance in life You are now surrounded by people that care about you you are more loved in this life then you were in your previous one do not throw all of that away, cherish your new life do not throw away your new life after telling this to Aqua, The crow girl disappears forever hours later Aqua and Kana are talking with each other then Aqua asked kana on a Christmas date Kana is of Cours shocked after hearing this but she accepts it then, finally on Christmas Eve, Aqua and Kana go on their Christmas date they both have a good time together by the end of the date Kana confesses her feelings to Aqua she tells aqua she loves him then Aqua suddenly kisses Kana then they both start dating they tell everybody the good news that him and Kana are now dating and aqua tells Ruby that they cannot be together in this life because they are now siblings. He apologizes to Ruby, but Ruby excepts it she excepts that or an aqua cannot be together in this life, because they are now siblings then finally Aqua kana and Akane go see Ruby‘s big performance at the dorm they all cheer on Ruby and mem Cho Aqua is really happy and also cries a little bit that his sister finally achieved her dreams Aqua cheers on Ruby and they all have a very good time The final scene is Aqua Ruby Kana Akane mem Cho Miyako and Ichigo are at Ai grave and aqua finally calls Ai mom all of them give their final goodbyes to AI and Aqua, and Ruby are finally able to move on from their mother‘s death and they all say goodbye to AI 🤩 this would’ve been a much better ending than the one we got
5:00 WOW... Really, I was thinking about how not killing Aqua could make for a better ending and how could you make Aqua's death a better ending. But really, if Ruby were killed by Nino, this would make for an insanely good tragedy ending, the one I would praise
Oshi no ko really drop down badly, im so sad
The point of oshi no ko is how important lies are in the entertainment industry. Ai and Aqua lived lies are died when they became ready to live honestly, while Ruby who wanted to live honestly resolves to live in lies and keeps living
Oshi no Ko became Oshikko by the end...
I'm going to be the devils advocate and disagree. Feel free to point out any flaws in my reasoning. I find that the ending is quite in line with basically every character in this story. I've read in the comments and in other places as well that the manga was about displaying the ugly side of the entertainment business but that it didin't do anything with it. I personally feel like this is actually quite accurate. Considering how dark the anime is, it would have felt out of place if they actually managed to make a lasting impact on the industry and at the same time it didn't seem to be the main aspiration of any of the characters, more a "nice thing to have". It seemed like everyone accepted how cruel and f-ed up the entertainment industry is. Now, regarding the ending and Aquas death, you've explained in your video that suicide was a bad option because it doesn't make sense. I think it absolutely does. Aqua as always thought a few steps ahead and he KNEW that there is a good possibility that Kamiki wouldn't stop, especially since during their conversation Kamiki put up another facade that Aqua was able to see through. He couldn't just kill Kamiki because being found out would ruin Rubys reputation. He didn't want to die, that was explained clearly in the manga, but he did not want to take any chances. Now, here's where Aquas "stupid" side comes in. The character has always been flawed and had a warped understanding of how people see him, it was never his strong suit. We as the reader know that Ruby would rather have Aqua around but Aqua has decided that the risk is too high. A flawed character does not make a flawed story, it gives depth and creates opportunites for conflict and emotion. This flawed side of his personality has been depicted multiple times in the manga. I personally couldn't think of other immediate solutions to his problem considering how narrow minded his goal was. He had to dispose of Kamiki quickly to minimize risk on Ruby and he couldn't have the murder connected to her through him. Kamiki did not kill any of the characters close to Aqua. He was also a minor at the time of Ai's death. He couldn't do anything about him on a legal level. This was also explained in the manga. In the end most of the characters ended up with quite a sad ending. Basically none of them got what they wanted and as much as my heart wanted a good ending... it fits. The industry is fucked up. Everyone is flawed. This is a bad ending, but in my opinion a well made one.
This ending f*cking sucks, but i will say that the message of Ruby suffering and becoming like Ai is that it's just the consequence of Aqua killing himself. Ruby was beginning to look up, live for herself and truly be happy, but in Aqua's suicide meant to "save" her because his life would be a burden, he dooms her to a life of suffering. Safe to say it's just a "suicide is never the option" type of message, which is nice, the problem is that there was literally no reason for Aqua to kill himself in the first place. It doesnt matter if the cake made of shit has some nice glazing and sprinkles on top, the cake itself is still sh*t.
Aqua didnt need to die. bro didnt even get his own happy ending
What if the producers make an Ichika route? I would highly suggest 5:48 as the starting point where Fuutarou agreed to play hookey.
Even tho attack on Titan ending is thousand times better than this shit. It is one of the most stupid and worst ending in any anime like come on Aqua has many ways to prove hikaru as culprit or there are other ways to kill him but that fool kill himself and doing sacrifice for what reason ?? Ruby will also ended like her mother just like history repeats itself 🙄😮💨😤😤. If they want to give rush ending so the ending could be more simple
Stabby stab stab...
