Hey tony.. we need more crazy stuff .. subbed✌️👌 🇱🇰
What to do about scammers? All i encountered on facebook was people saying they will pay huge more then hundreds of dollars for small edits
these vids are super useful thank you!!
this amazing podcast or interview. i liked it very well, don't be discourage about the view it gets you guys are cool
Wow, just found this video and want to say a huge thank you to you and Mariah for sharing her experience as a female video editor at the most well-known tech channel! I am also a video editor, working on videos for 3 channels now (on of our channels is 'TheFigCo', and it was useful to know about experience in MKBHD team, workflow and work life balance. I'm only 1 year in this profession, never thought I end up as a video editor, but it was always my passion. Our 2 editors are using DaVinci Resolve, and I'm the only one who loves FinalCut and I'm grateful that it's okay haha :) So thank you! That's an interesting journey and so unusual that Mariah has like a 9-5 normal schedule. I personally work remotely but I love it, built my own discipline so now I can handle my tasks. And also trying to fit my own youtube channel into this schedule )
will the 24 gb ram be enough for heavy editing and graphics?
This gonna be a banger fr
You got that right!
Thank you.
Amazing video! It might be the editing style, but I think it would be nice to see more personality in your interviews. Right now, it feels like I'm reading a blog post or a Q&A with very little interaction between you and your guests. There's a lack of reactions, laughs, or personality. I watched until the end because the questions were really interesting and detailed-great job on that! However, adding these extras would add more color and make longer videos like this more fun and engaging to watch. The Colin & Samir channel is a great example of what I'm describing. Thank you for this video again, Tony!
Bro your videos are awesome and informative, even the video quality is fabulous i am inspired by your editing and content. Keep pushing yourself . We are supporting you, love from India ❤
Thank you for the comment, I’ll do my best to give you all the best advice I can.
Great interview Tony, glad to see the exposure of a talent editor like Raya, and her opinion of a healthy work-life balance. Keep it up!
Thank you for this video! I am going through the same thing as an editor, and I am currently burned out. I have no idea how to get out of it, but I start having issues with starting to work at all: from someone who worked 12+hr a day to not getting started; if I take a weekend off to work on my personal life stuff then I am almost behind with work; I don't sleep well nor enough, and then I have a rush and I do in one day what I didn't do in 3 days but then I am having a hard time again. Trying to find a balance now too- hope you are better and if you got any thoughts on how to balance things let me know!
Did avid is a paid software
Thank you for making this! 🙏🏾💕
Hey!!!So much going on here … subscribed🎉……
Hi can you make a vid reacting to showreels to show us what kind of showreels is at what level and what we need to focus in showreels
Great idea!
Appreciate the very informative video!
90% you talking about Tom. 10% Mariah. What a waste.
around the 17:40 mark you talk too much about yourself. no offence but I didnt click this video for that.
You’re a great interviewer, Tony. You ask good questions and you let them talk without interrupting.
Awesome digest Tony! I can feel the pain you experienced while filming this video😁 Reading all those "job offers" is tough, I receive similar stuff at least a few times per week too. Your advice is great for beginners, at least they will know what to expect and what to instantly ignore. Next time, don't stop yourself from swearing while reading all those examples!
I like her
Great content! Well done.
Definitely want to know how they all handle notes?

thanks!
Your math is correct but location is wrong, buddy. These numbers are not for you or for me but for cheap guys from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. They are killing the market. They can even edit one 10 minutes video for 10 dollars including giving the project file to customer. These remote jobs killed the industry. I am a video editor myself. I started in 1997 with IMMIX TurboCube which probably you don't even heard before. Then I edited with Video Toaster, 601, Avid, Premiere, Quantel Harry, DPS Velocity, Vegas, FCP. Now I am making money from video QA for a big player. Again, these numbers are not for people living in a 1st world country. Example: A subsidiary of United Nations offered 1000 dollars to a friend of mine for a very complicated video editing project. Of course she rejected. If they could, they would go to India, they can find people to do that job for 50 dollars, trust me. But they will find someone willing to do that maybe for a lower price. Why? They do not care about quality and they do not know what quality is. Back then, software and hardware was expensive. An NLE suite price was starting from 100.000 dollars. Just because of price drop, everyone considers themselves video editors. No sir, you are not. You are an idiot who knows how to use a software. You are not an editor. You are an idiot with a computer. Cheap software, cheap hardware, cheap people. That's it.
Jesus loves you.
