The start/stop crap and the cylinder deactivation garbage is so they can comply with CAFE ratings imposed by the government. The extreme complexity of modern engines is due entirely to government emission standards. The EPA ruined modern diesels and now they're ruining gas cars and trucks as well.

These automakers need to take this new junk to the Scrapyard along with them. They're all feeling the pressure with no one buying due to out pricing all their customers out the market. We don't feel bad for any of y'all greedy pigs.

The thing to remember is that if you buy one of these vehicles it may last you 100K. But when you go to trade it in, or sell it outright,,that’s when you take the price hit. By then it will be easy to find out where all the problem areas are. It’s going to be the second and third owners having the issues. That is if they make it that long.

not only are people paying way over what these vehicles are worth, they are also finding out what I've been saying for years. New vehicles are nothing but very expensive laptops on wheels. There's nothing to repair, everything is replaced and it's all licensed. you don't even own the vehicle. So, down the road the manufacturers will stop supporting the older software and guess what, like smart phones and laptops, they'll force you to buy another or pay thru the nose for new software. whatever happened to affordable cars and trucks? I have to vehicles over 20 years old and I love them. I keep repairing and rebuilding them myself. 99 RAM 1500 4x4 and 90 caddy brougham.

Considering how CDJR designed their vehicles to be a pain to service and repair independently, I'm surprised anyone buys their junk.

I seen this coming and before they were gone, we purchased a 2024 4runner pro in underground color for MSRP and yes, it's a dinosaur but it's the old school reliable Toyota we all loved and its gone BYE BYE the new models use cheaper components, more plastic and have small displacement turbo engines that are loud and will last 200k before you'll need to replace the turbos in them.

Automotive manufactures have priced out every american buyer its sad. A family cant afford to get a new vehicle that they need. What happened to auto makers. Its sad. Each year cars get more and more cheaply built with more corners getting cut. You cant even work on your own car anymore.

I own a 2001 Mercedes E430 and a 2005 E55 AMG and have no plans of ever selling them or getting anything newer than 2015 or so. I do my own work and I spend less than $1000 a year for maintenance and repairs for both of them. They NEED these cars to break regularly so you are forced to buy a new one. They are changing the laws to kill older cars for the same end purpose.

Toyota has cut so many corners over the years and their prices have sky rocketed while the quality has plummeted.

I got a 24 tacoma a few months ago, and I love it. I invested in the Limited with the tech package so I EXPECTED the price upcharge compared to the 23, but $10k extra for a BASE model is just nuts. I'm not even concerned about the drive train, I love the 4 cylinder hybrid because I use mine for long drives and the occasional off roading.

Glad I purchased a new 2nd generation 2021 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro employing that bulletproof naturally aspirated 3UR-FE 5.7 liter V-8 engine and reliable 6 speed Aisan transmission

Ram is advertising incentives that damn near no one qualifies for but they advertise the final sales price with all the incentives deducted from the price. Such deceptive practices. Cut it out.

Im priced out. I used to trade cars every year sometimes sooner because i knew the people at the dealer and didnt lose very much each time. That is no longer the case. I unloaded a hellcat, paid off my mortgage and bought a cash car with the equity I had in it.

dealers get what they deserve and if Jeep and Dodge go out of business they did it to themselves, our local GMC dealer never screwed anyone during those times where dealers were charging over MSRP, and our dealer never charged over MSRP. so I will stick with them and not bother with any other dealer. Sorry to sound harsh but we looked for an SUV during the crazy time, and the local Kia and Hyundai dealer wanted to charge $5K over and said it is non negotiable, so we left the dealer and never went back

Toyota moved the plant from Texas to Mexico. They should be cheaper, if labor is the deciding factor. Poor quality is well known about Mexican plants.
