Thanks for the chat. Just wanted to mention that I think you got it wrong when you said "most farms are factory farms." Most farms are actually small farms, yet most of the animals that humans are consuming are coming from factory farms. But even many farms that are considered "small" will still kill thousands of animals per year.

That's completely wrong Edit: and using palm oil as an example for déforestation is completely misleading as palm oil is the crop that's produced on scale that has the most efficient land use by far. Getting rid of palm oil would in fact multiply déforestation by many fold!!! Wth, do a little research, please.

Fact correction: Animal agriculture is responsible for 51-87% of radiative heating. See Goodland and Anhang "Livestock and climate change..." 2009 and Dr. Sailesh Rao "Animal Agriculture Position Paper" 2019. FAO is an animal agriculture-funded organization. They partnered with the Meat Secretariat and Dairy Council in their writing of "Livestock's Long Shadow" and its "corrections" and no one who authored it was a climate scientist.

Precision fermentation doesn't get nearly as much coverage as cultured meat often known as lab based meat. I am glad that Natalie is featuring it since I think it has a better chance of replacing animal products than cultured meat does. I got an opportunity to try animal free dairy milk made using Precision Fermentation and was amazed how similar it was to traditional dairy milk. Unfortunately last I checked the price was very high compared to dairy milk largely because it is a new technology and it does not enjoy the huge subsidies that animal products get from the US government and many other governments around the world.
