Man I'm happy around rank 420 something. Level 105ish and never touched a red crystal (pay even though I would if I was rich) and had some luck like last day pull of Aerith's Bahamut cloak with remaining blue crystals. I never been in a top 500-600 before.

I had problems with EX Boss (Masamune Swordsmith), but getting the Score Bonus you suggested might just be the thing I needed (-1ATB). Also thanks for showing the additional options at the start! I didn't know they added some of them, and it will be a nice QoL (Quality of Life) improvement for me!

Hey! Enjoyed the video as always. Two things come to mind regarding why this wasn’t as fun for you as usual, and they actually interact. 1. They removed penalties in exchange for score boost. My guess is that this was in response to people not liking it during Battle Ranking, but I felt like it was different for Dungeon Ranking, because you could strategize around when took the penalties and which ones you took (e.g., kill harder bosses and THEN take the penalties for score boost). Now, it’s just “how will you buff yourself,” which I actually thought I would like more, but it didn’t feel more or less fun for me tbh. 2. Your water Tifa is bonkers strong (which you know). Back when they were doing penalties for score boost, this would have been a prime opportunity for you to do a full score boost run and still feel challenged. But, without that, it’s what you described - just blow it up and walk away. In contrast, I’m running the same three characters for mine, but my Tifa has OB3 Bunny Gloves, OB3 Feather Gloves, and the Bahamut costume instead of the arcanum. Wayyyyyyyyy different run 🤣 I know we’ve talked about the probability of me pulling for water Sephiroth, but this dungeon ranking isn’t gonna trick me into pulling before I see the last two costumes. So, this will be my setup. Almost nothing dies before the attacks get off lol Anyway, I’m glad they brought dungeon ranking back and are trying new things. I hope they keep the difficulty format (same dungeon, just harder enemies, which is probably way easier on the devs), but I hope they bring back penalties with score boosts.

Considering breaking my ‘don’t use wp’s on non limited weapons’ rule to get Tifa feathered gloves ob6 to score better.. gonna wait til tomorrow after 1.5x free pull and wp’s quest to see if I dipped any lower than rank 13.. really wanna get top 20 on my first dungeon ranking. It’s not a badddd weapon to upgrade at all, and it’s in fact my only tifa dps weapon not ob6+. My thoght is to give her Levi instead of Seph to boost water damage high to take out 🐸 fight quicker it’s the only one I’m not nearing score optimization for. Would be less than 50 wp’s I have 148 now will get some from daily quest tomorrow. It’s just that I would hate to toss two weapon vouchers on it with over 150 wp’s tomorrow

My game keeps on crashing during the Leviathan summon, so I’ve had two runs where my Leviathan summon just never came out because of it.

Think you missed the improvements you can save before eash boss to max your score on it , im rank 5th at the moment and there is a bit of fun in min maxing the speed and testing with no heals or vangel veil to take no damage.

for the triple boss, try to debuff all 3 with Cait b4 you pop the summon

I’m definitely also on the “Seph is really useful for me” bandwagon so it’s tempting. What makes it more complicated is that the current event requires water so not pulling now might make it so that at least for this event, you don’t really get to take advantage of the weapon+element. The element is bound to rotate back to water eventually but the usefulness in the meantime is diminished, sneaky gacha strats to make people pull from the devs. Either way, I think I’m going to wait, it’s worth it to see what Cloud and Tifa can do and then make a decision from there.

If this were a non-limited banner I would be heavily considering this banner. If I was able to wishlist this weapon in the future I’d be happy to pull page 1 for the gear, and get to OB6 in the future. Definitely waiting to see what Cloud and Tifa get before doing any pulls on this banner.

I missed water Tifa and got this new water Seph to OB10 and it is destroying dungeon ranking alongside Genji Ultimate and Tempest debuff. I’m happy with it because it’s Sephiroth.

Hello ! Always nice to hear your deep analysis. On a negative point on this banner, you could argue that water element is here from a long moment and could possibly fall from the meta for another element. We had invocation guild ranking, battle ranking and now dungeon ranking weak to water. Time for a change in the meta.

Same thoughts on the outfit this is great for dual setup with tempest and OF COURSE it's prime for the current Dungeon Ranking. Take Barret or Red for water debuff along with Tifa anniversary/bunny gloves and you are slapping. That said this card is pretty average for a limited wep, still have a surprise to come I think. This drop is absolutley aimed to drain.

