The Maroney (window sticker) is federally mandated. So they're breaking federal law. Now that Volvo's a Chinese own company they need to brush up on federal law.
I have lived in China several years. Volvos in China cost a fraction of what you quoted for these in the USA, and in China all vehicles must have clearly stated window stickers. Add-ons are not allowed. It seems China is not the problem here but American dealerships and lack of regulation/oversight?
The 1970's thru about 2000 Volvos were great. Very easy to work on and relatively problem free. Then they started to coast on their reputation and produced cars that were overloaded with tech do-dads and much more failure prone as well as being difficult and expensive to repair. This is what Toyota has started doing. So sad.
I remember a relative in the early 1990's with a Volvo wagon. It was very well made and simple front engine rear wheel drive. I guess those days are gone and I'm not surprised.
I notice it's the same thing with cell phone companies. There's a Galaxy phone that opens up into a mini tablet. They want $1,800! 😮 Almost 2 grand.......for a cell phone! 😮😮😮 Uh no!
I know a service manager at a volvo dealership in NYS.He laughed at all of the ignorant Doctors and lawyers buying these pieces of junk and his SECOUND laugh is how much money they get to constantly service them. I told him,he is a bigger thief than a used car dealer, he laughed and said they don't pay me 125000 dollars a year because of my honesty.
This dealership needs to be reported on. Yes, Arizona car dealerships must display Monroney stickers on new vehicles, but not on used vehicles: Monroney stickers Required for new vehicles in the United States, Monroney stickers display official information about the vehicle, including the VIN, warranty information, and the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Dealers are not allowed to modify or remove the stickers before selling the car.
Volvo is still the same as before the sale. Design, engineered, and manufactured in Sweden. I have owned many Volvos and had zero issues other than ball joints. Sorry you had one crashed car that was an issue.
Arizona doesn’t have a law that the car dealership has to display the window sticker for new cars. Pretty much Arizona doesn’t have a law for as car dealerships are concerned. They can pay much do whatever they want. But this is at Courtesy of Volvo of Scottsdale. I don’t like the way that they do business at all. My dad bought a truck from Courtesy Chevrolet and their sales and the service department has been nothing but awful.
That makes sense. Most dealerships in Arizona were not displaying their window stickers. They added an addendum sticker to every single vehicle new or used and it seems like they wanna play you like a fiddle as a customer. Definitely a not a place I wanna buy car.
@ yeah. Arizona has some crazy dealerships as a whole. The used car dealerships out here is even more wild. The quality is just junk. Every local knows not to buy a car from Cactus Jacks Auto. The quality of used car is bad. You’re getting an almost 40% interest rate and the car won’t run for a year w/o a bunch of repairs. You should see for yourself
I own a 2020 volvo and from my experience.. People just dont know how to look after cars.. people moaning that their turbos have died after 100k miles? well how about you stop flooring it every time your at a red light and running it on the cheapest fuel you can find then wondering why the EGR fails. The hybrid models have issues for sure but thats mainly due to volvo using outdated motor tech. The ICE models are actually good so long you have common sense.
It's just nuts today. Even crap cars you shouldn't buy, the dealerships are adding all these fees. Especially the used cars. Stick to Toyota(Lexus), Honda (Acura), and maybe Mazda? These Doc Fees are a joke...
Nice seeing this channel doing a 'premium" brand, even though they are trash, other than the mainstream domestic or main store Japanese. Can you do a Lexus dealer. would like to see more of the even less affordable brands like bimmer, benz, jag and audi etc etc
Certified preowned is a racket if you ask me....I found that out after my local BMW dealership was forced to take TWO of 'em back from me. I discovered one had been hit behind the right front tire and there was NO carfax report showing it ever happened. WHAT?!
Most of the modern cars and trucks are a huge Big fail, to many useless complicated and fragile electronics that become out dated almost immediately after purchase. Overpriced junk Built in Obsolescence at its finest ,and will most surely need to replace almost immediately after each use. In other words these are disposable cars bought with disposable income in a disposable economy that is swirling in the Bowl.
I got an electric volvo CPO and got 12k off with rebates and dealer discount 19K OTD. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds from a suv is actually nuts. Heard they arent reliable yeah but i got a 10year/150k mile factory CPO warranty so its good for the next 7 years at least. There are some good dealers out there this guy just shows the scum for views lol, respect the strategy tho
People like to play the games, If they are not playing a game then they do not feel that they are getting a deal. Even when the price is great and the dealership is upfront customers are always gonna do what customers do. Customers generally have to lie to a dealership to keep the sales person/manager honest and so the dealership has to be silly from the beginning so the customer can can lie and play the game and the dealership can "make them a deal". That or everyone pays MSRP like at Tesla. Which one is better?
Can you do one on other dealers like Hyundai? Not sure how they are doing. The one in my town is doing a whole full blown remodel and adding on a whole other giant building and mechanic bays. But I don’t ever see anyone there😂
In northern New Jersey Volvos are everywhere, I’ve realized recently that different parts of the country drive different vehicles. Also the XC90’s are nearly 100k they top out at no more than like 75. I’m not from Arizona but I’ve heard of Scottsdale being an expensive area, there’s people out there can afford it, that’s there clientele, people aren’t cross shopping the dodge hornet to an xc40 but they do cross shop a bmw X1 or X2 or Mercedes GLA or GLB those type of cars.
The Maroney (window sticker) is federally mandated. So they're breaking federal law. Now that Volvo's a Chinese own company they need to brush up on federal law.
The Monroney sticker named after the politician from Oklahoma that wrote the bill. Mike Monroney.

