The F-150 was great when you could have gotten a brand new standard cab F-150 with an 8-foot bed for $18K about 12-15 years ago. That's a work truck, that could be used for work, and it doesn't cause any heart break from dents, dings, and scratches from using it for its intended purpose.
Probably since most folks can only do with one vehicle now so those that are willing to have their only daily driver be a truck for truck stuff, they also want it to be luxurious and have all the feature / tech they’d want in a daily driver
2012 F150 regular cab V8 non 4x4, bedliner, 3.55 gears, and tow package. MSRP was $23K with those options. Got a discount but not down to $18K but close. 12 years later that exact truck is $43K.

Just got a1500 Laramie, pack 2 with bed and sport pack and Pano-roof, after all the discounts and loyalty, 61K out the door. Love this truck. After so many trucks tested, I went back to the RAM. IMHO, puts Ford and GMC deep in the pocket. I am very impressed with the ride and power. Its a shame that Stellantis is still fighting for these expensive trucks and not selling well. I think they are giving up slowly. My truck is 73K.

Yet the guy that did this gets millions of dollars in renumeration for destroying their customer base, business and worldwide reputation...