Thanks for the video, dear, do you think mac mini m2 ram8 will work for editing 4k 60fps iphone13 videos with premiere? Or am I bothered because of the RAM? Each project is 30 to 70 gigs (about 3 hours) of raw data, which takes about 15 minutes and less than 2 gigs. Thank you for your guidance🙏♥️
Thank you! I love your content, very helpful. Thanks you so much, Tony. From South Korea.
Super helpful video!! I'm just getting started and this gets me so pumped!
God was leading you brother!
I truly believe He was and still is.
Tony - thank you for sharing your journey brother! I'm just getting started and this is super helpful to hear!
What Motion Graphics software do you use and what do you recommend for beginners Great
I use Adobe After Effects and would recommend anyone wanting to do Mograph to use the same. If not, I know Davinci Resolve with Fusion is another thing to try.
As a video editor whose just starting off on their RUclips journey, this video along with others of yours that I’ve watched have been really inspirational and beneficial. Thank you for sharing your story and I wish you the best in reaching all of your goals.
Hearing Nix's creative journey makes me nostalgic of my own. It's interesting how being "ready" for opportunity can lead to so many fulfilling experiences.
Pay per video is a joke. The sad thing is the worst paid gigs often times comes with the most delusional egotistical psychos running the show lol.
Not only that but these prices my first thought would be "hourly right?" hahah
Ah nice, I was wondering when this episode would drop. Excited to listen through it. Keep up the hard work Tony.
Thanks! Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
@@TonyStoodios I always enjoy listening to editors who have a passion for what they do. Nix’s story and the effort you put into making these episodes really proves that passion. It’s very inspiring. I grew up watching Nickelodeon so it was really entertaining to hear Nix’s story. I especially enjoyed hearing how her enjoyment of editing and networking helped her navigate the editing job landscape. I also found the section where you guys discuss Work Life Balance to be very helpful for myself who’s starting out. Also I enjoyed the graphics. I find it inspiring that you put so much effort into these episodes even after a hard days work. Thank you for bringing us this type of content. It helps. Looking forward to the next one.
thank you so much for this video tony. i have the base 8g ram m2 mini with a 2 tb external hard drive to keep the mini as "empty" as possible. i purchased it for the obvious basic browsing, normal home use. but recently my family have been taking more vacations and i was thinking of buying an action camera. would my base mac mini be ok just to edit short 5-10 min 1080p, 1440p or possibly 4k family adventure/vacation videos on imovie?
It will definitely be able to edit all of that! Just keep an eye on your RAM :)
@@TonyStoodios im just starting out so ill probably keep it at 1080p for now to practice. thank you so much tony, im a new subscriber.
Great interview and great interview questions!
Nice Video
Please someone tell can i have devinci resolve free version on this apple mac mini base version
Yes you can
She needs Resolve.
Kind of surprised she said Final Cut has zero support for audio. I work for a media company that primarily used logic for everything and we use Final Cut solely because it plays so nicely with logic for audio. There are some great audio tools in Final Cut
This is amazing! Thank you for making this video, Tony!! Appreciate it a lot! You help so many editors with this video! Thanks a lot! Please keep making this kind of videos! 🥺🙏🏻
I most definitely will - I'm happy to give as many insights as I can.
@@TonyStoodios Can't wait!! Thank you, Tony!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. There are not too many people who can openly talk about their editing work. It's really helpful and motivating. Wish you to reach all that goals that you have
I love your openness. It really helps me to keep going my work path. Hopefully it helps to other people as well. It's so hard for me to start sharing anything from my current editing work, because I'm in the country that is in war. I feel some guilt, like my work progress is not relevant to my relatives who are stressed every day. But the things you're saying are so right. It's crucial to show what you do and it's a huge boost to your personal brand. And time is really limited, so we have to use it smart
Good for her.
Everybody's learning blender . I like it
Very cool insights into MKBHD post workflow! Mariah, thanks for sharing. Tony, very good, thoughtful questions. Kudos for that. More content like this, please.
15:00 I just don't understand why they still didn't move to DaVinci Resolve Studio, with Blackmagic Cloud the whole team work with remote editors works like a charm... you want color grading, bam, just go to the color grading tab. You need to mix audio, bam, open Fairlight tab, you can work on proxies for remote editors, making file transfers very smooth and easy, to me it's just so much better solution... no freaking FCP limitations or Adobe crashes and subscription. I wouldn't change it for anything in the world...
