There's a Big Wide World
Австралия
Добавлен 16 апр 2018
I was once asked why I liked to travel. My response was "There's a big wide world out there and I want to see as much of it as possible" I created a blog first and as I needed a name for it so I went with the first part of that sentence. Having discovered other travel vloggers, I wanted to share some of my favourite places.
These videos are based on my personal travels and they are all paid for by myself.

Chihuly's Stunning Art Installation At The Botanic Garden
#chihulyinthebotanicgarden #artexibition #adelaide
The Adelaide Botanic Garden was established in 1857, and for the next 5 months it is hosting the Chihuly in the Botanic Garden exhibition. Glass installations are placed around various parts of the gardens. The exhibition is free to visit during the day, it's a lovely way to spend time in beautiful setting. There are more glass sculptures that I've included in this video, I just filmed some of the ones I really liked.

Hello. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful video. Greetings from Japan.
Thank you for your kind words and watching the video.
This is just fabulous! Anyone missing Christmas tree baubles we know where to find them 😂❤
Exactly, you just need a very large tree! Thanks for watching
Beautiful display!
Yes great to see!
Amazing glass artwork to enjoy in a really lovely setting and all free (during the day!)
has anyone here read the book that boy jack? i havnt been to moonta in so long and reading that book helped me thanks for making me see what it really was like in the times of that book
I've never even heard of the book so I looked it up and see if I can find a copy to read. Moonta Mines is really well preserved so it does bring history to life when you visit it. Thanks for watching!
This town was my ""THE YEAR MY VOICE BROKE; town of my youth Thats when i met my Freya (Erica)