Awesome video man, even if you think about the Hikaru death scene, clearly a forensic police can conclude Hikaru was assault and killed by Aqua... this is soo stupid😅 Aka after the Kana scandal arc was full deadbrain...
Tragic ending ❎ Bullshit ending ✅
0:26 This gives off the vibe of a Joker 2 watcher saying "The Joker was me for watching this movie"
We need a harem ending
December 18 a new volume realeses though
Anime made me angry, it was vague. Thank you for clarifying the original intent of the manga. So much was left out in the anime- I mean Yotsoba is BARELY even given screen time. I definitely thought - with the earrings at the end that the bride was Ishka, hair color definitely looks more Miku, then the kiss with itsuki… BAD BAD ANIME ending
I don't understand why a story needs to have a point to be enjoyable and how can an ending ruin the entire story for some people, like if you enjoyed the first half of the story, it still haven't changed, it's still good. Oshi no ko for me was always a melodrama that explores characters, their feelings and how they deal with trauma. It was never some sort of adventure with a destination in mind. I don't typically watch melodramas because it's usually about some boring domestic routine stuff witch is redundant cus it's just life. But Oshi no ko was different for me, it talks about human connection in a way that could be understood by someone who struggles with it. I'm a big fan and for me the writing stayed consistent from beginning to the end. The crow girl clearly didn't reincarnate the twins for some greater porpoise, she simply liked them. Ruby in the ending isn't just eternally depressed for life now, like some people think(?), she's just grieving, it's about how even in our darkest moments there's always a call, a drive that makes as move forward towards the future, where Ruby still want's to bring joy to other people, even when in despair, convincingly lying to the audience by hiding all the pain she's in, since entertainment industry is the industry that sells lies, and those lies can affect someone's life and safe them, the same way Ai's lies saved Sarina. And the memories of her loved ones is what gives her this hope, since they are always with her in her heart. Aqua's plan makes sense if you consider how he never really lived for himself and his reason to live always involved living for the sake of someone else. So when confronted with the decision to kill Kamiki, he thinks it's better to die and hurt everyone he loves but also let them be free from all the turmoil for them to live their lives, rather than survive and still hurt others by going to prison, dragging them down with him for as long as he lives. It is obviously, objectively a stupid idea and a bad plan, but it makes perfect sense from the POV of his character. And I fail to see how him being murdered by Kamiki would make it more tragic, it's the fact that he commits to this decision himself what makes it so bittersweet. I'm too lazy to address every aspect of the ending that people disliked but I liked, I think the readers missed out on a lot of nuance of the story
I respectfully disagree
@@lionheartgoodfellow3770 With anything in particular? I wrote a lot of shit
@@darbul217 That the ending didn't ruin the story, it did for me, and i will not relent on that point, not even if you drop a concrete block on my head
The legacy. Many animes, mangas, shows, cartoons and games will be rememberedd in the future by how they handled the end of their journey. And if there is a thing that hurts people is to feel that their time and investment in a work was all for nothing. And no it doesnt mean that the ending has to be necessarily happy. I mean Shakespeare wrote tragedies and they are still respected to this day. I think the point is that the ending has to make sense and there needs to be the right buildup, cause otherwise if everything was too meaningless, why encouraging to follow the next works from an author who was disilusioned, or threw a temper tantrum, and all of that for an ending that left a bad taste? Not a bitter taste, but a bad one.
Akasaka unleashes a bittersweet ending: Everyone:🌋💀🌋💀🌋💀
At this point I just hope that the anime pulls out a new original ending that is better than the manga 😭 (Aka a reverse Soul Eater-)
Ok heres some endings i have in mind : -the movie exposed kamiki and he got a life sentence and ruby is still safe -aqua confronted kamiki and having an argument about how kamiki now failed and finally realised ai really did love him, he then "off" himself in front of aqua, and idk maybe some panels of ai comforting kamiki in after life??? -kamiki wont stop and too far gone, aqua then did what he do in the manga and somehow saved by akane/kana who followed him, kamiki died, and his past crimes finally got exposed Aqua walked free but this s*icidal plan almost ruined his relationship with kana, ruby and others, so he rebuild his relationship with everyone again aka happy ending dum dum -kamiki comes to his senses, not getting arrested but promised he wont touch ruby after everything got revealed in Ai's video, he then disappear somehow and never to be seen again (most unlikely ending) -kamiki confronted aqua who finally decided to want to live and be happy with ruby and everyone, in this confrontation kamiki mortally injured aqua but in the last moment he also k*ll kamiki like in the manga, in his final moment aqua apologizing to everyone that he cant see them grow, become more famous, become happier, or even apologise to kana that he wont be with her and grow old together, the lights go out then suddenly in after life ai showed up in front of him apologizing or other shid idk about how because of her he had to suffer and protect ruby like we finally get to see ai broke the character idk im not a good writer -ruby di*d by kamiki directly or indirectly like ai, aqua goes berserk and k*ll kamiki and himself in the process, if you wanna make a bad ending just go full ham on it then There are so many endings online written by fans that are better than aka's sh*tty vision ong
This made also realized something, Although it was a sad and happy ending, it also means that she has no enemies left, unless she has a crazy fan just like Ai
In the end its like hinting that ruby will be like AI, masking anything with lie and deceive, she prob will be ended up like Ai, thats how ass the ending for ruby and others
@quanlinglingdingle6122 yeah, she could've just drop out and be a normal person
"Happy "? Are you fucking kidding me?