Add-ons are not allowed. It seems China is not the problem here but American dealerships and lack of regulation/oversight?
Their vehicles have become super overpriced and $41K for a used, 30K+ miles Volvo, is stupid! Let the rot on THEIR LOT!
volvo, headed the studebaker way.
I won't touch a modern Volvo with a 10-foot pole!
I pass by one of Volvo lots everyday when I go to work. I see the same car been sitting for at least 9 month.
Please do a video on Lexus IS 350…been looking at them for a while but dealer thinks it’s still pandemic pricing

Hey don’t talk like my Wife, for me $41,999 it’s not $41K it’s $42K…
You can have any color XC90 you want as long as it's white. 4:00 😂 🤣
Guess what color is cheapest for manufacturers and easiest for dealers to maintain
👍
Wow, $48K for an XC40?! A fully loaded V70 T5 with manual transmission cost a lot less than that not so long ago.
I notice it's the same thing with cell phone companies. There's a Galaxy phone that opens up into a mini tablet. They want $1,800! 😮
Almost 2 grand.......for a cell phone! 😮😮😮
Uh no!
In california there are amazing discounts on xc90 recharge models. upto 15k in incentives which brings price down to 60k for a new one. Not bad
Why would you buy XC90 when Acura mdx is so much better 😂
Not reliable after it was wrecked. Imagine that.

I've never had any issues besides normal maintenance with my Volvos.
Are they new? Or old dinosaurs
@jayc4715 I've had everything from 240s up to an 18 v60
same.. got a 2020 s90 and its been faultless. People just dont know how to look after cars anymore

My guess is no enforcement or they don't care about the consequences.
Still trying to live off the reputation Volvo had, prior to The Fall of 2010, when that changed, for the WORSE!! 🤣🤣
Go to another Volvo to compare… if they do the same thing.. would make this video more informative

Federal law that the Monroney sticker must be displayed.

First buy a CPO
Second go to Sand Diego and buy one
It is not a hard sell for people in Az to go to San Diego.
Volvo is a Chinese owned company. I'd love to see where these cars were made.
let em fail

I bought a certified Nissan that has been totaled!!
Certified preowned is a racket if you ask me....I found that out after my local BMW dealership was forced to take TWO of 'em back from me.

Mark up on pre-owned dealership putting their self out of business
Not only is Volvo owned by Geely which is a Chinese company, these vehicles are built in China then shipped over all i can say is bring on the Tariffs
BS. Different vehicles are built in different factories. Some in China, some in Europe, some in USA. Be specific.
XC90 looks like my mom's Honda CR-V

We have a used car dealership... that we bought a car from... he cant keep his lot stocked... vehicles are flying out of his dealership.
Is white the only color Volvo sells?
Price determines who's asking lol
@@CandlestickTV lol just ask Coulter Cadillac how that worked out for them 🤣

Our Hyundai-Kia dealers are booming in sales...... Probably the best brand in the world right now.
Who ever aspires to drive a Volvo? 😂😂
99% of the world, gladly
not the new ones(by these dealers) unfortunately
Volvo is junk to begin with! Wouldn’t have one up my ass if I had room for a boxcar.
😂 🤣
Yep...greed's involved.
It's not a Volvo anymore, it's probably made by the Lui Bei & Cao Cao Motor Company, LTD.
I had a 2007 XC90, total crap. Never again.
Volvo was once the most reliable European car brand. Then a Chinese company bought them. Now not so much.
Good job
Why by vehicles made by a China owned company?
*buy....
I have a 2019 S 60 T 5 R Design 30 k no problems 🤫🤌😎
