In this video, I give you guys a glimpse into what a typical Friday looks like for me, working as a hedge fund risk analyst, since Fridays are typically the day I work from home. Although it may seem like I'm constantly busy working my full time job and this channel, I believe maintaining a healthy work-life balance is key to avoiding burnout so I certainly do occasionally take the time to relax and spend time with my friends and girlfriend, which you'll see in the video.

working in finance is overrated as hell. there is a reason turnover is so high
Sensible to get the job in risk management at a big bank. Easier to get in... then a good stepping stone to bigger things. Well done!

Good video, thanks.
Hi, Aaron: I found your vlog interesting and I would like to jump back to Finance industry. Would you mind to refer me to your company's new opening role please? Thank you!
Great video thx for the info ! I’m 2nd year in college and this summer I’ll learn coding , do u suggest starting with excel and vba or python (I hope to learn both of them till the time I apply for internship but I’ll like to know which is more important). I would really appreciate if you answer me thanks
Wow. Im from Greece,Namibia looks astonishing . I will surely have to visit Namibia
I didn't see the work.
What’s the name of that movie in first clip PLEASE?????
I want to try a different career and get into analyst. What a good. Major to major in. I currently major in bio but it’s not my passion.
i had question do quant traders use linux at work or windows ?
man wasnt expecting such a small TV!! 😂
What coding languages do yall use in finance? Just python or R too?
Both are used, I only know Python however R is commonly used as well.
What language do u usually code in for ur projects?
I personally use Python.
are these jobs in quant/risk remote also or ar they an office principle job
Most are probably hybrid if not fully in-person.
you're not an analyst. you're a bean counter.

I realize that you guys were pretty afraid of animals but these animals are used to be given food, such as carrots, apples, biscuits etc, so when you come back you should buy them somethings😂😂
Hello, I am Khusro Ansari! I recently completed my 12th grade and am now pursuing a Chartered Accountancy course, a Bachelor's of Commerce (Honours), and an LLB degree. My dream is to become an investment banker, particularly a Wall Street trader. I aspire to study for a master's degree abroad. Can you guide me on how to make this dream a reality and what I should focus on? I am from India.
U can't be an investment banker and a wall Street trader, maybe an investment banker on wall st, anyways apply for the GMAT OR SAT exam get a good grade apply to top schools, and boom if they like ur application you are IN !!happy American dream lol
How does this not have more views...
I appreciate that man!
Thank you
Bruh so far of all videos I've watched about my country... Yours gets a 10/10 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks, that means a lot!
As a liquidity risk analyst at a commercial bank, this man is 100% correct. Also get a technical degree like Math, Finance, CS, Stats or Economics to break into risk. Almost every risk role is quantitative and requires coding.
Very true, appreciate the input!
quick question what are type of skills do i need to be a hedge fund analyst
That answer depends a lot on the type of analyst but there's a video on my channel where I talk about 5 skills that are generally applicable to most roles.
I love trading and have been in this space for about three years now. I currently day trade futures and it's truly a passion mine. Would you suggest that I go for a finance degree? Is it worth it?
Absolutely! You will definitely need a finance degree if you want to trade at an institutional level.
Amazing
Against the Gods is a great book. I read some of it a couple years back. Good choice
One of my favorites!
hey bro my dream is to become a hedge fund manager im aiming for mba in finance ,cpa and cpa and a bachelors degree in commerce after all these am i eligible to become hedge fund manager
Credentials can get you in the door but I would say experience and developing a good track record would be a key step to starting your own fund.
Your videos are always a joy to watch!
Thanks so much for the support!
Great video! Did you learn to code at the Hedge Fund? Would you say that it is a must to learn Python if I want to land a similar buy side role? Thanks!
I did! And I wouldn't say its 100% necessary depending on your experience, but having Python would be a big competitive advantage compared to other candidates and most of the analysts I know, know at least some Python.
I have a question regarding the finance industry. I am currently pursuing a degree in Finance as I have decided to go back to school. At present, I am in my early 30's. I have come across a notion that it becomes more challenging to enter the finance industry as one gets older. I was wondering if you have any knowledge or information regarding this matter?
I'll be honest, I don't have a lot of experience with transitioning into finance later in your career but I believe age shouldn't matter as long as you have the necessary skills. For example, there was someone in my analyst class that came from several years in the military and was probably in his late 20s, early 30s. While uncommon, I'd certainly say being older alone shouldn't be a deterring factor.
This was extremely helpful. I appreciate the insight.
Glad you found it helpful!
Hey Aaron! Great video! I was just wondering what programming language is more suitable for people without any coding background to learn(to be used in the field of finance); Python or R?
From what I've heard, Python is generally easier to learn and more widely applicable.
My home country ❤❤❤
What a beautiful trip, video and a showcase this was... thumb bro's!
Thanks a lot!
Man you said about coding what kind of languages do you use and what kind of skills do I need to be like you in terms of coding side.
I code in Python. In terms of skills, data manipulation is a big one. Applying quantitative techniques and other more advanced stuff is actually relatively simple with the amount of Python packages available these days.
