I just read the oneshots in video and I find it interesting how those mistakes trap the characters in the situation just like you said. It feels heavy and uncertain on how'll it end, but that last one shot stood out to me as the only one that was able to acknowledge their mistakes. Maybe I'm just a sucker for hopeful endings. Mengo's artstyle is also a joy to look at

Whats wrong with scums wish though? I thought the ending is perfect. Why would main female and male end up together? Their relationship was build upon liking other person. Sure they do end up start liking each other, especially after it was revealed that the male teacher doesnt care / already know about the female teacher past. So both main female and male character attempt to cancel their marriage was futile.
Even if main female and male character do end up like each other, its not going to be a healthy one considering what they were in relationship for in the first place. Too many old wounds, and each realize that its best to let go of each other.
I thought it sends pretty clear message, that the relationship is not healthy, and both main female and male is just scummy in prying their nose to other people business solely for their own benefit. They learned, and they moved on.
I might remember the plot wrong though, so cmiiw.

Neo dutch is so messed up. Let's be real, guy made a1 bad move but for that 1 mistake, he got his entire life ruined while the girl who ruined his life lives a normal life consequence free. It's this dysfunctional dynamic that turn men sour towards woman because in real life, woman could in fact ruin a mans life with no consequences like this.
It makes the message of "people hurt each other, that's life" kind of disingenuous when it sounds more like a gaslight from the woman to justify being a PoS. Though, that's my takeaway from the story.
Yeah it wasn't even an insult. A mistake, yes. Her feeling bad is understandable, but the level she took it to is just ridiculous. They already got along well enough for her to know he didn't mean it as an insult, and that he didn't even dislike what he saw. He just fumbled the wording, everyone fumbles words. He even realized his mistake and apologized in a few seconds, but she had somehow already murdered him in her head like 20 times in those few seconds.
It's a good thing he didn't eat her yogurt by mistake cuz with her mentality she might have reacted by pushing him down a staircase and cutting off all his fingers or something

Despite the hype around ONK, I always avoided it cause something felt off with it (and it's outside my usual wheelhouse, but that was secondary in this instance). Every time I read a synopsis or an excerpt or saw art, I always got the feeling that something degenerate was lurking in the background of the creation process. This basically confirmed that. The author may be good at making points or conveying a massage in certain areas, but I really dislike fetishes getting turned into plot points, and that's how a lot of this author's work looks to me
EDIT: Amending my statement after seeing that Mengo is not the writer for ONK. I'm not sure how much influence Mengo has on the story, but I'd assume that it's minimal. Some of Mengo's art still sets sirens off in my head, but I'll chalk the weird plot points up to the writer instead. Given what I've heard about Kaguya-sama, I'm surprised the writers are the same.

The first story of the girl is really stupid and only will happen in manga, if that was in real life she would end up just sleeping with different men trying in her mind to hurt the guy but the guy in real life would have just move on to another girl. Only in fiction the guy would suffer because in reality a guy like him would have family to support him to move on. In fact the opposite would happen, the girl would had sleep with the guy friends thinking she hurt the guy but the guy move on and is happy with another girl while she from a distance see him and realized what she did meant nothing.

In this case the author wants to show how bad life choices and insecurities can ruin someone’s life, I would say she demonstrated that pretty well. Ok so, basically I had the privilege of reading the comments and noticing a lot of the comments were not really understanding of the women’s actions as well as it very much appreciated that a lot of comments vulnerably admitting they were men so I feel like as a woman I should share what I believe is my interpretation of events that happened in the manga and hopefully shed some light and discourse.
So, to cut to the chase, the reason why the woman went so far even though it was “just one bad slip up” of a comment involves having to look at the women through history.
Throughout time, women have primarily put on pedalstool for how they look. That women are supposed to be pretty, and then have sex with. That is the very much simplified answer.
So looking back further, interestingly enough, a woman was valued based on her “sexual purity” because there was profit made on selling away a virgin wife. And now in recent times since the roles switched where a women could sell her sexual identity without the control of other people, the woman might feel“empowered” but it does nothing but create more degenerates and horrific beauty standards. Either way there a monetization made off of women’s bodies no matter how much you reverse the roles as the end of the day, the man still wins.
Now imagine this, because this is the world we live in today- the rise of porn and plastic surgery and photoshop. More than ever before it has become quite accessible to see a women’s body because of one quick internet search bar. The issue is, when you go on these websites, the women are typically depicted with a certain “look” of a vagina, no hair, and typically has some work done. And for a lot of people, the only form of sexual education is unfortunately through this type of thing.
So now, the reason I mention this is because throughout history and time it has become really ingrained in women ( practically brainwashed ) and thinking that their looks are the only thing that matters and this is still more then ever prevelant today. Looks are what should matter- as its the only way a women is capable of feeling/receiving love and respect. It doesn’t help either that there has been studies done where if a man sees a ugly women they are more or less treat them differently- in comparison to a beautiful women.

(Also, I don’t know if also applicable but when I said the word Vagina, I unconsciously felt really like uncomfortable using it- why should I? It’s an organ. But I realized it’s been so sexualized to a point it doesn’t have the same effect as if you were to say penis or dick.)
Honestly. It would’ve made me crash out as well. However, the approach the female protagonist took was “far fetched” in a lot of people’s eyes, but when you take into consideration everything I mentioned, this was her way of validating herself in a fucked up porn sicken society that she was deserving of love due to her ability to have sex with multiple men showing that she is “worthy” of love since history time and time again only validates a women based on her sex and her looks. So when our male protagonist didn’t- she did it the only way she *knew* how to.
It does not mean it was necessarily right approach to get “her lick back” since it just perpetuates more into thinking that it’s okay to be so sexually liberated as women despite it does not benefit women and the men will always win at the end of it. But who can blame our female protagonist when since all her life she has been shown just exactly that?

Btw, y'all should totally go read or watch Scum's Wish (Kuzu no Honkai), it's also by Mengo, the artist of Oshi no Ko, and it's probably one of the best anime/manga series ever made in the romance genre. It's really good and subverts a lot of existing tropes in said genre