I think this series should not have started with a reincarnation
i was completely on board with everything you're saying until you dissed best girl kana (and also said an ableist slur for no reason)
It wasnt a surprise the moment u dont think its a harem manga. Yotsuba broken promise is one of the problems but the core problems is actually the fact that she wants to be someone special person which was her goal
I think the incest route might have save this series ngl
i would not mind if it ended but after this ending now i mind
The description is spelled wrong
Kana is supposed to be a very well written character. Her obsession with Aqua just ruined it so bad. She had so potential for development but Aka ended up just making her obsess over Aqua.
Ts was ass after all
Am I the only one who think Aqua is a complete weirdo the man wasted his second life to revenge ,and than off himself for a girl that is pretty much just his idol. Aqua is just a overly obsessed fanboy. At least I got some material to piss off the oshi no ko fans for overhyping mediocre anime
I would have prefered if ruby said "For Aqua's legacy, I will become the Ko. Oshi no Ko!" And she becomes My Idol or smth
I just can't hate the ending
So as someone who has never read or watched anything related to this manga and has no interest in doing so... After Ruby is forcefully finished being an idol, cant she just move to something else entirely in the industry? Like wasnt she and Aqua in some movies or something earlier on? Its true the whole idol thing is gonna feel like a complete waste once she outgrows it, but she still has potential to continue on being an actress and whatnot no? Again never read the manga so idk if this is a possible outcome or she just eternally screwed.
Yes, she can. The manga only covers the immediate aftermath after Aqua's death. Idk why people think she's a braindead zombie now who only want's to be an Idol. I'm biased coz I liked the ending btw
LOL this makes more sense tbh. Like i dont particularly care since i didnt get into the fandom, but i was finding it odd that folks were making it sound like she was completely screwed once shes done idoling. I get shes being Ai 2.0 with the whole lying thing, but doesnt mean she cant be more in the future. Plus im sure she can someday find someone to truly love and be with. Ruby knows how to love properly, so its not exactly the same issue that Ai had.
It was doomed to a bad ending from the beginning. Oshi no Ko is part of a wider isekai-verse (4096). The moment they lost Ai is the moment they lost in this particular timeline, or Ai was already too far gone, but the important part is information gathering and teaching for the characters to pass on to the next worlds. Check the thing with focusing on left/right eyes. I think it's a yes/no system or a show of truth/lie and the other isekai series use it too. None have explained for sure what it means though so it's just guessing for now.
its not just 1 day. its actually more than 1 day.
well Bride = Bell kisser. and also u are wrong again u chose to ignore the bell kisser expression and its the fact that she looks so in pain and so sad is what tells me that it is Yotsuba and no one else. Yotsuba is the only one where she punishes herself when it comes to fuutaro. so it works perfectly. Yotsuba is a character full of contradictions thats why shes the bell kisser. normally if it was the other 4 they would be smiling not look like a complete emotional train wreck that is full of guilt
Tbh u are wrong since the bride is the bell kisser within the same chapter. u are wrong Yotsuba makes the most sense when it comes to being the bell kisser since shes full of contradictions. One thing u miss out. None of the girls who kiss Fuutaro will have an expression that is full of sadness and Guilt outside of Yotsuba. This is where it becomes very obvious Yotsuba is the bell kisser
Honestly it would have been a good ending with a couple revision. I agree it would have been better if aqua die when confronting his father instead of stabbing himself. Or if he have an internal monologue abt why he chooses that path. As for ruby. I think she understood her mither and want to be like her. No matter how sad and broken she is she keep moving on and fulfilling her dream. Even if it for her dead love one. She keep moving even if she sad and broken.
