I just finished selling off all of my other power supplies to pick up a second DC-7. This unit is great. Most of my effects I use often are 12V and high current draw (Effectrode, Free the Tone, Etc.) and this is the only power supply I've come across that can easily handle everything I have to throw at it.
Those features look really appealing. However i would like to ask why this unit has different DC-outlet ports? Most companies use a specifc one and you can use old cables. Im curious on the decision. Thanks :)
I'm not sure if you're still monitoring this video to answer questions. I just bought a DC-7, I have a PedalTrain Mini board (discontinued model), and it seems the DC-7 just barely fits underneath, between the rails. There is no room to use the Cioks mounting bracket ("sold separately") and I'm nervous about trying to drill holes in the pedalboard. Can I use velcro (PedalTrain brand) to attach the DC-7 underneath the board, will it hold it? (I'm not crazy about marring the DC-7 with velcro, which would cover up the screw holes). How about using zip ties, at least as a temporary solution? Hope to hear back from you, thanks.
I just got this and it is fantastic - powers most of my synths including the Mother32 without the need for a current doubler - very happy Is it okay to leave the thing on all the time? pretty much 24-7 lets say? The instruments plugged into it will all be switched off but to turn it off I have to unplug it and its kind out mounted pretty good.
@@tendingtropic7778 the DC7 outputs center negative polarity - but the mother requires Centre-positive. the cable colored red that comes with the dc7 should work. or use a Polarity Reversal Cable adapter on any of the normal black cables. the real beauty of the DC7 and RCA power cables is - you can make your own length and polarity power cables cheaply and easily.
Well, it is a couple Volt above the stated 22V but I would say ok to this as we already have recommended this with out older power supplies. For the Balackstar HT dirt pedals which draw just below 400mA it was enough to use two 400mA outlets at 12V in a series configuration giving you 400mA at 24V. You can do the same with DC7 and use two outlets both set to 12V and the #2200 series adapter Flex followed by a red type 2 Flex cable. The HT-Delay, HT-Reverb and HT-Modulation draw just below 600mA and here I would recommend to use the 24V AUX outlet to power one of those. We'll soon release an adapter cable so the 24V outlet can be used with any of our standard Flex cables. This solution would also be suitable for the Blackstar HT dirt pedals, the newer ones supposed to be powered of 22V.
The Shift Line Olympic MkIII Preamp/DI requires 12v and 600mA power to properly operate. Is it possible on the DC7 to use a Y cable between two terminals (each set at 12v) in order to sufficiently power this preamp?
Hi, if the pedal you need to power exceeds the rating of one outlet you should use two outlets in a parallel configuration using the #8800 Parallel adapter Flex followed by a Flex matching the input socket of the pedal you wish to power. Please watch another video we just did with two Effectrode pedals which are quite demanding and in most cases need two outlets to be powered correctly. Take a look at: ruclips.net/video/UXMbw-je0eE/видео.html
They will push into the side of the body of the board. Beware of scratching that finish though if your at all anal about that sort of thing or think you may resell. I’m not so I’m probably going to pick one up
@@ciokspowersuppliesforeffec7533 Can i then run the G2 from THE GIGRIG that takes 650ma and also powering all my high current pedals when ojai or the CIOKS4 are hooked up to the 24 extention outlet?
Our new DC7 definately works with Line 6 HX Effects. I have tested this and the results are on our FB page. Look at this: facebook.com/CIOKS/posts/1838804052864814 We'll have a closer look at the HX Firehawk and POD HD500X and measure their respective power requirements possibly already tomorrow. I'll get the HX Stomp in for testing within the next two weeks. So stay tuned.
The fact that I can go to any country and just plug in and play and not forget to flip any switches is amazing.

The 24V output is pretty cool. It can power a Mooer Baby Bomb power amp, eliminating the need for wall warts completely.
Wait? Really I m building a ampless board and that would be cool if it can do that
@@tejashbohra3311 Yeah, you only need to solder yourself an adaptor cable. As far as I know the DC-7 24V output uses an EIAJ-05 connector.
@@zeemon9623 yeah as soon as I read your comment I started looking for the adapter and I couldn't find one
One of the best power supplies
Thanks, Poul for producing a ROCK-SOLID power supply and explaining it yourself... very hands-on you have a sub and a sale
Awesome power!
The best!
Thx you! ;) Perfect for my pedalboard nano!
Ordered mine today🤩
Awesome! This is what we need!
Just bought it!
Awesome but the BIG question? Will it power a Deluxe Memory Man 24volts?

This is awesome.
How do I power a Line 6 stomp like a DL4 that requires 1200mA at 9volts??

Try 3M Dual Lock! Much stronger than Velcro 😁
Can the 24v output power a Hughes & kettner stompman?
Dying for this thing to finally reach Australia :'(
i found one on ebay from USA it was only 300AUD including shipping and taxes- they are being sold for $450 aud in the shops in sydney...

Is pedaltrain metro 24 compatible with cioks dc7?
I believe it is. The dc7 is very thin. I’m thinking of getting a Metro Max though. Bit more room for more pedals
Any improvement on noise level over DC10?

The simple answer is: YES it is possible.
Can you recreate a dying battery sound on a fuzz with the dc7?
You can do that with an add on from gigrig.
Wait, No drilling is needed with the CIOKS grip? Then how do the other 2 screws attach to the front of a pedaltrain?
By pressure.

Will you launch the other CIOKS 8 and 4 this year 2018 ?
Yeap i'm waiting answer for this question as well. And what will be it's dimensions also.
We now aim for a launch of CIOKS 4 around April and CIOKS 8 in June.
so you could hook up a strymon ojai to the 24 extention outlet? it looks like it could work but... someone got any input on that?
Yes, DC7 is compatible with both Ojai units and can be expanded with these. Also with new CIOKS 4 and CIOKS 8 once they become available.

I’m curious how much power the PS itself consumes, in milliamps or amps?
its 48w so if you max it out with all 9v devices it do 5.33 amps.
if you had all the switches on 12v it would be about 4amps
