CIOKS - Why we use RCA connectors..?
Why do we use the RCA plugs and sockets..?
There are 4 reasons:
1. They are more robust and durable.
2. You get a much better mechanical connection.
3. You get a much better electrical connection.
4. You will not confuse input and output of the cables.
Watch the video and find out in detail why the RCA connectors are better than the more common DC connectors.

How to power Effectrode pedals
Просмотров 9 тыс.6 лет назад
This video explains and shows how to power two Effectrode tube pedals using CIOKS DC7 power supply. The bigger Tube-Vibe for sure needs two outlets in a parallel configuration using #8800 Parallel adapter Flex while the smaller less power demanding Compressor might work on a single DC7 outlet. In any case you need the red Flex cable and you need to set used outlets for these pedals to 12V DC.

Whats the point of powering a Volca Mix with a Pedalboard PSU? It literally comes with a regular PSU.
Does anyone else here the high shrieking noice?
Hello Cioks team, I have a few questions and would appreciate your guidance: It’s almost impossible to find a 24V40 adapter. Do you have any suggestions for a replacement? Should we consider using a laptop adapter instead? You’ve mentioned Cioks 4 Versions 1.0 and 1.1. (I have 1.2 BTW) What are the differences between these units? Which power supply would you recommend for these units? Is it acceptable to use a power supply with 5V/3A for both versions? There are many power bank options available, and people would prefer not to buy an expensive one unless there is a real benefit. There are some DC 2.1 to USB-C adapters on the market. Would we get better results with a power bank if we use these adapters? If so, which cable would you recommend? You make the best power supplies on the market, and I respect that. However, many people like me have limited knowledge of volts, watts, and currents. A simple guide would be helpful so that we can spend our limited funds on the correct units. Thank you very much, and I understand this video is four years old, so I'm not sure if I'll get a reply-but any response would be greatly appreciated! Best regards,
How do I power a Line 6 stomp like a DL4 that requires 1200mA at 9volts??
Does anyone know if the One Spot CS6 fits a templeboard in terms of screws? I want to do this same thing but with CS6.
But no one talks about the power cable? Mickey Mouse does not plug into the USA IEC ? What is the deal? Do I need an adaptor for that or do I have the wrong Ac Module….
S pozdravem Peter Soos
Can DCCioks 10 use Strymon Iridium pedal 500mA? Please Sir
03:51 - "if you want to move or remove this pedal from the board, you'll have to of course remove the power supply first". I bet that's the trickiest part, because you can't unscrew the power supply without detaching the pedal first. And you can't unscrew the pedal, because it's covered with the power supply underneath the board. So the only way left is to detach the pedal from the sticky pad completely. I would like to see people doing it on a real board - it must be suffering of some sort
I'm sitting here right now with the hex stand offs and a dc7/dc8, and still can't figure out a good way to mount them on my templeboard
@@KittyKatATK I did that just yesterday. I had an existing working board where I wanted to replace the power supply. The tricky part was to find the right spot for dc7 - it can’t go under large pads. With medium pads it sort of matches, but I was able to screw down only two stand-offs out of 3. And of course I needed to detach one of the pedals from a medium pad and use my spare one to mount the supply first and re-attach that pedal again. If you’re building your board from scratch, then you may want to be really careful with layouting. I was shocked that cabling changed the desired layout drastically. With a power supply it’s just one more thing to keep in mind. Good luck
Will the Cioks SOL power the Stomp with the correct 2.5 yellow cable?
Thanks for making this. I recently bought a DC7 and was thinking about an Effectrode Delta Trem, so this is perfect. (the DC7 is great btw, very pleased with it)
Noob question - Does pushing the DSP on these units push the power drawn?
I used the USB connection for a LEDstrip. Looks cool, but doesn't have a real purpose.
How do you remove the power supply without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply?
Do we know If I can chain the Eventide/cioks Powermax to 2 Cioks Hi5 Templeboard Modules?
can you use this power supply with a desktop synth (or multiple synths) eg behringer K2, neutron etc...?
Can i use a 25w or 45w usb c power supply and use the full 4x 660A ?
Can I power my Behringer synthesizers?
I'm hoping so......
I'm hoping so....
send the links for the cables of hx stomps please where can i buy it in usa
Best ever power supplies.
Crazy thought but, could you use 3 gray parallel flex? The first 2 plugged in 4 of the DC7 slots and the 3rd one to connect those 2 so that you could have 2.6 of current head room? Is that a safe connection? Assuming that its all in 9v
So i just bought this as it said it's a power supply. Not realising its a expansion. Can this unit be used alone as a power supply
Very friendly with the competition 1 spot 😊
The fact that I can go to any country and just plug in and play and not forget to flip any switches is amazing.
I thougt using that cable would give you 24v. As the two 12v ports would double to 24v?
what about ARmk2 / Octratrack/ A4 mk2?
Hi, I have your DC10 power supply unit. I would like to know if it is possible to use the DC10 to power both a Digitakt and a Digitone at the same time. It seems that input #10 on the DC10 is the only input that could be set for 12 volts with high enough milliamps, but I don't know if I totally understand how it works. Let me know what you think?
I would kill for those multimeter leads.
Excellent!! 👍🏼🎸😊
Hello CIOKS team! I have the DC7 and I need a power supply for my Reverb pedal (Van amps sole mate - requirements: 12VAC, Current draw: 125ma peak). Can I use the CIOKS DC4 Expander in conjunction with the CIOKS DC7 to power this pedal? You can always make other recommendations, I appreciate it.. Best regards and thank you for your excellent products!
You guys forgot a rly crucial point! If u want to put the pedal in before u put the power supply, the only way to remove your pedal to remove the powers supply again is to detach it from the patch u glued in...
Just remove the power supply first?
@sirlost94 How do you remove the power supply without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply that you can’t remove without removing the pedal that you can’t remove without removing the power supply.
@@jonathonevans9973 lol usually you’d have put the PS last so that should be the first one to be removed. I added a bracket to the pedalboard and it’s super easy, 4 screws and it’s out
I am not finding where to purchase the 24V power adapter 'Adapter Kit" that is mentioned in the video at time stamp 2:28.
Leaving a comment here for the same reason.
Discontinued I believe.
Great power supply. The adapter kit is not available anymore. The Boss PSA 230s(9V/500mA) does not work with it, but my GoSolid! adapter(9.1V/1000mA) does.
I put the Cioks 4 on a Pedaltrain Nano. The 24V adapter was not included. Where can I get that adapter with the bracket?
Could you guys do this test for a line 6 pod go wireless?
wow - thats supercool!
Love my DC7 and the expansion possibilities 🥰 Would love to see a Clip-Mount for Palmer Pedalbay-Boards 🍀🙏
One of the best power supplies
Best power supply available.
Apa kelebihan dari cioks schizophrenic?
🤣🤣 I'm the red one user... And I just changed to CIOKS; watched this video before.
When you plug in the power for the HX, are the two channels on 9v?
it would be a great feature to add a 230V power through ouput to be able to link one of the many pedalboard amps to it as well. then it would be a complete package deal! please correct me if such a thing exists already
Tak for det! Good to know :)
Can DC7 power up HX stomp and Boss GT1000 Core together?
I wonder if the Headrush MX5 would also be able to be supplied by two outputs from the Cioks Sol. That would be awesome.
Sudah isolate?
Having the mains power on the side instead of the rear of the power supply is silly. I'm getting the fender engine room lvl12
Waiting on Cioks to make a pedalboard of their own similar to the pedaltrains……c’mon guys.