The best thing to see in Singapore and it's all free!
@@theresabigwideworld2632 that makes it even better! Got to love free!! Sometimes, the free stuff is way better than stuff you pay top dollar for!
Correction- Goolwa is not the New Orleans of the South. Goolwa is the Hyannisport of the South. All Goolwa need is the Kennedy clan to complete the illusion.
Does Hyannisport have paddle steamers? Goolwa was a major river port and ship yard where the paddle steamers were built, sadly now there's only one there now.
@@theresabigwideworld2632 Brisbane is more suited to the New Orleans moniker of Australia- it got the big brown river curling through the city, and I did checked- it got paddle steamers plying the brown water, and the steamy humidity completes the image. Goolwa for Hyannisport.
Lovely!
Fascinating place, thanks for watching!
I too was unaware of this other St Helena. Thanks to you I now have that little extra knowledge! Interesting story and sad also your mention that Queensland has bulldozed much of its history. Have a wonderful week. Best wishes from Nottingham.
Cool that you discovered somewhere new, especially as it was so great to explore and discover its history. An ideal place for a prison, off the mainland. Shame only 7% is remaining.
It is a shame but at least it's being protected now. The state of Queensland is notorious for the amount of heritage architecture that got bulldozed mainly in the late 1970s, the Premier of the state saw no value in it. In Brisbane, wrecking crews would literally come during the night and begin demolition, thankfully a few things survived and people are far more interested in heritage architecture now and will work to protect it. Thanks for watching!
Hi there we found this fascinating never heard of it but loved hearing the history! Thank you for putting this on our map! Have a great weekend ❤️
Until 2 years ago I'd never heard of this island and prison either! It's a beautiful day out, sailing (on a calm day!) across Moreton Bay to St Helena Island. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Very interesting 🧸🐻
It was fascinating as Australian colonial history is really all centred around Sydney and Tasmania, it was a great day out. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing some rich history of Australia that I was not aware of.
Neither did I! That's why I was so intrigued when I heard there was a St Helena Island in Moreton Bay and that there were convict ruins there. We hear about NSW and Tasmania but nothing really about Queensland and that was a convict settlement as well. The guides were fantastic and I learnt a lot!
It looks like a great day out!
The tour was excellent, thanks for watching
Looks really interesting!
It was fascinating! Thanks for watching
Beautiful views
Really stunning across Moreton Bay to the port on the Brisbane river. Thanks for watching
that video looks excellent ! big like
Thank you, those cafes were great. Thanks for watching!
Now we seem to be addicted to cruising, I do love to see a cruise port video, they are so useful and informative. Great seeing how many wonderful things there are to see in Trieste. I love the cafe culture vibe.
I'm still at the 'thinking about it' stage with cruising as I get horribly seasick. Two years ago I noticed how many more cruise ships were coming to Trieste, there used to be one a week on a Sunday, now there was one just about every day and 2 on weekends. There were also a lot of people wandering around with maps, I assumed the tourists from the cruise ships, either after or before their cruises. I realised I could make a video on what to see, and it's ended up being my most watched video! So this year I thought about what else people could experience and I thought the historic cafes would appeal to some people. I've also discovered historic gelato shops, so that's for next year's visit!
@@theresabigwideworld2632 yes it really is such valuable information for cruisers.
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍17
Thanks for liking and subscribing!
Lovely looking bit of coast and pleasant town. Shame there are such strong currents to contend with.
Horseshoe Bay is more protected so that's where people generally swim, but there are always risk takers who try another spot on the coast. The biggest issue now is with visitors who come from countries where they haven't learnt to swim. (For Australians it's compulsory to have swimming lessons at school.) Each year there are drowning happening where visitors are caught by sudden bad weather.
Hi there 👋 some very splendid cafes here for sure with very delicious looking pastries! This is really put together well and is great for people visiting Trieste! Thanks 👍❤️
I love a bit of history so enjoyed the old cafes, there's some trendy modern ones too! Thanks for watching.
The Austrian love of cakes and pastries is certainly on view of those coffee houses. They are certainly an attractive feature of the city. Another reason to return.
I did have to spread out the visits to the cafes, I thought I had visited all the historic ones but I've since discovered I missed one so need to try that one out next time! Thanks for watching!
Those cakes looked delicious!
They were! Thanks for watching!
During this year's stay in Trieste, I set myself the task of visiting some of the historic cafes in the city. (It was a tough job, but I was up to the challenge!) Trieste has a great cafe culture and there are certainly a lot more bars and cafes where people can get great coffee and food but I focussed on the historic cafes. Caffè degli Specchi was already a favourite simply because of its location, great people watching! I had to google the location of the others, only to find I had walked past Caffè Tommaseo and La Bomboniera many times over the years but had never gone inside. Cafe San Marco is a bit further out from the centre, it's more of a neighbourhood cafe, and it took a bit of walking and lots of checking google maps to find it!
My GGG & GG grandparents from both South Wales and Germany, all miners, were amongst the earliest settlers in Burra. Their surnames were Edwards, Evan’s and Hirschausen.
It must have been a tough life, especially if they were among the people living in the dugouts by the creek! Thanks for watching!
Amazing locations in Norfolk.
Really lovely, I hope to return and explore more of Norfolk. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for guiding us through the enchanting spots in North Norfolk. The grounds and surrounding towns landscapes were absolutely stunning, and Houghton Hall and Castle Acre Priory were breathtaking with their historic charm. I loved the beautiful landscapes and fascinating ruins. Your insights and narration really enhanced the experience. Have a nice week.
We love North Norfolk and enjoy visiting the coast here. We've been to events on the grounds of Sandringham but have never been in the house. Same with Holkham, we've had a drink in the pub and enjoyed the coastline they manage, but never visited the house. Wells Next The Sea is a big favourite with us though.
It's a really lovely area and 4 days wasn't really long enough to explore. I hope to return at some stage to see more, the stately homes were impressive, but I found the smaller towns were also interesting to visit.
Hi there thanks for putting north Norfolk on our map we really should venture down south more! Castle Acre looks lovely as does the seaside town and harbour. Free parking marvellous 😉 Kings Lyn looks lovely and historic very picturesque! Really enjoyed our trip with you to North Norfolk 👍❤️
I try and visit a different area of the UK when I visit, so Norfolk was new to me. I ended up really liking the area and want to return to explore more, like most people who live in Australia, I'm a real coastal dweller so nice beaches are a big plus! I did spend a lot of time complaining about the cost of parking, to park close to Holkham Beach was 10 pounds for the day!!!😲
Good tip about the parking! Nothing like a brisk walk to start your royal tour. You can’t go wrong with a charming town as your base-Castle Acre sounds delightful! The fact that Sandringham’s rooms are modest yet elegant really highlights the charm of this royal residence. Listening to music in such a grand setting must have been an incredible experience.
It was more of a panicked run than a brisk walk!😅 No more trusting a GPS, the main carpark at Sandringham is near the entrance, the one the GPS sent us was the overlow carpark. The music in the Minister was a lovely surprise, it was a regular weekday concert.
North Norfolk has a lot to enjoy. We enjoy some of the coastal walks here. Castle Acre is well placed to head out to so many varied sites as well as being of being of interest itself.
North Norfolk was a pleasant surprise, one that I think we're going back to as last year's visit was quite short and I scheduled so many things in! Thanks for watching.
👍