As someone with both Tifa Water gloves at ob10...this is a big skip for me. The costume does make me consider... Depending on my crystals at the end of the collab

Tifa is still the better setup. Definitely going to be a pass.

I pulled on Aerith's banner just to get her weapon. No regrets. I wanted to pull for Sephiroth's costume because I only have his Kuja outfit. But .. honestly, I don't know. I do like the ability that the costume can be for both Phys. or Mag. water set up. Whereas, Tifa is locked into Mag. water. But, I think I'll wait and see what Cloud will be.

considering that tempest is non limited I think this is still worth pulling for just the costume if you don't have his other water arcanum

Not interested in the weapon since I already have Tifa's water setup, which is probably better anyway due to her being able to boost her water potency. Might pull a card for the outfit to use with Tempest since I didn't pull on its launch banner.

Man they love doubling up on Sephiroth don’t they? Seph now officially has 2 elements he received 2 costumes in, lol. For Wind he has his Halloween Costume and his Shinra Formal Attire and for Water he has Natant Jacket which was Water Arcanum (This came along with his Tempest weapon) and now Edgar’s Attire… Now the big difference here is that Edgar’s gear is better than Natant Jacket b/c latter comes with Buff/Debuff extension +10 on the top half while the former has a unique defensive buff on the top half instead. That said most people that I know skipped his Natant Jacket, so it almost feels like you’re rewarded for doing so since this new fit is overall better, lol. But yeah I agree with pretty much your thoughts on it. I know some people are disappointed that the weapon isn’t OP but that doesn’t mean this banner isn’t worth it, especially if you’re a Seph main. I mean if you have Natant Jacket (his first Water costume) then I’d say you’re probably better off skipping I guess but if you didn’t this is a really good pickup as he’ll have both Physical and Magic damage coverage. I also agree with maybe potentially going for Tifa as an option too since they’ll most likely be doing similar damage (assuming Tifa is actually setup) I myself don’t have any Magical Water setup, so this would be a very good pick up for me. That said I’m already *Locke’d* (get it? HEH) in for Cloud this event, no matter what, so I’m skipping this banner personally. Hopefully it’ll be worth it 🙏

As someone who wants to start to work on elemental setups for my account, I wanted to summon on this banner (plus I don't have a Sephi costume yet) but I do like your idea about Tifa's water setup with the 1 year anni. I don't have feather gloves yet so have to hopefully get them at some point but the biggest thing for me is I want to see the other two banners first before making a decision with my 56k crystals currently.

I got the costume (and have an ob1 weapon) because I don’t have a water arcanum (and because he’s husbando) but I think I am done with this banner. The pony tail is cute! But it’s kinda stupid that this is a limited weapon

Seph's Natant Jacket is also a water mastery, so he has two... came on the banner with his Tempest weapon

Just started playing during Anni, so this weapon was great for me as I don’t have Red built up and Aerith healing is pretty much required for more difficult content as my DPS is not great. OB6 baha gs, rod, gloves carrying me

Yeah red is our boy 🎉 I still pulled 😂. But I always do. I like this costume better than kamura costume and will probably use it in place of kamura costume 9/10 times - this costume works better with kamura weapon imo because it doesn’t have hp on it - instead it has def - so you can keep her effective hp lower for the kamura mdef procs.

I've been skipping banners for a while now, mainly grabbing a single copy of the anniversary weapons to just use weapon parts on over time. Currently sitting in the backrooms with all the dust and cobwebs.... and my best friend Glenn. 😢

Skipping this because usually in these crossovers there is one game breaking weapon everyone overlooks and regrets not getting later. This seems more like it was made for this event. Though this would make it easier to have two dps without needing to have imperils on another character and sacrifice something else in the process, I’m holding for now. Given how we’ve been having a banner a week, all four are likely to be on at once so no rush anyway. Most likely it’s a skip unless I have enough bc left over for one copy at the end.

As a new player, is the staff worth getting for an early investment? Matt is my preferred healer/hybrid choice anyway, and this weapon would cut down the need to focus on 3 of Red's weapons. Given Sephiroth has every element in his arsenal and two give him breech, would Matt, Aerith and Sephi, but a good focus team if I got this staff? Also love the channel, very helpful for learning things here!

2 pages and managed to get the UW and Terra's rod to ob6.. my aerith is kinda weak and she's my main support. I need to give her some love , so no regrets..

