Great video! Glad to see what other analyst's lifestyle is like. I'm a financial analyst, currently still WFH and our routine is very much similar, but your job scope seems to be so much more interesting which makes me eager to request to move into another department which does market analytical stuffs lol.
hey man, great job on the video, i'm a market analyst too and is funny to find how our lives coincide not just work wise but also life style, for example, i too try not to wake up my gf first thing in the morning, have ham sandwich for lunch, doing (almost) the same ab workout after dinner and diy my protein shake afterwards and do like half hour reading before bed. and i read Ray Dalio's Principles before covid and read his Principles for Navigating Big Debt Crisis last year. I now wonder if my colleagues have the exact life styles now lmao
That's crazy - when I read this, I thought you were kidding still not entirely sure you're not 😂. I recently got Dalio's The Changing World Order book for my bday - looking forward to starting it!
Great video Aaron, I WFH in digital marketing in the UK, I love not having to commute but miss the vibe of the office, what about you? I also read to help sleeping, it really works!
nice vid! I'll be starting as a trainee on the sales and trading floor at one of the IB !! This probably gonna be me soon, etc reaching office at 6-7ams for meetings😂😂😂
If your really for self improvement then follow up on the many things (your missing out on with lack of optimization) with your workout/morning routine.
@@aaron_yao Gotchu bro but how about this, I’ll give you 40 solid workout/communication/work/studying facts I’ve accumulated for efficiency and improvement based on science to have a 30 minute discord call where we can talk about some analytical methods
Awesome video, I'm currently a honor role PSU finance major and econ minor, looking to get into something finance wise. Top choices are FP&A, equity research junior, and your particular job which is risk analyst. I have a question for you, during your daily job do you also recommend price targets or for example maybe further illustrate financial research that encourages the other members of your team to invest into that stock as part of your risk analyst position ? Also I know this is a very newbie question here but what certs helped ? CFA ?
What you're describing sounds more like the job of the Research team - they will be the ones to provide market color for the purpose of informing trading decisions. And for my particular job, no certifications are necessary but for equity research, a CFA would definitely help.
@@aaron_yao Thanks I appreciate it. Looking forward to being like you someday. Do you aim for a FRM ? As a risk analyst, well I saw on some of your vids you moved to something even bigger ! then that so I mean congrats.
Really interesting watch! Even i have received an offer for being a risk analyst this summer. What technologies would you recommen which come in handy for the job?
Thanks! Congrats on your offer! The tools I use are all provided by the company but I use Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau a lot for data consolidation, visualization, and presentations.
Do you go to your apartment gym or a nearby one? My biggest fear is not being able to workout once getting a real job. My internship allows me to be done before 5pm so I have plenty of time to go and still be in bed by 11pm.
When I recorded this video I had a gym in my apartment building but I have since moved to NYC so I've been going to a local gym. If your hours don't deviate too much from your internship, I'm sure you'll still be able to make it to the gym. I know many people that have much longer work days than me and they are still able to consistently work out.
Depends on the firm and job function but I personally am still allowed to trade, I just have to pre-clear the securities and have to hold for at least 30 days.
@@aaron_yao I see thank you! Does the pre clear and 30 day rule hurt your ability to invest better for yourself? Or you don’t think it will cause issues with personal investments like losing money or investment opportunity because of the restrictions.
What does owning a Ferrari have anything to do with drinking a glass of water every morning I mean it isn’t any financial advice that can help you buy a Ferrari
Good video. Was disappointed when you said "an influence said it and he drives a ferrari so im not going to question it." Not sure if this was a joke but only a sheep would genuinely make a statement like thag

I honestly don't remember the exact song I used for the video 😅 but its probably a song by Jobii or Lukrembo - they make good chill beats
Brad Owen worked his way into my suggestions years ago and i've been stuck watching him since lmao

Im peeping the polar seltzer! I drink 2 liters of polar a day lol cant go without it.

Great video! Currently an IBD analyst and my routine is very similar. 💪
How long do you typically read for before falling asleep?

What does a risk analyst make? Is CFA or CAIA best? Also do you have a networth target by a age?
1. Check out quantnet to find out a day in the life of market risk
2. FRM. Neither of them would help.
3. Definitely not. That’s pathetic.
1. I've found H1B database is a good resource for salaries. 2. Don't have an opinion tbh 3. Yes...perhaps a topic for a future video 🤔
How much salary does man earn as a financial analysts?! Im really curious
