Please tell us the spec for the power adapter to use this independently. The website said this can be used as a standalone unit. Not even the adapter for the Cioks 4 works. I’m about to return this. At the moment, it’s a frickin’ paperweight.
I had the DC7 and the 8 expander for a large board, im downsizing from the larger board to 2 smaller boards, now that i have the 8 expander i cannot power it independently, cant find a proper power supply. This is something to consider for people looking at the 8 expander, if you wish to do the same you will have the 8 expander being useless. The 8 expander without an external power supply being available is extremely limited.
So happy with my DC7 and glad I went with that one last time I needed a power supply. The C8 is absolutely my next purchase together with the link cable. Perfect products together with the grips for effortless mounting and smug fits. Highly recommendable 👌💯🤘
Priceless information at 12:54. Have a DC7, but also recently purchased the DC7/8 Extension combo, and was wondering about whether the 8 could be mounted with the same Grip Bracket. Excellent!
Thanks again Poul for another awesome video... please post one on powering TC Helicon pedals for us guitar/vocalists... especially the TC helicon Voicelive 3 Extreme thanks!!
Since the Cioks 4 can be used as a stand-alone psu, could it power the Cioks 8 with a dc link cable? I'm asking because I have the Cioks 4, and need to expand.
Need to make an “AC Brick” like this that has four 12V AC 800ma isolated power sections. That way people could choose whatever cioks unit they need for their DC power needs and link the “AC Brick” to it.
Is the grip that is compatible with the Cioks 8, the same as the one for DC7? For example "Cioks Grip" is for mounting DC7 and 8 to pedaltrain, and "Cioks Mini Grip" is for the 4?
Big fan of the Cioks brand and units, but the fact that Cioks 8 is not offered with an optional power supply to use as stand alone does not make sense to me. They did it with the 4- why not the 8?
Cioks says “you can power it with an adapter putting out anything from 9V to 24V DC or 9V to 12V AC. This means you can easily power it with the type of adapter you would normally use to run a single effects pedal, a laptop adapter or any other common adapter you have laying around.” That’s not true AT ALL. I’ve tried 4 different 24v power supplies, and none of them fit. I even bought the adapter for the Cioks 4. That doesn’t work either. This is a piece of dead weight.
It needs to be at least 60w to get the full power out of the Cioks 8, but nowhere can I find the barrel type or if it needs to be center positive or negative for the power input of the Cioks 8. Their support would not provide the info either. I get it they want to sell more DC7 along with the 8, but don't get greedy if people are willing to purchase just the 8 why not 1. Make an ac adapter to purchase separately or 2. Let us know the exact specs to purchase an after market power supply.
Their saying is actually true. However, you need an adapter with 6.5x4.3mm plug to power it. The plug for CIOKS 4 is 5.5x2.1mm size. Some Sony laptop adapter will fit.
Dear sir I’m planning to use Line6 HX Stomp and Boss GT1000 Core together. Can you please help me to solve this problem ? I’ve seen the video of powering HX stomp . Thanks 🙏
I don't understand making CIOKS 8 as an expander rather than a standalone. It looks lighter and more compact than DC 7 which would have been a great upgrade to the DC 7 if not for that adapter.

Just ordered this to go with my Cioks DC7! Can't wait for all of my pedals to get noiseless, clean power!

7:38 Cool! Thank you for this explanation.
Is it possible to connect the cioks 8 directly to a 24v power supply?

So i just bought this as it said it's a power supply. Not realising its a expansion. Can this unit be used alone as a power supply
Does Cioks make a brick for a 12VAC 1000mA?

What if I use cioks 8 as a stand alone power supply? What kind of power adapter I must use to run it properly?
I also have the same question in mind
Same here ...

Yes, it is. there is a smaller Grip version for the Cioks 4 if you are going to use the 4 as well, Mini Grip.
Seems hard to get hold of the longer DC link cables, are there any good alternatives out there?

@@jonkuenningtry some Sony or HP adapters with 6.5x4.3mm plug. It will work.

Holding out for CIOKS 10
It is lighter and smaller because of the fact that it is merely an expander, not a full powersupply in itself.
