If you're travelling around the country then we feel 4 nights is about right. There's not a lot to do and the resort is pretty chilled. We stayed either 4 or 5 nights, it was a while ago so difficult to remember 🙂

@susantriance5219 you could stay a week in Bentota if you don't mind it quiet, especially on a night. The beach is huge. Mirissa is nice but we liked Hikkaduwa too. Plenty of choice!

@susantriance5219 When we first went Unawatuna was the main Russian resort. Now the Russians have taken Mirissa and Hikka too. We wouldn't go back again but if you can see past that then fair play. Just watch out for the tuktuk drivers in Mirissa as they are a law unto themselves with the extortionate prices they charge.

@@digitalcreatorblueprint This was filmed during a day trip in June. We've been in September and the weather is still nice and it can be reasonably busy. If the cruise ships are in then it's very busy.

Ao Nang is more sedate and less seedy than the likes of Pattaya in Phuket but it all depends on what you want out of the trip. If you want to ease yourself in then we'd suggest Ao Nang.

Id recommend Ao Nang but there is a lot to do in Phuket too. Ao Nang has better access to the islands and is less seedy than the likes of Patong Phuket but still pretty vibrant. If its clubbing all night your after then Patong Phuket is the go. This video shows a lot of Ao Nang, great video.

I think it's Il Piccolo de adeje. It's below the casino anyway. The prices have no doubt gone up over the years since this was filmed but hopefully it's still good value

@@jameschetwynd James, Marella is a British company and caters to those guests. You could book cruise only but otherwise the flights will go from UK airports. If we're being honest you'd be the only US guests onboard. Google search Marella cruises and go to their cruise only section.

@@virajiwarakaulla The public ferry is only available from and to Malé from Maafushi. The speedboat transfers go from/to the airport to Maafushi.

You wouldn't be able to do all of them in a day as there wouldn't be enough time to fully explore. Check the Ferry hopper website though and you may squeeze Naxos and Ios in as they are closer than Paros.

Hey Gary. Sorry for the late reply. You're quite right and it is few and far between these days. Even in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul no vendors offered us anything, although we found a local tea place hidden away. Times have definitely changed.

We would probably choose Hong island if we did it again even though it's further away.

People only really stay a couple of nights on Phi Phi. We hear the restaurants get rammed so don't be surprised about that. Koh Lipi is apparently well worth a visit, it's like the Maldives so they say. Have a great trip!

Phi Phi the busiest place I have ever visited in Thailand and everything double or treble the price. Guide said things quiet down once the boat trips finish at night. But he said in high season you can hardly move and we went on a quiet day.555

No you won't. It's normally for staying on the islands. Just remember good mosquito spray if you're going into any rainforests or jungles.

No, we have done 3 Caribbean Island cruises, be aware of sand flies on the beaches they can bite, but if you use a mosquito repellent you will be okay.

Nah we're just Yorkshire...and sometimes powered by beer. Glue would be a lot cheaper though. Infact we'll even add it as a recommended top tip for those travelling with Marella. Don't leave home with it.

We dropped on lucky that time but we didn't the month later or on the trip this year to check out the new spoons. It seems very hit and miss if you get an upgrade or not.

Paros is the furthest away but definitely worth visiting. Naxos was our favourite though out of the 3. Blue star ferries are a winner but certainly don't mess about!

There were some mosquitos but we took precautions and covered ourselves in mosquito repellent we got from Newtons supermarket. They pretty much left us alone after that.

@@vdavis8766 unfortunately it's the same all over the world but we've heard Turkey is getting a bit above itself. It's still cheaper than Antalya area though from what we hear. Greece is getting ridiculous too, it'll be cheaper to stay at home in a few years at this rate! Glad you enjoyed your trip.
