An excellent list Nikhil! Obviously love your top 2. Thanks for all the Fantasy and Sci-Fi recommendations. Did you know that the first book Stephen King wrote was The Long Walk, as a student. It was published after Carrie under the pseudonym Richard Bachman and is one of his most terrifying novels.

Thanks so much Cliff! 😊 I absolutely LOVED The Long Walk! It’s insane that he wrote it at such a young age. The depth of understanding of characters, and how to make them compelling throughout a very simple plot shows his masterful command of storytelling!

    Robert Jordannnnnn the best!
New to King and loving his works. Taking a breath from WoT to enjoy some spooky books from king this fall. Starting with Night Shift.

Hell yeah!! Thanks for sharing Raj! Some really fantastic choices - so glad to see we overlap on so many! 😀 Love Fonda Lee, but have only read Jade City so far. I need to check out Lee Child and Sydney Sheldon! Where’s a good place to start with them?

Hey Nikhil, sure. First of all, it was a typo. The author is Sidney Sheldon (I not Y). Sorry about that. And Lee child is the author of Jack Reacher books (A brutal ex military). For both I would suggest following books as a starting ones
Lee child - Killing floor (book 1) : note - even though there are 29 books in this series by far - you may pick any at any given point of time with no order to be followed
Sidney Sheldon - Tell me your dreams or Master of the game

Hey, got here from Josh's video on best fantasy book of the 21st century. We have a lot of the same authors on our list! I love every author you mentioned (okay maybe I just "like" Robert Jordan 🤣). Stephen King is one of my top three, I finished his bibliography in December and just got a tattoo from The Stand. Glad I found your channel!

Hi Kyle! Great to meet you here! 😊 Wow that’s amazing you’ve read all of King’s books! I’m both excited for and dreading that day, as I never want to run out of his work haha. So cool you have a tattoo from the stand! Just subbed to your channel, and looking forward to watching your videos - thanks for the kind message my friend! 😊

Someone I’m looking forward to reading more is Adam Nevill. I’ve only read The Reddening and am reading it short horror story collection next (Wyrd). But it definitely made me interested in reading more. He’s mostly specifically horror and he works very well with it.

Oh totally! I can’t wait to read more from him (hoping to tackle Last Days or The Ritual this October!) have you read Nick Cutter? He’s a great atmospheric horror writer as well!

Great video Nikhil! I was shocked to see Stephen King as your number one. 🤪😂 So many good ones here. Black Crouch and GRRM are definitely great authors. I really want to read Suneater.

Thanks so much Chas! 😊 I figured I’d throw in a curve ball with that Stephen King choice 😂 Man it never ceases to amaze me just how alike our reading tastes are! I think you’ll really like Suneater. The first book is great, but the second onwards is where the series goes into truly wild and unique territory!
