Ooo great list! I’ve read both on writing, and the Dave grohl memoir - both are fantastic! If you don’t mind the body horror then Dreamcatcher is a great book so far (especially when paired with some forest ambience videos on RUclips haha!)

Ha ha! No worries - fantasy names are supposed to be butchered. 😁 I don’t know if you speak a Sanskrit-derived language, but if you do, once you see Andumaic in book two of the trilogy, you might be able to make some sense of it. Cheers!

@Shelf-Esteem I think we'll have a blast with The Bloodsworn Saga, I'm trying to keep my expectations down but I think it's going to be a book I love. I think you'll enjoy The Haar, it's one of my favourite horror novels. It has such an amazing atmosphere and some brilliant characters. I haven't read The Terror yet, I recently picked it up on a kindle daily deal as I do like Dan Simmon's books.

I know that sentiment well my friend! I feel exactly the same - Three Body Problem jumbled plot points for instance, but it was in service of the medium. Changing character to fit a different narrative, changing plot points to “put your own spin on it” (I’ve spoken to execs who say this), etc is not a good end result most of the time!

I think it’s been delayed due to the writer’s strikes and subsequent slow year with layoffs at studios etc - which might explain the two year absence of news. Hopefully things will pick up in coming months!!

Ahh haha brilliant!! 😊 I’ve been missing catching up on videos as the cruise’s WiFi is so spotty - hoping I can do some tomorrow when I go to port! I just love how Tolkien used something as harrowing as his WW1 experiences to craft a tale of devotion, redemption and loyalty. It hits me in the feels every time!!
