Hi! Going into finance, starting my freshman year in under 3 weeks. I struggle with math a lot, but I never failed any courses in high school despite that. I got around a C- in precalc (68% as we don’t use letter grades where I live), do you think I can still be successful in this major? I honestly have no idea about finance, which is why i’m watching your videos. If i’m good with numbers, do you think finance is the right major for me? It’s hard to find a high paying career with math, so finance seems to be my way to go. Any thoughts? So after you explain your thoughts, can you also recommend me some universities that are very good for finance? Thanks!

Finance definitely involves math but some parts of finance require more math than others. The part of finance that involves math and statistics the most is quantitative trading, which also happens to be one of the highest paying areas of finance. UChicago is considered one of the best schools for quantitative finance, spawning multiple Nobel prize winning graduates. Best of luck on your journey and lmk if you have any more questions!
