Oh no, pleased you still managed to get a train, but it was certainly a slow train. Ouch it was hot. I have to say when we visited the Dolomites last June, I was surprised at how warm it was, even up a mountain surrounded by snow! Bolzano looked like a wonderful place to visit. The gondola ride was a bit scary over the valley though.
A little fun fact about Bolzano is that it's one of the hottest city in the whole Italy! which people usually don't believe us as it seems to be in the mountains.👀 but the reason is that it's actually in between the mountains "enclosed" by them and that's why the heat is just holding there... The Ritten Cable Car is a must for anyone visiting Bolzano! it gains an altitude of nearly 1000 m up in about 15 minutes so you can really cool down up there if it's warm in the city 🚠 And if you wanna enjoy the Dolomites it's really easy to just use the public transport from the city center which runs very often to such places as Lake Carezza or others 😊🏔
I found out how hot Bolzano gets when I visited last year. It was during one of the heatwaves that Italy was having at the time, I thought going to Bolzano would be cooler. It wasn't!! It was 38 degrees in the city and about 2 degrees cooler on the Ritten Plateau. So quite a shock!
We have not been to Bozen/Bolzano for many years. I first visited over 50 years ago and it would be great to see it again. The cable car looked fun. Sorry to hear of your Mistakes! You made it though.
Well we do learn from out mistakes, and I learnt that regional train tickets are good for 4 hours! I also learnt to check the departure time on tickets I bought far in advance so you don't get stuck on a trip on a 2 hour and 40 minute regional train, instead of a 40 minute fast train!! 😄
Absolutely a wonderful place to explore. Such beautiful countryside. Amazing mountains and gondola system. Wonderful views of the town and church. Also great views of the rock formations. Nice information and narration. Have a great day my friend.
Hello, wonderful tour, the panoramas of the mountains are impressive, the views from the lift are fantastically beautiful, thank you, friendly greetings from Ukraine, success!
Love it there! Bad times with the trains and heatwaves!! The gondola ride looks amazing! There’s so many places we want to visit! Thanks for sharing your experiences. 🍻

Thanks for watching and your nice comment, this Sunday I am uploading a video of what you can see when you go up the mountain on the cable car. That area is even more beautiful~
Oh no what a shame you missed the train leaving Bolzano! What a beautiful place Bolzano is with such a breathtaking scenery. Thank you for such a beautiful video ❤
I missed the original train I was booked on going to Bolzano, but as the tickets were good for 4 hours I could get another train, it was just the regional train that stopped at 14 (!!!) stations before it got to Bolzano so it took forever to get there!
@@theresabigwideworld2632 Oh my goodness! I'm glad that you didn't have to pay for another train fare though? I'm so glad that you still managed to get there and captured Bolzano so beautifully 🤗❤
Wow what an incredible area! Very well put together and we loved hearing your mistakes, all things that can easily happen! This is why we hire a car those mountains are always much further away than they look! This nearly slipped by us but glad it didn’t this is an area that interests us so thank you! Have a great week ahead! 👍💕
This Sunday I'm putting up a video of from when I went and the gondola to the Renon Plateau, I think you both would really enjoy it. It really was a hikers' paradise, it's possible to hike all the way back down to Bolzano (I took the gondola!!😀) The spectacular rock formations that you see in instagram photos are further east so you do need a car to get to the towns where those gondolas are that take you up. The Dolomites are stunning so well worth visiting!
🎵"About mistakes, I've made a few!" 🎶 You bounced back quite nicely (the ticket good for 4 hours is nice) and you'll never lose! Just get there a little later than planed. Stunning scenery along the way! It's funny that at times I too, get tired of the sights and jump on the freeway. Bolzano looks beautiful despite the heat and the views from the gondola stunning! Thanks for bringing us along to such a beautiful part of the world!
I've made more than a few mistakes when travelling over the years! I have a terrible sense of direction and I can't tell you how many times I have come around a corner only to be puzzled and then exclaim, that 'road, building, canal, on one occasion ocean (!) should not be there!' It does all make for good stories later on!
It's a beautiful area, and after the excruciatingly slow train into Bolzano I learnt my lesson about double checking train departure times!! Thanks for watching!
Bolzano is in a valley so it doesn't get a lot of snow, I think its main attraction is that it's a German speaking part of Italy and culturally not very Italian.
