I’ve some degeneration but I also have a hernia. Heading off to physio today to see how I can perhaps do some strength trunk g with the hernia.
Hi! It’s difficult for us to comment on specific individual circumstances as we can’t be there to assess you in person. It's good to know that you are checking with your local physio today. Thanks for watching!
Happy new Year!
Just what I need at this time.
Thanks for watching Diane! 😀
Great video thanks. Is this suitable if you have prolapse or pelvic floor issues? If not what would be a safe alternative?
Hi Kaz, That's a fair question. Unfortunately it's too complicated and nuanced for me to give you a clear answer. I would suggest discussing it in person with a pelvic health physiotherapist, who can assess you individually, and come up with a plan. Generally speaking, to improve strength and bone density, you need to work your body against a challenging resistance. For people with pelvic floor related issues (SUI,POP etc) this may cause increased symptoms. Each individual needs to consider the risks vs rewards of engaging in this type of physical activity. Our philosophy generally is "don't rule out any exercise". We think many people with pelvic floor related issues (SUI,POP etc) can find a way to do these types of exercises safely. But we can't guarantee it. You certainly would need to build up to this type of exercise gradually. Starting with just basic squats for example. Gradually adding weight over time. Potentially starting some small jumps if all is going well. Progressing from there. But once again, this is best done with the guidance of a pelvic health physio. We think "The Pelvic Health Podcast by Lori Forner" is a great resource for this topic and related issues, so a good starting place for you o learn more.
@ Thank you for taking the time to give this detailed answer, it’s very helpful and I will check out the podcast.
This is great content, very helpful. Love seeing Aussie trained physios YT
Will these help pain across top of for? I’ve been told my ligaments are done!
Yes, they probably will help with that!
A very helpful video. All 5 facts were new to me and have eased my anxiety about my back pain. I have a herniated disc at L4/5 and all sorts of other findings I don't understand. I found fact 2 about sensitivity very interesting because I have noticed how stress appears to affect my back pain. I still have to overcome the anxiety of doing any movement that may set my back off, and confront my lack of confidence but as all the community members keep reminding me...start low, go slow (I think that's it!). Thank you Be Mobile Team!
You're welcome Kendall. Start low, go slow... that's it!
Definitely will be adding the back exercise to my workout 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great to hear! Hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for your comment - great to hear you found them helpful!
What if you also have damaged joints from RA?
It’s difficult for us to comment on specific individual circumstances as we can’t be there to assess you in person. In general, we recommend for everyone to begin with a structured exercise program using their symptoms as a guide to start at a tolerable intensity, and progress at their own pace. We would recommend checking with your local physio or GP if you have any concerns.
Great fun, love watching you guys not wanting to crack up. Making exercise fun. Been doing BMobile for a while now and you just keep reinventing fun. Merry Christmas

Great fun guys, keep up the good work!
I've only been part of the BeMobile family since Black Friday and already I'm hooked. You guys are great, and are miracle workers. I'll be much more mindful about a healthy Christmas because of this fun Christmas Special!
Step ups are easy for me. Step down forward (as descending stairs) are painful. Are there any exercises to help with that?
We have a video all about improving your strength, balance and fitness for stairs, which you can watch here ruclips.net/video/7okcI3CqLxA/видео.htmlsi=h1r9VTIz3576vpPQ. The focus of the video is going up stairs, not down. But actually all the same exercises and principles apply. These exercises will improve the strength and capacity of your knee, to make it better and handling both the ascend and the descend. In particular, the step tapping exercise from 3:09-3:25 mimics going down stairs. You can practice that one, holding onto a railing for balance if needed, and that will help you improve.
Nice movements thanks Brodie . I added in some heel raises, while waiting for toastie to cook. 👌
Loved your Christmas message. Thank you ALL for your fabulous work. Look forward to joining you NOW, I'm about to do my exercises. Regards Kaye.
Any advice on what weight to lift? I just never know. Mind you, I rarely manage more than 2kg. What should an older woman aim for?
The number on the weight is not important. What is important is that your muscles, bones and joints are challenged -- that you you use a weight that feels heavy to you. You should aim to lift the heaviest weight you can manage comfortably and feel safe with. The more you do it, the stronger you get, so ideally you can use progressively heavier weights. If right now you can deadlift 2kg. Great, do that. If you can deadlift 20kg, great do that. If you can deadlift 200kg, great do that. There' no upper limit. You can't be too strong!
Thanks, that's helpful to know 👍
Loving the awful wigs and terrible trousers 😳! Stephanie needs a razor for Christmas 😂. Great video, Merry Fitness to you all 💪😊
Brilliant! That's going to be great for reminding me to be motivated with "push-ups, squats and curls" over Christmas! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and another inspirational year in 2025!
