Dostoevsky On Why SUFFERINGS Make You Beautiful
We live in an age where suffering feels endless, and morality seems powerless against those who chase success without ethics. This has led many into nihilism, feeling like life is meaningless. But Fyodor Dostoevsky saw suffering differently. He believed that pain wasn’t just something to endure-it could be a gateway to something deeper.
Through novels like The Idiot and Crime and Punishment, he explored existentialism and the idea that suffering itself is a form of beauty. His own life was proof of this-losing his parents, surviving a mock execution, enduring exile in Siberia, battling epilepsy, and drowning in debt. Yet, through it all, he held onto the belief that "Beauty will save the w...

The Most SAVAGE Philosopher EVER
Просмотров 9 тыс.День назад
Diogenes of Sinope was no ordinary philosopher-he was the savage, homeless thinker who tore through society’s facades with relentless humor and sharp defiance. Born into wealth, he could’ve lived a comfortable life, but after a scandal that led to his exile, Diogenes saw an opportunity to break free from everything he was once tied to. He didn’t just reject materialism; he lived it, embodying t...

What of it? If I die, I die." - Lermontov We all crave freedom-freedom from expectations, from attachments, from anything that might hold us back. Pechorin in A Hero of Our Time seems to embody that ideal. He’s charming, intelligent, and completely indifferent. He seduces women only to discard them, manipulates people for amusement, and treats life like a game he’s already figured out. He seems...
How GOOD People Lose to POWER| Orwell's Warning

Why is it always the good guys who have to be pawns? And how? This is what 1984 was-a dystopian masterpiece that explores totalitarian control through propaganda, surveillance, and psychological manipulation. Set in the authoritarian state of Oceania, ruled by Big Brother, the novel reveals how regimes suppress individuality, erase truth, and dehumanize people to maintain absolute power. The Pa...

Did he really? In this video, the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein is explored, particularly focusing on his groundbreaking ideas in the philosophy of language. His theories had a significant impact on lo...

Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina is a story about doubt, societal pressure, and the search for meaning. It contrasts two parallel lives: Anna’s tumultuous affair with Vronsky and Levin’s quieter, introspective journey. Anna’s life is marked by her struggle to navigate the judgment of society. Once her affair becomes public, she is shunned by the same social circles she once thrived in. The constant ...

Philip Zimbardo's The Lucifer Effect examines how ordinary people can commit acts of evil when placed in certain environments. Using the Stanford Prison Experiment as a central example, he shows how power, authority, and dehumanization can drive seemingly moral individuals to cruelty. In the experiment, college students assigned as guards became abusive, while those assigned as prisoners quickl...
The Desire To Disappear?

The desire to not exist isn’t the same as wanting to die-it’s a wish to escape life’s burdens and wake up in a different world. This feeling often arises from dissatisfaction, rejection, or struggles with daily life, but even those who are successful, like Tolstoy, have experienced it. Schopenhauer explained this as an endless cycle of desire and suffering, while Nietzsche’s nihilism reflects t...

There is a limit on how far you can go to deceive people without losing your morals. It's ok to hide your capability but keep your morality.
West time is horizontal East time is vertical
it seems to me that time is just a construct - so, for instance, the reason that calculations like E=mc2 do function correctly is only that they are a self-fulfilling philosophy and the Constant there is arbitrary, so E contains no time element and M contains no time element but C is the speed of light (why?) and includes Time
Politics *are* dirty - politics are defined as a set or course of actions/activities, plural
Imagine getting called out for saying how you see the world. Shi that happens everyday actually.

Seek and ye shall find. Just because their mortal body ended...Does not mean God will not honor His Word to them. "Heaven and Earth will pass away. But my word, shall never pass away."-Look it up on Google:)
There is a very famous quotation of a 17th Century Marathi poet-sage from India. He says “ वेष असावा बावळा परी अंतरी नाना कळा “ meaning exactly the same. Be very smart while appearing naive.
He always had the answer, but still asked questions. He didn't notice. because he wasted his time wondering on the answers of his questions.
You're talking about Leo and I'm thinking about what you think an how well you understand this state of mind. It's a sad and harshly truthful path. More we know less we'll feel happy (if we're an empath of course)
the fact that trump won invalidates this whole philosophy
The true reason time seems to speed up as we age is simple, we have less to look forward too, our significant events are largely over, time crawls when you’re waiting for something, a graduation, a trip, first child, etc
Every great leader in history has death on his hands U can't please everyone and U won't be loved by all
I agree with your statement that Myshkin is like Christ. I think that's the point. If Jesus were around now what would he do, and that is what Dostoyevsky is exploring. What happened to Myshkin happened to Christ, and Christ asked his followers to follow him.