To me, this weapon is about coverage - and Aerith finds her way into a LOT of content. So the idea of being able to run Aerith with all of her other limited weapons, plus her new ultimate, along with having a debuffing option for multiple elements seems pretty good. If you evaluate it on its own, I agree, it's not really notable when compared to Red. But given how much more focus Aerith gets compared to Red, I think it's fair to say that being able to run this with some of her other builds has value. I grabbed one copy.

While pulling for 1 copy just to have the functionality in case we see the compositions of fights change in the future has hypothetical merit, I have to think back to Yuffie's Earth Arcanum and how we've yet to see a single fight that gives a modicum of a hoot about physical earth damage specifically.

They tricked us with the weapon animation, the weapon shows a wind attack but its not and I assume that will be the same for all the FF6 crossover weapons.

I totally agree with all of your takes on this weapon. Attack debuffs are the only reason Aerith will still get replaced by Red in certain situations. I have Bahamut Robe and Kamura dress so I’m pulling once and using weapon parts if needed. I love the versatility this weapon adds to her kit 😮😁🔥🔥🔥

Great suggestion Nite, I definitely agree that 1 copy is all you *really* need and even then I'd still argue this item, while very good, is a luxury weapon because as you said, we have several options for characters who breach. The way I look at this item is that it's expanded upon the Aerith's already excellent toolset. She's just becoming this swiss army knife that you can bring to just about any fight, with all the defensive buffs she has, offensive buffs, healing, breaches (she now has 4 elements covered with this and Floral Wand) and even damage! So yeah, I think it's safe to say Aerith is back on top as the best character in the game in terms of worth of investment. So That's realistically why I'll pull for a single copy of the weapon, if just to make her more versatile. That all said, going back to my original point I don't think players will suffer if they don't pull for this as some of our best breacher's (like Red) have multiple elemental coverage and other characters can technically do a better job in some cases! Take example for Sephiroth with his Fire Breach weapon, in some cases it's better than Aerith's because his comes with the PDEF debuff, so if the boss is susceptible to PDEF debuffs and Fire res down, then I'd say Seph should be your go-to breacher. Regardless, it's a strong weapon and you can't really go wrong with this at all.

Low - mid spender here, probably similar spend to yourself. I just pulled one copy so far (6 stamps). IMO, this weapon is for 1) whales who always want to have an ideal setup 2) all-in-one debuff for newbies who have yet to develop a mature debuff kit 3) general versatility for non-newbies or non-whales (this group probably being most of us). Aerith has become BY FAR the best character in the game (granted gated by limited weapons), so this just adds to her kit, allowing her to be used in even more scenarios. It can also supplement your existing debuffers to combat against battles that increasingly are adding more and more mechanics needed (e.g. needing diamond sigil, atk up to your party, atk down to enemy, elemental debuff needed to enemy, def up to your party, etc).

So you are not suggesting to ob6 Terra but you wishlist a day 1 collar?

I'm an idiot and I didn't wait for yours, Ryder's, and Octo's videos! I blasted through a bunch of crystals chasing OB6 and now I'm stuck at OB5. I need to learn some patience waiting for your guidance. Thanks for all you do for the community!

I agree that in terms of pulling you shouldnt need to pass 6 stamp as the weapon has great value early. If you push further you would want a lot of her elemental weapons at good obs to have true value. I pushed to 6 stamp where I got lucky and did decide to push on this banner but I do have great Aerith subs and thats what does matter I think in considering a full push.

On my side I went for 6 stamps i'm liké you with red weapons ready but they dont cover the same roles in end game fight as you said. Red will be here when we need to debuff matk (or even use his limit 3 like in current crash or ifrit) whereas Aerith is here to heal having the option on Aerith if the fight does not need Red is perfect (compacted two rôles in one unit making possible to bring two dps) two units two différents scenarios where they work or not getting 6 stamp offer a range of option that might be important for ifrit for instance it's not an issue we will bring Red still and use Aerith as heal + Citric buff

Dude you miss the point ... Red's weapon is Matt's Centipede (not Core Defender), but with MDef instead of PDef. And if you had used before Centipede, you know how OP that weapon is and pretty much a must in some of the hardest content like EX3, crash. Hint: the ability to heal + def up the whole party in just 5 atb, combined with powerful single target matteria heal. Now, 10-12s is very short for normal use (to protect your party all the time) and that is why the combo with the Red's costume (which is like Buf/Debuf arcanum) is just perfect and puts Red's on par with Matt as healer (specialized on mDef) When you put some of the great utility selection that Red has in the offhand - most of the time you could easily run 2DPS + Red.
