Worst ending in fiction is such a low blow for no damn reason. This is why I can't take these arguments seriously. There's no way in hell it's the worst anime in fiction and the fact people think that way is LITERALLY an abomination to anime. We simply don't deserve it.

I think what you're missing is that everything in Erens life came second to him being free, it just how he was born. He says it himself and Mikasa says it on the boat, he never changed. Not his mother's death or his environment made him in to who he was. When he got the founders power and was able to see the past and the future he realized that he will always choose flattening the world no matter what, it was decided not because he was bound by fate, but because the fate was bound to him. It's not determinism, he has agency and choice but the irony is that what traps him is his nature to choose freedom. He cared about his friends and the island and wanted to save them but it was again second priority, although he wished it be otherwise he knew he was a monster that couldn't stop himself. For him to kill the enemies on the outside and see the world as free as he imagined as a child, he killed his mother, pressured his father, lied to everyone all because that was the only way for him to get the power he needed to see the freedom he wanted to see. I think why I love the ending and so many people hate it is that in the end viewers care about the characters, what happens to Eren and friends, but the ending makes you realize how it's just a single story in a world. There is no happy forever after, there was always going to be genoside on ether side, conflict will happen no matter what and and Idiots like Erens will get power and burn the world down not because they have this huge siffisticated reason but because at the bottom of their heart they have their own selfish reason that drives them, like love (ymer) or wanting to be a hero (Reiner). Ziek had the right idea there is no real reason to live in this crazy world, its all meaningless, besides the little short moments of happiness and simple joy like a cool TV show with acrobatic teenagers cutting naked giants with swords and dying for our entertainment.

I really liked the ending. There are tons of ways it could have been done differently. I enjoyed it having a bitter sweet tinge to it. I thought the motivations of the characters were largely understandable. My favorite part of the whole series is when Eren attacks Marley just due to how crazy and intense that all was. I think Eren had a really screwed up child hood and essentially became a child soldier. They aren't known for their developed minds or good thinking. Eren was an angsty violent little kid in a base sense. Then you add on top that his mind is stuffed with lifetimes of other folks memories. I didn't find it unbelievable that he might just be angry and want to burn it all down. I think he was angry and confused and got to tear up his room while simultaneously making his friends and love into heros potentially. I dunno I just liked it and didn't have any real hang ups with the ending. Eren and Micasa being in love tragically came more out of left field than the rumbling. I view not liking or liking something as a personal opinion. Trying to argue whether art is objectively good or bad and insisting people agree with you is obnoxious, infantile, and just bad. A guy made a piece of art, he designed it carefully and showed it to us all. You don't get to argue if it's good or bad objectively in my opinion, that just makes me think poorly of the person preaching that. Whether you like it or don't is totally up for discussion and debate. I personally liked it. It sounds like you're fighting the author, the work of art, and the clear themes within for the sake of your personal feelings about Eren. I watched your whole video and still don't fully understand what your argument is. You clearly didn't like the ending and you have reasons for why. Are you trying to say your opinion of this piece of art is the definitive truth and is the only way others should be able to perceive it in your eyes?

Yes Marley is hypocritical and should've been humbled (and partially rumbled) but at the end of the day, even with Titans gone, Paradis was still assaulted by most of the remaining nations later on The titans scarred humanity and its history. The main issue I have with the narrative is this; Even if Marley is a crooked Nation, after Willy's speech, it should've been known that the whole situation was botched from the start. Hell, the only reason he even declared war was because he knew it was too late. 100 years of Tyburs, Marleyan rule, and Paradisian stagnation/lack of knowledge. All that wasn't gonna get fixed in one night with a peaceful resolution. As Erwin said, it would take a great common enemy to unite Humanity. Thank you man, what a breath of fresh air. its rare finding real people like you, cant believe these pretentious ah people think the ending is good. it had some interesting, profound concepts here and there, but overall, put together - i cant even fathom how much of a mess it was. these japanese manga creators man, they come up with the craziest, unseen stories with godly concepts, but either they drop the manga completely or they give it a shitty ending, its just too much for them to handle man, cant blame them.
