I think people need to push back more on the idea we have always eaten animals. Factory farming wasn't a thing until 1930's. I lthink veganism is better defined as a principled stand against the commodification of animals (rather than as a principle in and of itself).
Principles are somewhat passive and abstract, while principled stands emphasize the application of moral principles (which are often shared by the carnist already) to actual behavior.
If you want to add more descriptors you could also call it principled, consistent stand against the objectification and commodification of animals. You can play around with it, but I agree with you that “commodification” is an important part of the definition vegan activists often unfortunately leave out.

@@veganpowerlab I'm not insulting you at all. You are the one who is accusing meat eaters of being animal abusers which is quite insulting.
I am not aware of any people that need to eat human meat so I'm not really sure that is a valid example. If there was a person who needed to eat human meat for whatever reason I would say it is probably better for society that that person die than to continue to kill other humans for meat.
With regard to animals however, once you establish that some people need to eat meat then you establish that animals need to be killed for those people to live. Going vegan won't prevent the deaths of any animals, not one. The animals will still be slaughtered and made into meat and if I go vegan it simply means their corpses will rot without being eaten.
Furthermore, you can't dictate that some people are allowed to eat meat and others cannot. That is not the way that society works. Stating that some people can have meat and others can't is clearly discrimination.

There are two things to consider here. Sentience in plants. Whether one is OK with the idea of eating something sentient. Veganism is a moral vacuum.

      Plants are not sentient

@@user-vl2qz7cn5v Whether plants are sentient or not is a question of scale? And when you say you don't share this perspective you mean that you believe plants are sentient?

And. Life is a wilful act. If you can't consume a sentient being, well..Jain saints employ haridjans to sweep their path, less they stamp upon an ant. Contemporary veganism doesn't even use the blush veil of the occult.

Yes. Amongst other things, a botanist, and I have no trouble with the notion of sentience in fungi, virae, and so plants. Perceptual scale is a problem for anything reading sentience in another. Veganism is a cuddly toy issue.

It's funny you call them "hypocrites" when you use animal products from the same animals they eat while claiming to be against it.
Maybe you should check the definition of "hypocrisy."
Many things are made with animal products.
Asphalt, some types of money, electronics with processors, motor vehicles, some housing materials, etc...
Weird how you record, edit, and upload videos without using any processors... "hypocrisy"
Why do you use animal products needlessly for entertainment while only pretending to be against it?
I will bet my account deletion that you won't answer this fact based question directly and factually.

Let me ask you this. If we did this process to a human female, would it be classified as r@pe? Her being held while someone puts their hand up their anus to hold their cervix and then injects semen in their vagina?
