How do you apply for this position?
you were forgetting to pull in your mirror alot, i'm sure you've fixed that by now though.
I’m not going to even lie I haven’t. It’s a bad habit for me see the sup the trained me was like only pull it in if necessary.
Do the packages at ups have SID numbers like FedEx? And if so, how do you run your route(s)? In order of package number? Or out of order by what next stop is closest?
Yeah we have SID (called HIN at UPS). With the new boards we have I run the routes by whatever stop is closest.
How much of a process is it to become a driver?
For most people, they will work inside for 1 to 2yrs until they get the call to go intergrad if they pass that then they 30 day driving packet and if they pass they are in. I was lucky enough to get hired of the street.
Do you have your own route or are you all over the place? I start driving in May
I’m all over the place. Usually they keep me in the same city but every once while I’ll do other routes in other cities that we covet.
Wait, if you finish early, won't you be paid for 8 hours?
Supposed to but they are sneaky and try to code as pay actual

Nope, I don’t have a set route
Do you get multi-stops ?
Yeah usually the trailer parks, apts, and businesses count as one stop but it’s actually more than one
I was an Amazon driver I was doing 188,189 stops sometimes with 23 or 34 multi-stops 😏 I couldn't even take a lunch break and they didn't gave a F$&# . I quick my job because other drivers were doing 140,150,170 stops and they would get a rescue ,we all getting the same paid so why am I doing more deliveries with no rescue ,can't even take my 30mins break otherwise I would get behind .
Damaged packages , dropping heavy packages , customer helping you , not filling out slips (?) Sheeeesh rookie

how long it took you to become a driver? do you have to work warehouse before you become a driver? and how long
I personally was hired straight off the street, I was previously Amazon and FedEx driver. However most will have to work in the warehouse for about 2yrs

Did you get hired straight on as a Package Delivery Driver? or did you have to work in the warehouse first?
I got hired off the street as a driver.
But that rarely happens for most people, they will have to start with working in the warehouse
@@elexust730 nice! There was no job openings for ups so I took an offer from FedEx express did my drug screen/DOT physical. Hopefully I have a journey like yours!

I average about between 40-45 hrs a week
Your device Diad gps, just like the amazon flex gps, does it pin point the business and apartments stops for you?
Just pin points the main office building. Everything else you have to figure out on or own or I call another driver and ask them
How long have you been a driver? Topped out wage or working towards it? Ive veen driving almost four years and i go max wage in another month or so

Been a while. Hullo. In my location, it seems Express isn’t going to go contractor however there seems there will be a responsibility shift and we should be trading areas. Due to massive tech industry in my area growing, it’s looking like we will get them while we trade another spot to Ground. Something like that.

I sometimes see UPS drivers have to bear hug huge packages up flights of stairs and im like i dont know 😂
I am a FedEx ground driver. What I would do to have a nice clean truck like that and deliver in the city. Just put in my application and its peak season. Hopefully i can get in.
I’m a new ups driver and honestly you doing great my supervisor had taught me just throw your packages to front and scan your way to the door if it’s multiple packages throw them all to the cab do your 3 point contact and scan before you pick up saves you time I guess just passing over some knowledge that I was taught
Another supervisor is gonna observe you doing this and pull you off truck. You shouldn't be driving with any packages in the cab.
When did they say anything about driving with packages in the cab? If you have multiple packages set them in the cab and THEN use three points of contact to exit truck and scan the packages

Shouldnt have your diad in tour hand when you’re in the street. Not a safe walk path.
Total ultimate fake news gaslighting UPS produces these videos themselves and say their drivers putting them out, UPS does not even want their drivers wearing anything when they're not on a clock let alone posting videos on RUclips

1st minute: One handed driving. grab DIAD before going in back. Never checked for HIN number. Handling more packages than necessary looking for correct one. Didn't use handrail coming off car. I had to stop there.... the cringe was too dramatic.
You were wrong about everything except the one-hand driving. I already knew the HIN number 1002 which in the video you would have seen that I hand multiple HIN numbers of 1002, so I had to look at the addresses on the packages. I did use the handrail while holding the package but that is incorrect to do yes technical you're right. But this was almost 2 years ago lot has changed but thanks for putting that for others to not follow it.
It doesn't matter if you know the HIN number going in or not. The simple fact of the matter is you follow the methods regardless. The easiest way to turn around at your next stop is to think you know what you may not know. That is why the methods are drilled and why you follow them.