6:47 : _" giving rights to women "_ Really ?! Have u even gone through the constraining edicts of Izlm towards women 🧐
Bro Muhammad isn't someone who deserves praise. You should do some research on him from non islamic sources. Him giving women rights is the biggest joke. His first wife was a business owner even before islam was born. He has done a lot of raping and pillaging to be called a noble person.
Life is a game of good vs evil. Good has already won. You decide what side you’re on.
i put it in deep seek to make my own common more sense for those whom want deeper understanding: What he likely means by "beauty" is the profound power of love itself-a force so compelling that it can transcend even the darkest aspects of human nature. Consider, for example, a beautiful woman who commits a terrible crime. Her beauty might lead others to forgive her, as if her appearance somehow softens the gravity of her actions. In this sense, beauty has the ability to overshadow the flaws and sins inherent in the human condition, evoking feelings of gratitude, compassion, and love. Imagine encountering someone strikingly beautiful begging on the street. Their beauty might move you to stop and help, whereas someone less visually striking might not elicit the same response. Beauty, in this way, has the power to compel people to act against their usual inclinations, to disrupt their routines, and even to challenge their moral boundaries. It can inspire change, dismantle indifference, and, in its most extreme form, destroy everything in its path. In this light, beauty becomes a force that dismantles nihilism through its sheer, undeniable presence. It acts almost like destiny or a divine force, capable of reshaping perspectives and transcending the void of meaninglessness. Beauty, in its essence, becomes a testament to the power of love and the human will to find purpose and connection, even in the face of chaos.
Whats the point? Born into a body that feeds off of life. Eating suffering, we peak and slowly decay.. why the conflict of good and evil? Why anything at all?
I think what he mean by beauty would be the fact of love in it self. Like how a beautiful girl whom commit horrible crime will be forgiven because she's beautiful. This beauty over looks the sins of the sins of human condition and bring, gratitude and love.I mean if you see someone very beautiful and they were begging for money on the street, it would compel you do stop what you are doing and help her but if she's not pretty and you wouldn't care. Beauty compels the person to change their ways, destroy everything in it's path. Therefore, beauty destroy all aspect of nihilism through sheer force of will. It's almost like destiny or God in it self.
Diogenes and me, me and Diogenes Sometimes I feel I AM Diogenes reincarnated
It has beauty. It is the pain of the other in you that makes you grander. If you couldnt you would be that ignorable smaller entity. If you can feel the pain of an animal, you can see bigger, you are bigger. The animal not feeling your pain makes it a lesser entity.
Useful ideas, but PhiloNautica makes some simplistic statements such as Mohammed being kind to everyone. He encouraged his followers to raid caravans and had a man killed who mocked him. And Nietzsche's Ubermensch is someone who overcomes the defects of his character, not a Napoleon-like politically powerful person.
Meaning finds us.
I can’t stop focusing on those random white dots all over the video… looks like someone doing endless circles with a computer mouse at hyper speed…
Trump is definitely implementing these strategies

Bro can you please explain "It takes something more than intelligence to act intelligently.". What is somthing more than the intelligence?? And how can someone act intelligently? Many times we do many bad things knowing that it's bad like addictions.
It's from Dostoevsky's novel, I guess. In my opinion, Dostoevsky was trying to explain how factors like emotions, beliefs, and social life are important and should be considered depending on the situation by an intellectual. A man with an IQ higher than Einstein’s, if he doesn’t know how to handle his emotions or when to trust his gut, is not acting intelligently.
@@PhiloNauticaaThis was well put and resembles my interpretation as well. Great video !
Dostoevsky was an genius❤

I'm doing great than 😂
Friends of mine have a large holiday house a bit like uncle Monty's from Whitnail and I. No power, no phone reception nothing. If you want a coffee you have to chop the wood, light the stove and wait. Eventually the stove is hot enough to put the coffee on. The day goes slow, like when you were a kid. 3 hours of normal life is only 20mins. I love it there. No other houses around just a 2 storey bluestone house, a secluded valley and a windmill that needs oiling. Point is, time can still slow as we age too. Just disconnect for awhile.
Sounds like a beautiful place!
I feel like time has slowed down as I've aged.
Ridiculous … so gave up in the end and started to believe something fake.
Stopped worrying about everything. No longer give a rat's arse. Blood pressure back to normal ( no meds.) Happy again.😊
The sad thing is that, like Tolstoi, most people realise the truth about reality and become antinatalists after they had children.
Nice
Thank you

For me, you have not answered the question at all. Why does time feel faster as we age? Perhaps somebody who is more intelligent than you can step in here.