It does look so good here and It was great to see Sandringham as I've only seen it on TV ! It's great that you can walk around inside. The grounds were so beautiful. Lovey the look of Houghton Hall too and Castle Acre Priory, stunning ruins. Great to see around here around Kings Lyn too :) ~ Anna 🎉
I'd only ever seen Sandringham on TV as well so I wanted to go and visit it during the time it was open to the public. And the bonus was there were other lovely places to visit nearby. Thanks for watching!
Impressive stately homes!
Houghton Hall is VERY impressive. Thanks for watching!
There's a lot to see in a small area.
Top place to visit, thanks for watching!
I spent a few days exploring one small part of Norfolk and there was a lot to see!
When I woke up on the train we were pulling into Lugano. A beautiful sunny morning in the winter. It was like I'd gone to heaven after the horrific four hours in the hell hole of the Milano train station the previous night. Much like the droogs in "Clockwork Orange" those young Italian goons were terrorizing people just for the hell of it. Animals.
I had to google this place as I had not heard of it. I am not really one for lying on a beach but the old town looked pleasant enough. The long causeway from the direction of Aquileia also caught my eye as an interesting route to take. I am keen to get back to the area especially after seeing some of your videos as well as having watched the TV series "La Porta Rossa". Hope you have a great week.
Grado is very small but worth seeing as a day trip included with visiting Aquileia, it's quite scenic going across the lagoon. Grado was originally established in Roman times as the first port for ships heading up to Aquileia. I've not heard of the TV series 'La Porta Rossa' so I'll try and see if I can find it.
Such an interesting and beautiful channel.😊 New subscriber and like of course.😉 Many greetings from the Franken Travelers.🤗
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!
Italy is incredibly beautiful. We visited Rome and Venice, and planning to visit more over there. Thanks for this video. Good luck to your channel.
Italy has so many different places to see, some of the smaller towns are nicer as there are fewer and in some cases no tourists. Thanks for watching!
Wow Beautiful 🎉🎉🎉🎉Amazing Sharing 6:30

Grado looks like such a charming destination for a summer getaway!
It is, very nice at the moment as it's very hot in Italy right now! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful island my friend
The old town is really pretty and the beaches are nice. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful island and a lovely beach. All beaches in the US too are public. But, sometimes the landowners can make it difficult to access them! The Basilica ruins were interesting to see. Would have loved to attend Mass in the slightly newer one! Beautiful tour amongst the canals. Thanks so much for showing us around.
The ruins of the basilica were interesting as they were only discovered in 1905 where the area was dug up to make the square, that's Europe for you! Dig a bit and you'll find the ruins of something even older! Mass in the St Eufemia church was really lovely as a male choir sang most of it until the end when the whole congregation sang the song about the fishermen of the sea, it was very moving.
I've not heard of Grado before but it certainly looks like a lovely place to visit for a bit of relaxation and to enjoy the beach. Its town has a beautiful vibe too. I love seeing all of the different boats coming and going.
Grado is really nice, people mainly go there for its beaches, there's another longer stretch of beach past the promenade. I like to wander around (unless it's very hot!) in the old part of Grado during the day as in the evening everyone is out and about.
Have only just found this short of yours. The light show looked great 🙂~ Anna 🎉
It's really my favourite part of visiting Singapore, it's all free so very popular. The music changes regularly as does the light show. This night it was celebrating Asian music, so very dramatic!