Really well said! I'm just hoping that the bonus chapter does something to help improve the ending. Apparently the brackets used around the Oshi No Ko title on the books have an important meaning that hasn't been revealed yet (as mentioned in an interview) and I've heard that those brackets are generally used to reference a piece of media within a piece of media in Japanese (possibly meaning that Oshi No Ko is the name of something within this series). Either way, the writing was going downhill for awhile and I'm probably not going to buy any more Aka books after Oshi No Ko. Though It would be pretty wild if Aka intentionally put out an ending to make people mad, then put out a bonus chapter over a month later that changes the meaning of everything, but that's probably my copium that something redeemable will happen. My guess for the bonus chapter is that either Aqua recorded CDs for the characters to watch, "Oshi No Ko" is the name of a film the remaining characters will make, or something wild like the whole ending of the series actually being part of a movie and not what actually took place. The first color panel in Vol 1 shows Ruby and Aqua walking into a live broadcast that wasn't shown during the series, which some people are speculating that it may be a hint about what the final chapter may be since volume one has a lot of references to future events.
I'm back from the future. The bonus chapter was also trash and the "secret meaning" of the weird brackets in the title was that Mem's RUclips channel name was【OSHI NO KO】. Jokes on me for having expectations of clever writing or some sort of weird stunt in the last chapter.
Yeah my issue is with the execution and writing, as well. It was like Akasaka hated the series & thats when the writing started to drop off around chapter 130 and then after 143 it turned into a complete mess. There was no use for the crow girl she was there for no reason. Crow girl could have been replaced by Ai talking to Aqua while he died. If he wanted to make the crow girl useful, he could have had her go talk to Ruby so that she might have had some closure, if he wanted to make her even a bit useful. The way they showed Aqua's suffering and regretting was also useless. Did NOTHING, at all, narrativly. He said in an interview that he wanted to be a writer rather than a mangaka and his writing ability is non just crap if he sees nothing wrong with this execution. I don't know what editors he was working with, were on to ok this cr@p. I don't care that it had a sad ending, some stories NEED sad endings.... but show some fr!gg€n hope SOMEWHERE man! People defending it seem to think we're all upset because its a sad ending. Not everyone is upset with that. His writing turned to s#!t after chapter 120, further worstened by 132 then completely dropped off a cliff after he got the incest teasing out of his system by chapter 143/144. The execution of the second half of this was god aweful.
I feel like his death kinda goes against the point of the manga. It claims to show the “dark side” of the industry, but never does anything with it. Nothing ever changes. Aqua feeling like he has to die too is so stupid, because like, no one should lose their career because of their family members. It’s like that saying like “if there is slavery in the story, and it isn’t abolished by the end of the story, then it isn’t a happy ending”. Nothing has changed, and Ruby is just engrossed further into lies. Which I’ve always took the star eyes, black or white, to be a bad thing. Because at some point you have to be honest with people around you. This isn’t victim blaming but I feel like Ai’s story would have played out differently if she was more honest, at least to the people she cares about. It just feels like nothing changed, so many people suffered and it was all kinda pointless. Aqua did some dumb shit and died, and the narrative doesn’t treat it with the condemnation it deserves. The narrative seemed to discourage Aqua’s self sacrifice and giving up on his life. And then he just does it, but no guys it’s ok it’s out of love not revenge. I feel like the narrative would be more powerful if he decided to not throw his life away even if he was a murderer. Because even if it hurts Ruby’s career, they both would rather have him alive. And then deal with the outfall of that. Ruby’s career suffers but she continues on because she loves what she does. She might not become as popular as Ai, but she’d still grow a meaningful fan base.People who care about her as an artist/person. And maybe that’d open up hope of change in the industry. Idols are human, and they are allowed to live like one. They are allowed to be messy. It would be unrealistic for the industry or culture to completely shift, but I think establishing some hope or progress would be more satisfying. Also the treatment of Kana is just nasty. Built them up the entire manga and never gets a resolution. I’m so sorry Kana, you deserved so much better.
Yeah, like the scandal revolving around her forcing Aqua to use his connection to Ai to bury it. I would've preferred it if the story gave Kana to surpass this scandal by herself, or Aqua and co. helping her out without jeopardizing his hidden family relationship.
whether it's rushed or not, you have to understand that this ending actually correlates with what the main message of the whole manga is. From the beginning we could tell that the theme is about the idol industry, how it might seem cutesy on the outside but on the inside it's disgusting. in the ending, it wasn't "oh, aqua died, next". No, it's "Oh, aqua died, i have to keep up my act so that the fans will continue to like me". yes, the ending might be rushed, but it still correlates to the theme at the end of the day. the bad ending was necessary.
It was uninteresting to see nothing change but I do appreciate the realistic approach and story staying faithful to the theme. 👍 In the end, one must sometimes lie to be appreciated, especially by the large public who overreacts to every little thing a celebrity says or does. Ruby tried to be authentic and different from her mother, but after losing Aqua again she ended up realizing that she must accept the reality she lives in. It wasn’t a bad ending if Ruby ended this way… I just feel the execution was too rushed is all, like what made Ruby suddenly give up on her dream to be an innocent authentic idol? What made her move on from Aqua? Why did she still want to be an idol after performing at the dome and losing Aqua?
