we are on top of the food chain WE HAVE TO EAT MEAT im not saying u shouldnt stop being vegan you can be vegan though humans are omnivores and need both meat and plants to survive u can subtitute that with suppliments if you take them correctly the issue comes to Children, they need meat NOT EVEN SUPLIMENTS will work, children need meat to develop healthy so if someone is vegan and has kids he Has to give meat to his kids untill they grow up then you could stop giving it to them as you could use supliments we are on top of the food chain WE HUMANS are the most superior race on earth we are on top of the food chain and if all humans stop eating meat or hunting animals in general the planets ecosystem will collapse so you can be vegan all u want but u shouldnt enforce that on other people as the more people become vegan the more risks of ecosystem collapsing but u shouldnt also bully people who were vegan but stopped to health risks, yes even if you take supliments u can have health risks not every supliment can substitute everything your body needs some people maybe need things u can supliment u cant blame them for stopping being vegan you cant bully vegans who few times in a month eat some meat, EAT MEAT!?? yes, though some people are vegan they still eat meat few times in a month to supply theit bodies with things u cant supliment and that is NEVER A BAD THING as hebrivores themselves sometimes eat meat when they have the chance to so dont feel bad about it as corporations still kill animals anyways and sell it so eating some few times in a month isnt bad either

Agreed - its' beyond tiring hearing all of the justifications for abhorrent behavior including "it's so difficult going vegan".....and of course the outright hypocrisy i.e. "It's wrong to take the life of anyone - human and otherwise...but I need to eat meat...." Great work giving them the facts.

That was good work cip . The bullfighting question was a good point . Apart from that in Spain they also have Bull runs where they run through the streets being chased by people and vice versa . Also the same thing but with material wrapped around the tips of their horns and set alight....it's disgusting. I had the misfortune of seeing this once ( not of my choice) and it's horrendous . The bulls are kept confined for a day in a small space so that they become annoyed and fierce when let out......it's so so sad .

Solid work cip, the way you pointed out the contradiction between saying oppressors have no right to oppress with acknowledging one has an obligation not to oppress was fantastic. I think you handled her equivocation between self-harmful habits and habits which oppress others was great. You may have missed an opportunity to highlight her subsequent equivocations between not lethally oppressing the powerless (which she dishonestly reduced to “eating habits”) vs. “the way I talk to people.” This is equivocating between a minor harm, snapping aggressively at someone when one is in a bad mood, and acts of murdering the innocent. You responded that you are just focusing on animal oppression, which allowed her to pigeon-hole the conversation (and the cause you are pushing) as myopic and irrationally biased to one arbitrary special interest. Carnists love to do this to vegans and to veganism in general. The carnist tells themselves that unlike the vegan they a themselves are more worldly and rational, and see “the big picture.” They appeal to the nihilist idea that “there is no ethical consumption under capitalism” and “doing their best,” which is a version of the “plant lives matter too” equivocation. I think it is important to ask them the following question when they do this: “Are there any other actions you do on a daily basis that knowingly entail taking helpless, powerless beings endowed with the capacity to feel love and joy, and using them to the point of their deaths just for a moment of your sensory enjoyment?” Her efforts to connect an action as grave as this with being occasionally rude or glib when chatting with friends is frankly outrageous.
